After extensive research, I decided to book transportation for my family with Moosecab. First off, I contacted several transportations services in Fairbanks, AK. Moosecab was the only company that responded promptly. The communication was fantastic in planning our few days in town. Andy and Georgie were amazing and provided great communication, insights for our custom itinerary, transportation, as well as hosting services. This was my first trip to Fairbanks and was really having a hard time deciding what to do, things to see and where to stay. Andy, our driver who lives in Fairbanks for 18 years, was very patient, friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us package price which is a great deal! (When Andy learned that we didn't see the aurora at the yurt and Chena Hot spring, he took us to the Murphy Dome which is a great place to view the aurora in Fairbanks (and we did see it!!!) and fish market to buy some cheap but tasty caviar (you can bring those with your carry ons!) And a big plus is Andy drives a BMW X3 SUV, awesome car and he drives very safely! I just came back from Fairbanks for a six days visit. Prior to my visit I was trying to arrange my airport pick up and drop off and other touring arrangement with a few taxi companies and pretty soon I decided to work with the Moose Cab instead. They have a fast and effective customer services. Gyorgyi is a wonderful person to work with. Her vehicle is very clean and organized. She was sensitive to my travel needs and was able to arrange the places where I wanted to visit on the city tour in one day. We had a great time touring the Fairbanks and the adjacent areas, 2 aurora viewing nights, dog mushing, Chena Hot Spring ice museum, and then the end of the airport ride. With this big package I was only charged with the reasonable rate. I was very amazed and grateful on her passion to work with people as well as viewing the aurora. To her, viewing the aurora is different each time and she would get excited easily when KP is high. From here I could see why she enjoys her job so much. One thing I have learned about Gyorgyi was her true Alaska spirit. On two separated occasions we had to stop the car to check on two strained rental cars. Gyorgyi was able to lend her helping hand to give the strained parties some advice on what to do next, and then took them in the back seat to give them a ride back to the hotels in the middle of the dark cold winter nights... I wish I could put 10 stars! We were in Fairbanks for 6 days and we used Moose Cab & Tours 4 of those days. Andy was fabulous! I booked him to take us to various excursions and then pick us up. Georgie and Andy were the best tour guide/drivers. Honest, reliable and felt like family! We started the trip on Saturday, picked us up at hotel, drove us to Chena hot springs which is a long drive. Told us about the ice museum and gave us a lot of time to enjoy the hot springs. Waited for us all day and then headed back to our hotel. Picked us up Sunday and took us dog sledding and tour of Fairbanks. Georgie really paid attention to what we wanted out of this trip and Sunday was all about catering to what we wanted. I honestly felt like I was with family. Gave us great history, fun stops, fair prices (not per person). I want to come again just to have them take us on more tours to hang out with them! It was my hubby's and my first time visiting Fairbanks, Alaska. We visited in the last week of March, and it was hard to bid goodbye to the beautiful place - partly due to the friendship we have forged with Andy, our tour guide-cum-driver. We were fortunate to have found Andy's cab service on Yelp and connected with him. For true Alaskan experience, he recommended us fun activities - ice fishing, dog sledding etc from reputable companies. Andy was very dependable - he arrived on time always and replied to messages promptly. An experienced and safe driver, he ensured our safety as we made our way to remote places for ice fishing and aurora viewing at night. Andy also showed us around downtown and shared history of some of the locations. His hospitable personality offered more than just a cab service - the conversations we had felt like meeting a new friend and having a peek into the lives of Alaskan residents. The highlight of our trip was definitely when Andy brought us to local stores to get snow crab legs, caviar and smoked salmon! It is with these wonderful memories that we recommend Andy's company. We highly recommend Moose Cab&Tours as they have exceptional service. We pre-arranged the majority of our travel and had the same cab driver the whole time which allowed us to get to know the driver better which we found much more appealing than Uber or regular taxi service. The cost was less than individual Uber and taxi trips, it was also less than renting a vehicle and we didn't have to drive ourselves on the snow and the ice. Additionally the driver knew exactly how to get to the places we wanted to go. And, the driver suggested a place that offered free trips to airport and railroad station as well as cheap shuttle trips allowing us to save even more money. They were always on time and have very nice vehicles. I felt safe with our driver due to excellent driving skills in difficult driving conditions. We scheduled a whole day with Moose Cab&Tours. We began by snow machining, we were picked up in plenty of time to get there, and the driver waited around three hours to take us to the next stop. We chose to change our scheduled plans to go to Chena Hot Springs as this was at a time when the restaurants are closed due to the Coronavirus. We mentioned in our conversation that all we really wanted to do was see the dogs at the kennel, but didn't even plan a dog mushing trip. The driver suggested alternate plans and arranged an impromptu personal dog mushing and kennel tour that fit right into our time schedule. Now that is service! The driver also suggested going to a couple of tourist spots that we had not considered. The driver knew exactly how to get to the places we wanted to go. and, as the place we chose to go was closer than our original plan they refunded the difference which we did not expect! [As a side note their quote for both of us to go to Chena Hot Springs was less than regular tours as tours charge by the person.] Due to the Coronavirus regulations a lot of our schedules changed but our driver managed to suggest many alternative options that were still open during this time. Our driver recommended the best shopping place (the one in town that still had groceries on the shelf) and waited patiently while we shopped for groceries. There was one small item that I did not find at the grocery stores that we went to due to the empty shelves at the stores during the Coronavirus scare and everyone stocking up. The driver actually found the item at another store and brought it to us on our last day. We can honestly say that our trip to Fairbanks was better due to the service from Moose Cab&Tours! read more

The best taxi driver in Fairbanks!! I was referred to Andy by Eleanor from "Just Short of Magic" a dog sled and mushing school outfit. So I called Andy to pick us up the following day when we arrive at Fairbanks. When we arrived, he was already waiting at the airport ready to go. He took us to the dog sled, and next day picked us up and drove us to Chena Hot Springs, all at a discounted package price because we also wanted to hire him on our trip back out to Fairbanks in two days. Every time he was prompt, drive safely and was our tour guide throughout Fairbanks and the surrounding area. Andy is very friendly, knowledgeable with the area. We wouldn't have been able to know where to go or what to see on our own without having to pay for an expensive tour, but he took care of it all. We ended up saving lots of money. He also took us to souvenir shops and a salmon processing plant and we bought a lot of salmon. All in all, it was a fantastic experience and I would definitely recommend everyone to call him. I couldn't imagine what our Alaska adventure would be like without Andy. I don't trust people easily but when I met him and discussed our itinerary, I had a gut feeling he's the right man for the job. Traveling alone with a child, I had to make sure the person that would drive us around is trustworthy and honest. And yes, he possesses all that. He did exactly what I told him to do. Always arrived on time during pick ups. He also doesn't mind waiting. He charges pretty reasonable. His other driver Cindy, was such a kind, wonderful lady as well. Both drives very carefully in slippery, frozen highway. Other cool thing about him is you can use his name and you'll get a discount..hahaha. He's knowledgeable and honest. Andy is not only the best cabbie we've ever had, but maybe the best all around guy. Hungary's loss is Fairbanks' gain. We ditched our tour guide, not necessary in Fairbanks, and our hotelier suggested having Andy drive us to our destination. We ultimately couldn't get there due to road conditions, so he took us on an impromptu tour on our way back to town. He was happy to return when we were done and as we were running low in cash, he said it was fine to leave at the hotel for him to pick up later. He listened to what we wanted to do in Fairbanks and made some terrific suggestions. Of all the activities planned by our (very expensive) tour guide, it was Andy's suggestions we enjoyed the most. What a disappointing and dangerous experience! We booked Moose Cab on the advice of a guide for an Arctic Circle tour. We booked approximately 60 days in advance. The night before our tour was scheduled to leave, we get an email informing us that our tour had been sold to another company that had a new itinerary. When we attempted to ask questions, we received no response. The tour company he sold us to gave us a driver with 7 years of driving experience (as an adult driver, no commercial driving experience), only 4 months of driving experience in Alaska, and only 1 successful drive to the Arctic Circle. We found all of this out after we had embarked on the tour. After we were stranded at the Arctic Circle at night in blizzard conditions with multiple calls to the Highway Patrol for help, we finally made it north to Coldfoot where we e had to spend hundreds of dollars on lodging and didn't make it back to Fairbanks again until late the next day with many many close calls on the road back. All with our 10 year old child in tow. We have reached out to them again but still no response. So, when Moose Cab tells you that they guarantee satisfaction, I can confirm that has not been our experience. read more

Booked 2 tours (Northern Lights and Dog Sledding) during a weekend trip in January. Initial inquiry was quick; however, responses didn't address my questions completely. You must pay in full before they accept your reservation and there are no refunds under any circumstances (something they do not tell you upfront in any communications or on their website). Details of the tours were not communicated well beforehand either. The first tour was the Northern Lights on a Saturday night. We were told to meet in the lobby of our hotel, but we had to go outside to ask after seeing a vehicle running outside. No big deal, but instead of being greeted professionally, it felt like I was being admonished because I didn't respond to an email and attempted phone call asking if we wanted to switch nights as the forecast called for cloudy skies. (I did give a number that had a typo, but curiously we had exchanged texts previously, my number was in the signature of all my emails and they did not try to contact us through the hotel). We went on the tour which turned out to be a drive to a "lodge" (which offered nothing much to do for several hours in this poor forecast situation except listen to the proprietor and driver chat. There were some basic beverages and the owner made some cookies and put on a short video on the NL for us, which was nice.) It was just a lot of money for a video and cookies; they should be better prepared to offer guests something more in poor conditions or maybe not go out at all. The dog sledding tour the next day was fun, though the ride was shorter than expected, just 20 minutes or so. We stopped in the town of North Pole on the way back and was taken to the local tourist trap, which turned out to be ok, but I had previously said we were not interested in doing this so the stop was unexpected. Gyorgyi was who I dealt with and was our driver. Overall, not a great customer service experience. We had a much nicer (and less expensive) experience with a competitor. read more

After reading all their great reviews I decided to use Moose Cab and Tours and am so happy I did. They picked us up from the airport with ease. We did a wonderful dogsledding adventure they suggested and LOVED it. Did a great city tour, a Chena Hot Spring tour and Denali Tour that we're all very enjoyable as well. Andy and Gyorgyi were always prompt and so much fun to spend time with and knowledgeable about the area. We always felt safe as they were both very careful drivers. Gyorgyi even stopped one day as we saw an overturned vehicle and she got out to see if anyone in it might be in danger! Fortunately the vehicle was empty. We left Alaska with more than just memories of these 2 fine people-we left with 2 new friends.
