When I was stationed overseas they were helpful with getting me setup with what I needed to do 5 gallon batches of beer. There is not enough great things that can be said about these folks here! Very friendly and knowledgeable, willing to help you with whatever problem you come across while brewing... especially Rob. Every time I start a batch where I have a question they are my first stop, even before YouTube. And chances are that if the shop doesn't have the particular ingredient in stock the site does and only takes a few days to get to you. I shop at More Beer all the time and it escapes me to give them some love on Yelp. They always go above and beyond to help a customer. If they don't have it in stock they will order it online and have it shipped to you. They are super supportive of local home brew clubs from offering discounts, hosting club meetings to being a regular part of the California Homebrewers Association Festival. Best Beer Brewing Supplier in the Country!

Good place to get supplies, prices are competitive on majority of the items. Smaller location however a lot of stuff crammed inside. Staff will answer questions, when you can get them out of the back office. Counter staff can be dry, not personable, and answers questions as if its a burden. Rob has been great, proactive with customers. If only everyone followed his role. I know what to expect so Im okay with it, just wish it was a better environment like other establishments. Dont let my review of the customer service scare you away, they have what you need usually. read more

Not once did they make me feel like an idiot because I didn't know the difference between all grain and extract brewing. Nice to have a place here in Riverside. New to the brew business. Shop appeared well stocked with gadgets everywhere. Was in the shop for 35 minutes looking lost and wasn't sure what to get. A few employees walked by me without offering assistance. A little disappointed at this but I finally checked out with a few items and that's when the guy at the counter was very receptive and helpful to my relief. Hope next time I go in they would be able to be a little more welcoming. I will shop there again soon. read more

Great store with lots of stuff for the home brewer. The customer service was really good and they helped me find everything I needed to get my home brew off and running. I would, however, like to see a selection of canned malt extracts, they have none. This store is for the dyed and true pure home brewer, I like to keep it nice and simple and the malt extracts make it simple. Other than that it is a really good store. read more

I must agree with the user called Kerry W. ; There is nothing more rude than an employee that talks down to a customer. I think I know who he is talking about, cause it has happened to me before. I was in the more beer in riverside close to the start of jan 2012 and I was looking for German wheat yeast. They had the yeast I wanted there but it was close to the exp date and I wanted viable yeast. There was a cart with new product there next to the cooler where the yeast was kept and I saw that the strain I wanted was there with a very good date on the vial. I proceeded to open the bag when one of the workers came up to me and said in and rude voice [like you would to a thief] 'what can I get for you'. I told him that I wanted the German wheat yeast WLP300 and he proceeded to tell me right back that 'what you want is in the cooler there'. I told him that I wanted a vial with a much later expariation date than the ones in the cooler. He asked how many I wanted, and handed me the vials in a manner that he had no choice but to give it to me. What a joke!; and to think he is still working there. *unrelated to the above point and a few weeks earlier*; I wanted to brew up a quick batch of beer using plisner LME [liquid malt extract} as the main malt in the beer. I did use other malts but that being the case; pilsner LME is supposed to be a very light almost banana yellow in color due to its rating of 1.5-3. I have bought LME from several online companies before and that is exactly what I got from them is the light yellow color. However this was not the case from more beer in riverside. The malt extract was not even slightly yellow, and was more of a darker amber in color. I have even had this happen with light malt extract syurp some months before this incidient, and it was foolish of me to think this would not happen again. Dont get me wrong; the batch I brewed made the big breweries taste like crap in comparasion, but I wannted the color to be expected of pilsner. I even took a little of my pilsner LME and added a little water to see if it was just a temp thing unitl I boil the wort. Sad to say this was not the case. Why would anyone want to due business with a company that obviously just stuck a label on bag "x" and called it whatever they wanted. The whole grain(s) they have available is of a good quality and I will contine to go there; and while the LME has told me to stay away; the DME [dried malt extract] is actually true to name and comes in a clear plastic bag so you can inspect it. I would give the store only 1 star for the rude employee, but the shear product knowledge and customer service from the rest of the staff is spot on. While the shop is limitied on its grains, hops, and DME's, They do have much more equipment than expected, and you can grind your grain for free, unlike with online retailers. read more

I've been a home beer brewer for about ten years. During that time I have dealt almost exclusively with Beer Beer & More Beer. During that time there has been very little turn over of help, some, not many. Consequently, almost all the people working there are pretty knowledgeable and are able to answer just about any brewing question. They have everything you need either in stock, or quickly obtained. The negative complaints I read must have happened on really busy days. I have never had a bad experience at the place. Yes, I have been there on very busy days but it just gives me more time to browse. If you go in there seeking an entire lesson on home brewing on a busy day and don't get it, pick a better day. You are not the center of the universe and those of us who know what we want would not want to wait hours for your education. Further, everything you ever wanted to know about home brewing can be found on the Internet. There brew demonstration days are very, very busy. They're busy because those boys know what they are doing and people know they can learn from the demonstrations. It isn't a day to go shopping. It is a day to set back, watch, ask questions and learn. read more

Overall, 3B could be a great place for brewers of all skill levels. I used to brew on a regular basis, but having had a few set backs, and then full time school, I admit I have been out of the "brewing" for a few years. I purchased a "Kit" to get back into the swing of things, drove home, got my old kettle out and clean, filled up with water, gas on, and opened the "Kit" found the grains, and, ... no grain bag. Had to drive back to B3 for a .75 cent item. Told the cashier they should tell people that there certain "necessary" items missing from the "Kits". I went back home, started the gas up again, got things going, brewed up the beer, chilled it down, and then... no yeast comes in the Kit" either, and now, it was after closing time. Yes, 3B COULD be a great place to go, the prior owners used to actually sell you a complete kit to brew with, maybe 3B should do the same. I am disappointed in the so called "Kits" they sell, but as someone else pointed out, there is no other competition so I will be going there to buy, I will just make sure I know what I need, and check every item twice before I leave. read more

Stopped by after work on a weekday and they were super nice. When you're new to the hobby, homebrew shops can be a little intimidating, but the guys here were friendly and nice and there were lots of other folks shopping, including several women and couples (always a plus for a homebrew shop in my opinion!) buying gear and ingredients so I didn't feel like a moron. Much better experience, and much better selection, than Homebrew Provisions in Fullerton. read more

Great place to get supplies and information. Customer service is great, but there is usually not enough staff to help everyone. Waiting around is not the worst as there is a lot if items to look through. Brew demo days are busy, but there's a schedule on the web page so you know what days to avoid. read more

Iveonly dealt with the mail order service, but I have been exceedingly satisfied with each shipment. The liquid malt is the cheapest I've found anywhere, the ingredients are competitively priced and fresh, and the one time I had a faulty product, they replaced it promptly and without hassle. read more

Every trip I have made has been great. There brew days they answer every question you may have. They have all the supplies you need and have the answers. some times they are busy so you have to just be patient. This was a great little place. Conveniently located (I drive past it every day to and from work and didn't even realize). I eat traditional foods and came by here to pick up some airlocks to create a couple of "Pickle-it" jars for making sauerkraut. Being just a couple days before Christmas, they were extremely busy, but they had plenty of employees, one of whom took time to help me find what I needed (I felt like a lost puppy since this was my first visit to a homebrew store). I will definitely be back as I also make Kombucha and saw some beautiful flip-top bottles perfect for keeping my brew nice and bubbly. It felt great supporting a small, local business.
