If you're looking for trendy outdoor themed name brand clothing, this apparently is the place to go. If you're looking for staff to help you pick out actual camping or hiking gear this is not the place to go. I live nearby and have gone in a few times for backpacking gear and supplies hoping to avoid a long drive to one of the big box outdoor stores. Every time at this store the staff have given wrong or bad advice. They either have told me completely wrong things about the gear they were selling, had no idea how basic camping gear worked, or didn't know they sold things I found a few minutes later in their store. 2 stars for the convenience factor. 0 stars for knowledgeable staff. read more

The staff here is rad. Always seem stoked to help out and offer advice. Just the other day, my dude there insisted on taking every pack off the wall, right before close, to make sure I had seen all my options and was happy with my choice... even though I'm generally a pretty easy sell. This is probably the only store I come to without a set purpose just because I know I'll never feel hassled or like a hassle. Whether I come in to stock up on summer t-shirts, pick up climbing gear just ask about new products, it's always a positive experience. The stiffs in Grosse Pointe really don't deserve this place, but I'm glad it's here. Oh, the music on hold sounds like a haunted carousel ride but I still dig it. read more

Great store with nice outdoor clothing and equipment. They are a little on the high price, however. But Moosejaw offers a 20% military discount!...except Patagonia products. The staff are very friendly and helpful with their customers!! Great experience! I will definitely return here again. read more

I've been going to Moosejaw since I was eight. I get all my camping gear I need right here. I got my first north face jacket here and my favorite water bottle here. The employees are great and the quality of the products is superb. I recommend this to anyone living or visiting in Grosse Pointe. read more

Although this is a small location, the staff were very friendly and helpful and my boyfriend and I found what we were looking for: a chalk bag and some chalk for climbing. I will definitely be returning to pick up some more gear in the future. read more

Ordered a jacket online for an upcoming alpine adventure. I paid extra for 3 day shipping with more than a week ahead of time. First of all, the shipping confirmation came without a carrier name or a working link. Then after the 3 days had passed, apparently the jacket was shipped back to them, not sure since nobody knows at this company. Then I guess they have re shipped it with another carrier, and didn't overnight it like they should have. Also have not received a refund for the extra shipping charge. I really like the store.. I do. They will order product in for you no problem...its this Moosejaw Rewards Site. They promise if you shop there you earn points to buy items on a Rewars Site. Conveiently the site has been down for 5 MONTHS... Thats not bad business...its unacceptable, and deceiving... I wouldn't be surprised if it was all ahuge SCAM. Great store! Amazing selection of kayaking gear as well as other great brands like Ezekiel and Volcom so I can look cute all summer long! I love the staff at Moosejaw, they always seem to be having a great time and are ready to help me find exactly what I'm looking for. read more
