This is the worst place to put a family member, due to constant visits from the state and lack of care.

South Hill Village management is horrible. All they care about is the money they can receive from…read moretheir residents. Watch out for their non refundable fee they quote to just belong to their community. It is a scam. I have heard them quote anywhere from $3,000 to $8,000 while pretending to do you a favor saying, "that they will help you out by taking it off your monthly rent but don't tell anybody because your family will be the only family receiving this great deal". There is no genuine care shown towards the residents at all. They are extremely understaffed. There is no acting nurse. The is no acting director of the whole property. The food program is not eatable. The same menu just keeps revolving week after week after week. The place is dirty with no basic cleaning of the floors, laundry rooms and bathrooms. South Hill's corporate office has no clue how the property is even ran. Their best effort is to just send in bodies and platoon most positions. My dad was there many years and towards the end they treated him very poorly. Save your families time, money and hardships and go to a much better facility like the Gallery just down the street. Thank you for looking.

I have left multiple voicemail messages, all unanswered, and sent several emails, but still no refund. I would like this to be rectified as soon as possible. Leaving a review on Yelp is a last resort, and I don't take any pleasure in doing so. But short of hiring a lawyer, I don't know what else to do.

I concur with my brothers rating (Dave A.). There are even more disturbing facts:…read moreFact 1: I relocated back from California to Spokane in October 2022, living only 20 minutes away. I routinely visited my mother up to three/four times/week at Brookdale Park Place. My brother also routinely visited my mother from Redmond. (see FB posts). Fact 2: I filed 2 complaints with the WA State Dept. of Health. All involving the DPOA daughter) and one involving Arbor Rose (AR). FACT 3: My mother lived in fear of her DPOA and her retaliation. (documented) FACT 4: I will be filing a third complaint involving the DPOA and AR, allegation of wrongful death and intentional infliction of emotional stress on my mother and myself. The DPOA prevented me from seeing/holding my mother prior to her death. -Complaint 1: I met with a DSHS complaint inv in 2022 to reviewed a video I had taken of my mother speaking with her DPOA. She was visibly/ verbally upset with her DPOA and threatened suicide during the call. The complaint was investigated and shockingly ... "no findings". - Complaint 2: Involved the DPOA suddenly initiating a transfer from the Brookdale where my mother resided for 6 years to Arbor Rose Adult Family Home. On May 5th during a face-to-face meeting with Becky Tiller (TillerCare.com) Becky informed me the REASON my mother was being transferred to Arbor Rose AFH was "she required a higher level of care". I was the SVP for Start Communities for over ten years/owning/operating IL/AL/MC communities, and I informed Becky adult family homes did not offer a "higher level of care" as defined by WA. State. I documented this fact thru an email I sent to my brother and sister informing them of my concern. No reply from the DPOA. I documented my concerns in a letter to my mother w/in 48 hours of her move to Arbor Rose (AR) informing her I was willing to relocate her back to her home of six years and purchase replacement furniture because my sister had told her she sold and/or donated all her furniture except her TV/Bed and clothing items. She refused to move for fear of my sister's retaliation. Many of the personal items I had given my mother in Spok. were left in a box at Brookdale for me to retrieve. - I rec. an email just 2 weeks after her move into AR informing me my mother was "lonely/depressed" because she moved from a 1 bedroom apt/living room/kitchenette (approx. 800 sq ft) with onsite RN/LN's M-F and was not living in an 80 sq (approx.) bedroom w/shared living room/dining room/toileting/bathing accommodations at Arbor Rose and with no daily onsite RN/LN supervision. Recall... my mother was moved to AR because it was HIGHER level of care? Results: "No Findings" (again) COMPLAINT 3 (yet to filed): In Dec. I received a copy of a test message DPOA sent to a personal friend of mine who visited her at AR/ Linda, that Linda was no longer able to VISIT my mother UNLESS she was accompanied by my sister (who lives in Kennewick) because she (DPOA) had initiated a "new visiting protocol". Two days later (12/27) I spoke with my mother on the phone. She asked when i was going to see her...I told her i would visit on 12/28 because I was moving to Phoenix. I called her at 530P on 12/29 and asked my mom to sit by the front window when I arrived suspecting staff may not let me see my mom. I arrived with a friend at 6P. My mother was not at the door ... I was met by Steve Andrews "President" AR. I introduced myself and he promptly refused to allow me into AR to see my mother stating "he would call the police and Mardell" if I tried to enter. I politely excused myself. This interaction was recorded by my friend. FACT 5: Steve Andrews refused to allow me to see my mother. I moved to Phoenix w/out seeing my mother. FACT 6: Steve Andrews told his staff to not allow me to speak to my mother on the phone AFTER I moved to Phoenix. I tried on several occasions in Jan/Feb to unsuccessfully contact my mother on the phone. I recorded the final conv. I had with a caregiver where I was told I could NOT SPEAK to my mother. When asked who instructed the caregiver not to put my calls through, he stated "the DPOA, Mardell. FACT 7: May 8th I was informed by my bro. my mother had been transported to SHMC and placed on Hospice. FACT 8: May 9th my brother/friend informed me my mother had experienced a change in health condition approximately three weeks earlier. I was informed the DPOA stated " it was nothing serious, she was just depressed". My brother/Faye were so concerned they drove to Spokane. Only then did Steve Andrews and/or the DPOA transport my mother to SHMC. FACT 9: May 9 my brother Face Timed me from SHMC where my mother begged me to come see her as soon as I could/she was dying. I could not get to Spok. in time for her to hug me one last time. FACT 10: I arrived In Spokane on 3/10. My mother was comatose and unable to speak/respond. I stayed by her side until 9A. FACT 11: My mom passed at 930A w/only my bro-in-law at her side.

The doctor said that it was one of the worst dehydration cases they had ever seen. Each time I tried to visit her they would tell me she was resting and dealing with a UTI.
