But if you are, it's such a fun place to see the cutest dogs of all different breeds, or even bring your own along. They have so many vendors, from fresh flowers, produce, and meats to local organizations, museums, live music, and, most importantly, food. I love the variety of food you can try, and there are plenty of samples throughout the market. They also have a small kiddie play area, which is a nice bonus if you're bringing little ones. Just be prepared because it gets hot, there is no seating, and people can sometimes be rude or get a little too close in the crowds. That's pretty typical anywhere with a large gathering, though. These are a bit drier and denser than the other tofu products. They are wide and thin...almost ribbonlike. They're a byproduct of the tofu-making process. Rather than toss them, there's a vender here that bags these irregular bits and sells them, cheap. I like them because the are a bit chewy and textured. They don't fall apart during cooking. They hold up to being sliced in shorter pieces and stir-fried. One bag is enough for several meals Many bargains can be found here if you're adventurous enough to try new-to-you fruits and veggies. I recommend making a pass-through of the whole market before making purchases. Prices can vary from vender to vender. You can save quite a bit of money getting your produce here rather than at the regular supermarket produce department. That's if you are flexible in which veggies you purchase. This place tends to have all sorts of asian veggies and only a few of the more common ones.

I was able to snag some wonderful plant starts and the best pound cake from Taste of Pound. That orange pineapple is a show stopper. Who knew pound cakes come in so many flavors. Pay attention to package dates so you don't get items that have been sitting around. If you don't you are absolutely wasting your money here. I just opened some pretzels I bought 2 weeks ago and it's expiring today?! Always check expirations dates on their items and skip the bakery stuff. It really sucks when you get home and realize you waste money.

I was in the area buying fresh crabs at the Ferrari Fisheries pop up stand which was down the road... a few minutes drive. So I popped on over to Dave's. But wait a minute, the stand used to be named Vierra Farms. Same place, different name. Déjà vu. The stand sells fruits, vegetables, fresh cut flowers, local Becker honey, packaged dried fruit, frozen filleted fish from Ferrari Fisheries, and a variety of animal feed ( for horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, etc). The product pricing is on par with a grocery store or possibly cheaper; the quality is way better than my local grocer. I bought mandarins, onions, bell peppers, leafy lettuce, beets, and a flower. The flowers were $3 a stem. The produce looked all so gorgeous and fresh and tasted great.
