From the very first visit, he made my son feel comfortable, and that's huge when it comes to kids' haircuts. Now it's something my son actually looks forward to. Jordi is always consistent clean cuts every single time, pays attention to detail, and really takes his time to make sure everything is right. Whether it's a fresh fade or just a clean-up, he gets it done exactly how we want it. The shop itself has a great atmosphere friendly, welcoming, and professional. Very disappointed with my experience at Moose's Barbershop and Shave. The staff came off as extremely lazy and unmotivated. No one wanted to cut my friend's hair or his son's hair, which was honestly shocking for a business that's supposed to provide a service. The overall attitude was unprofessional and made us feel unwelcome, like we were inconveniencing them just by walking in. Walk-ins are an option but I booked my appointment in advance since the holidays are here and I wanted to secure my session. I booked my appointment with Aaron since his profile showed plenty of customer haircuts that are the same as mine (fade). Upon arrival I noticed that almost every chair had a customer sitting in it. The atmosphere was upbeat. I met Aaron who greeted me and quickly got to work. I was very happy with the results. Clean and exactly what I requested. Cards and cash accepted. If I could give no start I would. I liked moose barber shop. It was perfect when they first opened up. I use to treat my family and take my brothers & dads here. Always told my cousins to go here. Now I recently started taking my boyfriend. How tragic in the past 3 times we've gone he's never gotten a haircut. We have called and made an appointments in the span of the last 3-4 months. I call to make his appointment and I show up at the time they tell me too and once I send him in the gentleman he's supposed to be with is on a different person. I think what they lack is a proper scheduling system and don't know communication. It's 2023, it shouldn't be that hard. This place is a joke. No stars if I possibly could. Went in for a haircut and got treated like if I was getting a free haircut. A bit older lady at the desk got up and attended me to the chair. As soon the haircut began she remembered to go talk to another barber for 5 mins. Finally it was time and I got my over due haircut. While she was trimming the side burns a gentleman walked in and the chatter began again. She began showing him the trimmer and cursing while I sat there in my misery. Mind you she still hasn't apologized. Finally the hair cut ended and she handed me the mirror. Drum rolllllll..... She f****d up! She trimmed a size shorter and had the audacity to tell me that the hair cut looked better than what I asked. My son and I have been coming here off and on since I moved to the area 4 years ago. It's always been fine. We go back and forth between another shop in the area. But I have to say I will never go back to Moose's due to my last experience. I called to make an appointment and was greeted by a very rude employee. In a brief conversation, Erica managed to be very condescending, rude and short with me. I was as polite and as clear as possible with her too. I am in the service industry so i make it a point to be overly nice with others in the service industry. This one just had a horrible attitude. Sorry, but you just lost 2 customers due to one bad employee. Also, the way you pay for your haircuts here lately seems very shady. Not sure what's going on with that. read more

A third time (there is never anyone to greet you or take a reservation) that confirmed these were want-to-bes pretending to be upscale, but most definitely were not. I followed a barber to Moose's Barber Shop, from another barbershop. His name is Oliver. Oliver the barber. I have two teenage boys and they know how they like their hair. We had too many bad experiences with stylists and barbers. Up until we met Oliver the barber, my kids did not trust anyone with their hair. I'm not even sure how I found Oliver but I know he has lifelong customers in us. He truly listens to my kids thoroughly as they explain they're cut. Beware. I took my son here, it was probably the worse experience I've ever had at a barber. Bottom line, don't go here. We walked in and a Barber was available right away. So far so good. I showed a picture to the barber and she acknowledged, it seemed like we were on the same page with what I wanted done for my son. Then she start hacking away, doing her own thing. Not even close to what we had talked about. Anyways the haircut was terrible and she ended up going way shorter than anticipated because how bad it was. A scissor cut turned into a fade... yikes. Besides the haircut, she was so rough with my son. She would hold his head in the position that she initially wanted him in, but then push his head further down and keep telling him to hold still. He wasn't moving away from her, but she kept pushing down down on his head. Did you want him to bend over? Well maybe lower the chair? Or take him off of the 2 booster you put him on? Not going back. I highly recommend this shop. Top class cuts. I highly recommend getting cut by Erica. She is worlds beyond skill level and has lots of patience. I came to her with my kids to get their cuts and she out preformed other barbers that I have been to. My daughter has autism and Erica was calming and soothing. My daughter usually can not sit still and hates when people touch her hair. Erica showed my daughter the items she was using and showed that they did not hurt. My daughter then allowed her to cut and the cut came out amazing. My daughter never would let anyone do that. And I also brought my 1 year old son for his first cut. I called to see if they had availability to get my teenager's haircut, they said yes they could take him. We arrived, checked in, and the guy said I'll get you, give me a minute. He sat there for 30 minutes not one person with empty chairs checked on him or anything. The place was completely empty and we understand if they had other appointments but not one person walked in. We have been here before a couple of years ago and it was pretty good. One of them could have taken him. They just lost a potential client. Worst customer service ever! read more

I've been going to this barber shop for nearly ten years and I really do appreciate the quality that most of the barbers provide here. Lately however, I feel like they've been going downhill with newer barbers, prices raising, and cancellation policies. I made an appointment with a regular barber I've been going to for a year now, but was unable to make it at that time and asked to reschedule for another time slot. I was told to schedule with another barber and charged a cancellation fee. I understand $10-$15 due to equipment setup & time, but $25 to me is absurd. I always made sure to contact the barber if I was coming in a bit late, but I've had many occasions where I came in early and still had to wait 15-20 minutes into my slot due to a customer still being cut, which I don't think is fair. I also scheduled an appointment with a different barber, Adrian, later on in the day, but was cancelled on and he didn't respond back to me stating the reason. I miss how their services were before but it's getting more expensive now and customer fairness is getting worse. I still respect the work that they do, but they could handle their customers with better service and communication. read more

Living out in the Otay area its been difficult to find a GOOD local barber without having to drive 30+ mins out of the way. Thankfully I found this place which is convenient and so close to home. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH TERESA. I never post poor reviews on yelp, this is cause for an exception. Made an appointment for my little brother here, he had been growing his hair out all year and wanted to keep most of his length on top (~7 inches ). He asked for 2 inches off top and a 2 on the sides. She proceeds to hack away at his neck, forcing and pushing his head aggressively. She had been so aggressive with shaving the back and sides of his head that she caused rashes all over him (pics attached), she sprayed him with something that stung that he said "ouch" and she snapped back that he was just being sensitive. The entire haircut she seemed like she was in such a rush (for what???? How can you ever have repeat clients with this etiquette?) and it showed horribly on my little brother who felt like the lady didnt care about him at all. She was incredibly rude the entire time "if you don't like me dont ask for me again" to my little brother who had been looking forward to a haircut for months as hes barely getting back to school. Worst experience ever for him and I'm so upset that we had the bad luck of such a horrible barber. Oh, and she ended up cutting way more than she was asked to and when my brother pointed it out she said that too late she already cut it too short. Customer service here is nonexistent. There was a guy (tall older gentleman wearing a warriors hat) cutting hair at the first chair when I walked in. I watched him completely blow off 2 customers who came in asking for a haircut. If you don't know the barber and don't have an appointment, don't come here.
