But here we were traveling far from home visiting family in Chula Vista and they needed to get cleaned up quick. I only trust folks with legit skill and often those barbers require appointments. I was so glad to have found a joint that welcomes walk-ins, just five minutes away! High fade, undercut, comb over. Came out looking a little different, which is to be expected given different barbers were assigned to each of my kids; and each of my kids have different hair textures. 40 min later, voila! $35 each + tip. I've been taking my son here the past two years now and each and every time he's gotten his cuts it's always been great. He even looks forward to them every time and calls our go to barbers by their first names. The owner and his barbers are always friendly and accommodating, very professional. All the barbers in here do excellent work the ones I've gone to are usually Carlos or Luis both are awesome. Highly recommend and it doesn't hurt to make an appointment eventhough they take walk ins. I came on a day that seemed busy but within minutes I was already next. The place is super clean and everyone person I've seen come through there walked out with a clean cut. I'm really glad I gave them a chance because now I have a place I can go to that's super close to me. The only thing I would say that could be addressed or advertised better is the parking situation. I live in Chula Vista area and I have seen this business go up since it was an empty space. I usually walk to the gym from my house and I pass by this business 4-5 times a week and get a nice peek inside every once in awhile. I usually am very picky on who I let cut my hair, but when I needed my barber for an upcoming event he was out of town so I was in need and decided to give this place a shot. I scheduled an appointment with Savage and was in a rush coming back from the gym, so I was a little sweaty. I apologized and he gave me a quick rinse. We had a great conversation and he explained to me how long he has been cutting hair and showed me other designs he has done in the past with other clients. The barbershop was clean and had televisions for clients to view while waiting and while getting haircuts. During my haircut, I noticed how every barber there cut great hair and how amazing each client looked after each cut! Once he finished with me he handed me the mirror and I was amazed!!!! It was a phenomenal haircut and he automatically made me switch barbershops!!! The positivity is great and the owner is awesome! Now every time I walk by the barber I say hi. Brought my son yesterday (6/17/2020), it wasn't until we got home and the gel wore off to realize that the barber completely messed up the top of his hair. The fade is nice and decent but the scissors cut on top of his hair is really bad. I was going to schedule an appointment for myself but rather look for another place. Upon walking into the door, I was greeted with smile and a "good morning." I was 5th in line as the shop had just opened this morning. So I had an opportunity to view all barbers in action and the different styles around the room. I noticed something very important, every fade; was gradual in nature and blended very well. Each Barber took their time to pay attention to detail and it the outcome on each customer was very nice. My cut was executed by Edel. He's a courteous person and genuinely gives a damn. My new go to barber shop in my area, Otay Ranch. I have been a salon customer and never try a haircut in a barber shop before. This is my 1st time in here, and my expectations were achieved far and beyond. The haircut is cheaper than the salon and services are far up above. This was my first time trying a new barbershop in a long time. I had very high hopes based on the reviews and the ratings and I thought my experience would also be the same. After my first visit this is what I've noticed and hopefully for anyone who is thinking of trying a new barbershop to keep in mind. -The barbers there do not know how to cut the top of the hair all they do is focus on the sides if you want a hairstyle do not go to this place -be adamant in what you want bring a photo. if you don't they will not listen to you and they will cut your hair and do anything they want: don't let them screw you over -compared to the hairstylist that I wanted to switch from this only reassured me that barbers do not have the experience to cut hair on the top of the head. Additionally I told the barber that was my first time coming to a new place and he happily greeted me with no hospitality. I know I have to get another haircut to fix what they did. This is only my review and this is only my opinion all I want to make sure is that the people that are getting haircuts and invest their money and their time will know what they are getting into. read more

Masterpiece has got to be one of the top shops in South San Diego. It's in a new development so everything looks new and modern. There is room for about 13 chairs and they regularly get a steady flow of customers who fill them up. The barbers are all solid. You can tell that they know their craft based on the time they take and the tools they use. You also have a good amount of diversity among them so you should feel comfortable coming here with any hairstyle, whether straight, wavy, curly, or coarse. I personally go to Miguel. He has taken care of me for the past 3 years with excellent cuts, great product recommendations, and hair style suggestions. The only con is that it's a bit out of the way if you're closer to the central San Diego area. To some, a 20 minute drive is worth it for a good cut. Either way, this is one of the few places I'd recommend that you take a chance on. read more

I got Edel hooking me up with a high skin taper and he is a natural. It's crazy because all the other guys do a fantastic job with the clippers too and the prices are easily affordable.
