Since I pretty much grew up in Moorpark, after being born in Camarillo; I, too, had worked through the whole Moorpark Unified School District system. The only problem I had here was my counselor playing favorites over ethnic backgrounds. I am dead serious. No I am not saying she was prejudiced, but it was kind of shady. Every time I asked her a question, she would somehow misunderstand it and say that she would keep my decisions in mind, until she helped Hispanic students. Of course, during this time, there was a program going around in getting more Hispanic educated and into college. There should be nothing wrong with this; however, I am merely stating that I should deserve the same one on one time. In the last two years, I did have a better counselor though and for that, I am totally happy for. All in all, for a high school that was known for their Academic Decathlon, FBLA, and football program; I was happy to be a Musketeer from 2004-2008. Sure I never was able to make it into Aca Deca, but FBLA was pretty cool (I placed 10th, in my Senior Year, in the Spreadsheets category- out of 10 people that had actually taken the test and still have not received my well deserved plaque) and the football games were fun to watch. Love the fact that the picture repping this place is Performing Arts building. Even though I had never participated in Drama, Theater, and Acting; I was able to be in a lot of movies in Lexington, KY. Field was beautiful, but the bathroom situation was disgustingly dirty and unhealthy.

Picking up your student at end of day is a nightmare. Kids walking in middle of parking lot driveway and scream obscenities at you if you have audacity to drive in lane. There is no supervision and place is in havoc. Need a school representative to keep kids in line and move traffic along. I remember kids being rude when I was in high school but the entitlement and disrespect displayed by students at Moorpark are tier one a**hole level. Hopefully these kids mature and realize how their actions can ruin someone's day. read more

I paid the school to send my transcripts to Moorpark college over two years ago and they never did. Because of this I might not be able to transfer and I already signed the lease for my apartment at my school as well as accepted my admission and registered for classes. On top of that the school never answers the phone so I can't even get in contact with them. When I called the voicemail box said it won't answer messages until august 16. Every time I go into the office the attendance lady "Belen" is so rude. Doesn't say hi. She says hi to the select few people she chooses to. As I stand there waiting for help she looks up and goes "can I help you?" Uh yea actually you can. That's why I'm here and it's your job to help?? Completely different demeanor to other people and it's obvious. At the back to school orientation she would not let me sign for my younger sisters off campus pass even though I check her out frequently and I'm on "the list" due to our mom working during school times. I asked if my mom was able to sign the off campus pass on the first day of school with no problems and that my mom doesn't have to come back while the picture people are still at the school to reprint the photo ID. She said NO and that signing the first day of school was OK. Our mom goes in after school on THE FIRST DAY back to school and she charges my mom $5 to reprint and says my sister can't go off campus for 2 weeks since they don't have the machine anymore. Wtf?!?! I literally asked her these questions at orientation. It's not even the fact that my sister can't go off campus because that's minuscule. It's the fact that she did not throughly communicate and she's so rude all the time. So ridiculous. Some students could do her job better than her. Not impressed. read more

I am a 2014 grad and I got bulled by students and the staff because of disability and that did not like me being razed my grandparents I also got my diploma when they did not think I could so jokes on them don't send your kid here if u can help it unless you want them to get bulled by staff and sudents read more

Moorpark Highschool isn't a great one but I guess it's not that bad for a public school I just graduated this last past month and my teachers throughout the past 4 years have been good. It's in a really convenient location being right next to a vons and other restaurants but a school always has flaws. When it comes to bullies this school does absolute dick they have no consideration for students that get bullied or have depression. Being as someone who has to help 4 kids with their bullies because I'm 6'3 i was dumbfounded at how when i take care of the problem my way they were so blind as to see that i was just defending a kid that couldn't defend himself. I was never served suspension but detention and restraining my job and liscense wasn't fun. In my opinion if you want your kid to be safe and be cared for don't send them to this school period... I don't know who's giving this school five stars but they need a fact check read more

Have family that go to moorpark high and I have volunteered in many ocassions and have to say the school is very much how it was in the 90's. Only difference today is all the extra curriculum they have for the children. The staff remains a mixture of new and old school individuals which brings a balance to the feel of the school. I agree that School policies should be followed by all that enter regardless of where your son or daughter is in the school. Our children learn what we teach them and I like the fact that the staff is understanding yet follow polices no matter what. The teachers and staff are unique as the students they teach. I wish they would have had this much stuff when I moved here read more

I came to see a soccer game 12/14 and Connie was very rude. I came from the valley to see some girls play and one of my parents bought me tickets. Connie did not believe us and made me pay again. I guess she really needs the money. read more

This school is amazing. My son can here for all four years and the teachers are super helpful and so are the counselors. He now attends Oxnard college and is training to become a firefighter. All sports programs are amazing and so are the people here read more
