I had Havana and fiancée had Traverse specialty drink. Traverse cherry drink was the best of the 2. Very good. The store/market part is little vendor spaces. Cute place but you could tell they were short a worker as there was no one at retail stuff check out area. Have to check out for them in different are than ordering coffee. I like looking at the handmade items along with the books There is usually some local artwork of interest. My experience with the person running the store was not as 'friendly' as some of the other posters. I was greeted pleasantly and made small talk while browsing. All was going well until the man at the desk asked me if I was taking pictures on my cell phone. I was standing near the front counter using my cellphone to text my friend where to meet me. I was so insulted and embarrassed in front of other customers. So be warned - phones away and hands up if you shop there.

Room to room, there is always something interesting to see. And the entire old basement is full of vintage furniture! Duluth Antique Marketplace just opened...all of the local antique stores said we should check them out and see what they're all about. No one we talked to had actually been there yet. I'd say that only one in 20 items in this store is actually an antique or something vintage. (But there seems to be more antiques in the basement.) DAM seems to mostly be a store with "up-cycled" merchandise, home-made crafts, reproduction antiques, and a few vintage items. I didn't see any hardcore high-end antiques. I saw a lot of things made out of painted wood, corrugated tin, pottery, and galvanized metal...you get the picture. Despite not really being a traditional antique store, I like what they're trying to do here. The store is large, bright, and everything is displayed nicely. There are a lot of bright, modern looking grays and whites. Everything still smells like new paint. There were two women scrambling around (The owners? Managers?) that we talked to quite a bit. Probably cover a few others, but those are definitely going to find something they like here. I'd say the taste overall skewed a little more cutesy than my own personal taste but I still found things I liked and would buy. And if I needed to buy someone a small gift for some reason, I'd definitely have this place on my list as places to look for that. Definitely worth your time to stop in and have a look around here.
