Update: A 3rd party contractor arrived at our home on Sunday, November 2nd. As suspected, the remote was not retaining memory, which was preventing the awning from closing and opening properly. The contractor reset the remote again (4th visit), so the awning would finally close. He also helped me wrap up the awning in the cover and secure it for winter at no additional charge. I hope he is paid for his travel and time. My concern: In the spring, when we uncover the awning, will the remote and awning motor retain memory, or will we have the problem again? This has occurred multiple times. Final thoughts, it would be wise for the retailer to contact "Somfy", the company that makes the remote, to diagnose the issue before selling more Oasis free-standing awnings. After reading multiple reviews, I am positive that this is not an isolated problem. Thank you, MooreShade4Less, for helping to solve the current issue. I hope we can enjoy our awning in the spring and next summer, and not have to deal with another remote/motor memory problem. Earlier review- DO NOT PURCHASE A SUNSETTER OASIS FREE STANDING AWNING! Many weeks later, we received a call from the installer. He came to work on our awning out of the goodness of his heart. He was not paid by the company. After a couple of hours, he was finally able to close the awning, and within 24 hours, we had the same issue. The awning would NOT CLOSE!!! I wish I could post the images here!!! It's now late October, and the expensive winter wrap we purchased will not fit over the malfunctioning awning as it did last year. The wind is blowing off the tarps we have tried to secure over this mess! Michael and team came out to do maintenance on my Sunsetter 10ft motorized awning. His team removed the cloth awning and washed both side of fabric. He oiled the motor and cleaned the wall mounted brackets and arms. He removed some leftover electrical wires that were no longer functioning. I had MooreShade4Less install a motorized Sunsetter awning with a wind sensor. It took forever to get it installed so I ended up being able to use it for only a couple of months before the weather turned cold. I didn't mind because I knew I'd be able to use it more the next year. But the next year came and I had to have my roof reshingled. I needed the awning uninstalled and reinstalled. It took forever to get someone out each time to take care of this. I got to use it for about 1 month before it was cold. Again, I chalked it up to bad luck. Now I'm in year three and the wind sensor brings in the shade every 15 minutes to an hour. They have replaced the wind sensor (which took 2 months to get them out to do this) and there's still a problem. When I complained to Sunsetter, they told me how to trouble shoot the awning and recommended getting a handyman. Their own repair people couldn't troubleshoot it!! When Dave did the sales pitch for the awning, he told me: 1. Brad would come by and inspect the leaning post that the awning would be attached to. (Had this occurred, I would have had the opportunity to replace the pole or make other arrangements.) 2. Brad would do the installation on a Saturday (he works 7 days a week and this would prevent me from having to take time off from work). 3. Brad would give me the information regarding replacing the solar panels on the easy shades. What I got: No Brad. No inspection, no Saturday installation (I had to take off work, twice). Very nice guy, Wes Williams and his helper, John, came out the day after you called to see if anyone had contacted me. I told you I hadn't heard a peep. So, Wes comes out and asks where I want the awning installed. I thought he was kidding. He had no idea that he was replacing an awning. Wes inspects the current set up and immediately sees a large split in the primary beam. The split was very noticeable to anyone who bothered to look. He didn't feel comfortable installing the awning on this wood and suggested replacing it. (So, I ran to Lowe's to get replacement wood while Wes and John began the ordeal of removing the current awning.) This is now cutting into his paycheck. Removing the awning was labor intensive so after 3 hours, and daylight waning, they called it a day. They came back the next day and picked up where they left off. Because one of the primary poles is bent, it took extra time, muscle and determination to get the awning installed. Once installed, the retracting arm slammed against the other metal brace. Not even my very old and tired awning did that - and this was brand new. Again, it is late in the day and in the high 90s, so we decided to call it a day and start again on the THIRD attempt. I wasn't able to get off from work during his third visit, but Wes called and explained what was going on. I don't understand the specifics, but essentially the retracting arm wasn't doing what it should and neither was the motor which was making a horrible grinding noise. So, now a new motor had to be ordered and that will take 2 WEEKS to arrive. Meanwhile, I'm out of luck and no awning to sit out with my dog and enjoy the summer evenings. AND poor Wes has to come out for a FOURTH time. To add insult to injury, you deducted $100 from HIS installation fee. AND after he removed the very large and incredibly heavy old awning and wood beams - he is tasked with properly disposing/paying for items he didn't even know about. I'm no accountant, but this job is costing Wes money. And crazy enough, he has been nothing but pleasant, punctual, informative, conscientious and diligent. All of this could have been avoided if, like promised, Brad or someone had come out prior to installation and inspected the job. AND if the installer, Wes, had been given the information needed to do his job. I am absolutely disgusted at the way this job was handled by everyone other than Wes. And, even if the solar panels could be easily replaced, I'm no longer interested in purchasing anything from SunSetter Awnings. It is very apparent that once I signed the dotted line, I was left hanging in the wind. I hope you do better by future customers, but it won't be because I recommended your company. read more

I am not one to write complaints unless absolutely warranted. But when I realized that it has been nearly two months (June) since ordering our awning, a complaint is warranted. The salesperson (Walter F.) explained that it would take a few weeks for our awning to come in. We were pleased when he called to say it was in because the wait had not been as long as we expected. We were told to contact the installer to schedule an appointment, which we have, several times. The installer (David H.) rarely takes our call but, does respond to text messages with false projections for when he will get to us. It has been almost two weeks and our awning has not been installed. To add insult to injury, our neighbor ordered her awning from Marygrove and it was installed within a month. She is enjoying sitting on her deck shaded by the sun, a joy we have yet to experience. I do hope we can have this opportunity before it gets too cool to worry about the sun. G&L Murray read more

I was looking into doing business with you all. But I do NOT like the complaints I'm reading here, smh. Complaints on not returning calls, ignoring calls for repairs, orders taking forever to receive and no feedback to customers on what the hold up is. These are all the things that would piss me off ESPECIALLY if spending so much money. You all have to get it together! Once they sell you an awning, it's like you can't get anyone to call you back, took three weeks and a threat to get them to install the awning and then when it needed repair, someone said they'd be over the next day and never heard from them again. We purchased our second awning from MooreShade4Less (MS4L) about six months ago from David. The purchasing process was simple and David did not pressure us, in fact, he provided information and helped us make an informed decision. Once the second awning was installed, we had a freak wind event that broke the metal arms on the awning. We called David, and he immediately responded to our awning emergency, arriving within minutes. David ordered a new awning and sent the old one back to Sunsetter to see why the metal failed. We needed an awning to cover our bbq area since its exposed to the sun everyday. I contacted the company and spoke to Dave, we made an appointment for him to see and discuss what was needed, explained everything in detail about the awning. The installation was completed in one day. Months after installation had an issue with the awning leaning to one side, called Dave he came out and fixed it within a week. I would recommend this company and interact with Dave. He is awesome and handles issues and concerns in a timely, friendly and professional manner. Call him, he is AWESOME!!! read more

Worse experience you can imagine. After their salesman John McIlvain sold us an awning, he ghosted us. Never returns texts, phone calls or emails, got his commission and ran. Only received one email from MOORESHADE4LESS after placing our order and it was a copy of the invoice. Three weeks after the promised delivery I tried reaching out for an update. John ignored every attempt I made to respond. Finally after many emails to John and copying their email address from website, Laurie responded. Her response was we don't know where the awning is, we think it is lost. We might have to order a new one. Laurie always told me that they would let me know something "the next day", but it was always me 2-3 days later of me having to reach back out to them. For weeks still trying to get an update and still get their "I don't have an update, I'll let you know something tomorrow". No awning, no information on when/if i'll get an awning, and multiple request for refund have been ignored. Their response to BBB complaint was the same "we don't know where it is". Oh, and don't contact Sunsetter corporate their response is "we have nothing to do with the companies that sell our awnings". Am so happy with my awning from sunsetter. The responses was quick from MooreShade4Less, and the gentalman who came out listened to what I wanted, gave me a lot of options, and didn't pressure me for just one option. He helped me decide on the best one for my home. The installers were professional, and had it up in under 2 hours. Could recommend them more if you want a quality awning that wil not only last but comes with a warranty. I have never experienced such terrible customer service as I have with this company. My HOA required that I use them for an awning and be sure that I will do everything possible to ensure no other community members have to use this company for their awning. I started the process in early June. Their documentation says 2-6 weeks for shipping. Mine took 11 weeks. I reached out to the sales person - Brian Dunn - so many times, I cannot count and he was less than responsive. When it finally arrived, the installer came and the entire unit was damaged so much so that nothing could be salvaged and the brackets were already drilled into my brick townhouse. There was no apology for this and after insisting, they agreed to give me the LED lights as compensation for the troubles. I expected something much greater than lights for all this trouble. They had to reorder all of the materials and I waited yet another month. It was finally installed in October. The sales person called immediately for payment but has yet to deliver any information about the warranty, a manual or an invoice showing as paid. The install for the awning we purchased is still not complete after several months. Now Mooreshade4less refuses to finish the job. During the first install attempt, they drilled right through the stucco. Then the bolt they used partially broke away from the house. We are fortunate that it didn't completely disengage. Hence the uneven awning. (See photo) Third attempt they put up a 6x10 board and now refused to fill the previous drill holes and paint the board. They are only interested in selling you an awning. I suggest buying directly from Sunsetter and hiring a reliable installer. read more

Customer service is frustrating as you will definitely have to wait until 2nd or 3rd party gets back to you. If I would not have checked on status of my order they would not have discovered they failed to process it. Their poor BBB rating reflects the company. My experience with MooreShade4Less has been very good. I called the company with a minor concern and left a message with a service rep. The owners called me back within the hour to determine how best they could help. They were able to address my concern/question and were a real pleasure to work with. It's clear that they care a great deal about the experience their customers are having and are willing to go above and beyond to ensure their customers are taken care of. Not only were they great to work with, but the awning itself is fantastic. We bought the 20' Motorized XL. It gets used every day. As far as installation goes, Kevin and his crew out of Frankfort, KY were great to work with. Kevin is a true professional and the work that he and his crew did exceeded my expectations (which were VERY high). This was a bit of a tricky installation over top vinyl siding and foam board and it couldn't have been implemented any better! Regarding the GA location - this is a terrible company. Upon receiving a big packet of marketing material in the mail, advertising great promotions from Sunsetter, I called them. They informed me they contract with a rep in my area, Brian Dunn, with Moreshades4less and told me to call him to purchase and perform the work. Brian had no problem calling me back right away and scheduling an appointment for a sale. On June 2, after a consultation at my house, the company charged my card for a new fabric cover, LED Lighted awning bars, and a new motor. It has been almost two months (about 1 month and three weeks) and with summer almost over, I still do not have my awning. I have repeatedly texted the rep at MooreShades4less and called Sunsetter over the past month to get an update on my order. The hold time for Sunsetter for the phones is about two hours. If you put yourself into the cue, then they call you back which, somehow, mysteriously always manages to go straight to your voicemail without a ring. They leave a voice message that says we tried to call you, please call us back. If you send them an email, you receive one back that says, "we know you are anxious to receive your awning and we are working hard with production and have been slowed down with COVID." I got in touch with someone today and I asked to speak with a supervisor. The phone rep told me there was no way of contacting a supervisor from her floor position and that she would have to leave a message and they would call me back. I told her they had until 3 PM to call me or the order would be canceled. It is 3.30 PM and surprise, no one has called me back. I also asked for the supervisor of the company they contract with - Moreshades4 less and no one there will return my phone calls either. I initially got in touch with the Moreshades4less rep about all the problems. After an extensive text thread where he even came to my house, he claimed he did not know who I was. As one of his clients, he did not bother to program in my number and record my name. He also told me he had no way of tracking down my fabric. Basically he is being paid to be the middle man and said he had no way of getting information from Sunsetter as to where my fabric was. What's more is Sunsetter is advertising extensive promotions. Yet, their phone voice messages state, they are having trouble keeping up with the demand due to COVID. Well, I ask myself, then why are you pounding customers with promotional advertisements you can't keep up with and charging peoples' cards two months in advance of orders that are still not here? furthermore, they are advertising several specials that they don't honor. I received glossy brochures advertising a free color changing mug and an awning cover. My rep did not know anything about this. He said he would check with the district manager and get back to me. He never did. Also, they have other ads enticing you in - "Save $500 when you upgrade to a new motorized awning". I was told that was for a new awning. Meanwhile, I purchased a new motor, new awning cover, and new lighted awning bars - so what qualifies as a new awning??? I finally canceled my order today after no one could tell me where it was and every phone call attempt was two hours. I have wasted so much time with this company. The whole summer has gone by and still no awning. I can only imagine if something went wrong, what it would be like to discuss a warranty issue. I will see if they refund my money as requested. If not, I will have to get in touch with my credit card company. read more
