Listen, I thought he was a great Doctor, he is very knowledgeable and very straight forward but I just learned the hard way that he has zero ethics and it's very sad someone that I trusted made me feel like they just stabbed me in the back for money. I was just charged 40 dollar co-pay for a free(insurance)preventive annual exam and I'm like why am I being charged, it should be free? So I looked on my bill and it just says professional services for 563 charged to my insurance for an annual physical. Which is really high, my nurse friend told me it should have been half of that. I looked deeper and he added a office outpatient charge on top of my annual phsyical. He literally asked me if there's any other issues going on. And I said, I have neck pain and then he touches my neck for no more than 30 seconds. Talks to me for 3 minutes about neck pain. Prints me off a bunch of exercises that his nurse gave me. And that was it. No more than 5 minutes of talking about neck pain. After this, I am so confused. What the heck is an annual physical if you're not talking to your doctor about any issues annually at the doctors visit. So now I am getting charged 300 plus dollars to my insurance if you mention an ailment at your physical? The billing woman I talked to literally said it was my responsibilty to tell the doctor first that I don't want to be charged extra before I start talking to him and that I should have researched what my insurance pays for before going in. I've never dealt with my doctor charging me extra for having a conversation at the doctors for annual exam. This is absolutely insanity. I will no longer see Dr. Marc Harvey which sucks, because I have to go through finding a good doctor again which is hard doing research on. But I will not have someone that has zero ethics working on my going forward. This is sad and I feel very sorry for him that money has taking over putting care first with patients. Very sad.

It's not all that often that I go see the doctor, but when I do it's a good experience with him and the staff from the Mecklenburg Medical Group. My previous doctor was pretty good as well... but a little too good. It was really hard to get an appointment with him when/if I needed one so I sought out a new doctor. Luckily I came upon Dr. Shelton. The office is located in Southpark so it's pretty convenient from most places in Charlotte. Parking is never an issue. I did have to get used to e-prescriptions. I guess I'm old skool in that I expect a little piece of paper to take to my Pharmacy... but they just send it electronically and the prescription is waiting for me when I get there. Not that Dr. Shelton is one to dispense pills to treat you, but we discuss the options and it feels like I make an informed choice whenever I visit this doctor's office. Dr. Shelton is a part of CMC and have a vast network of Doctors to pull expertise from as well. I've had a couple referrals and they turned out great.

She orders very expensive tests, all which I found were proven to be unreliable when I researched them myself. She prescribes herbal supplements that are very expensive. I am glad I stopped seeing her as I think it would have been more thousands of dollars of never-ending tests followed by expensive supplements, and more tests. Nothing is covered by insurance. I found that all my issues were solved by cutting out caffeine, cutting down alcohol, and getting off hormonal birth control.
