Before I travel I always research the best thrift stores. This was one that popped up on my Wanderlog app as a top place for designer finds. There were 4 staff there when I went in and everyone was so friendly and helpful. They made suggestions, confirmed the way items looked on me. Sometimes you need a good helpful second opinion before a purchase. Since I looked at the stores website before I came, I knew for sure some pieces I wanted right away. I lucked up and got a cute Ralph Lauren dress and a Georgio Armani dress. I bought some jewelry and some Amina Muaddi shoes. And a cute chill pill purse. Two weeks later.... I finally received a check for $100. Apparently now the story is "they sold the shoes for $200 and my half is $100" This is the same pair of shoes they initially say they "gave away to charity." I have asked for the sale receipt or something to show me if they really sold it and for how much. read more

This may be the absolute worst place to consign. My review is completely based on consigning my items. I had three items I turned over to them to sale. The staff at first seems helpful there's a gentlemen with glasses in the front who was very nice when I came in the first time. I signed up for consignment in September for 3 months. During that time I moved to a new town. I communicated this to the owner and her daughter. I was told they'd ship the items to my new location and I'd just have to pay the fee. That is perfectly fine I was more than willing. Fast forward to December, I am calling and emailing these people insistently! I keep getting the run around, "they'll call me back." I was requesting to know the dollar amount to ship my items to me. Why couldn't someone email me back? I swear I called over 5 times trying to get that information. My fear was they would try and keep my stuff and act like I never attempted to retrieve them. It is now January and as a fed up wife I did what any wife would do, I asked my husband to call. The added bonus to that was my husband is a lawyer. Within an HOUR of having my husband call as my lawyer Vicki was high tailing it to the post office to mail me my things. She told my husband I never paid for the shipping. To which he asked" did you ever tell her the price?." Vicki admitted she did not which made my husband laugh. How am I suppose to pay for shipping when you refused to communicate what the actual price was?' These people are sketchy. I would not consign ever again, they have some nice vintage Chanel pieces in store tho. read more

WARNING- Do not Consign here. I had my items here for 5 months. I checked website regularly and never were my items posted for sale. I called for updates and always had the answer "we will call you back". I never received a response. I had to follow up numerous times . Finally my 90 day period came up and I was told none of my items were sold. When I tried to pick up my items, I again was told "we will call you back". I'm frustrated at the lack of customer service and communication. They seem extremely helpful in person but once you leave the store, little to no communication. I will not return and I do not recommend shopping here or consigning your items unless you want to waste your time. read more

Don't shop or consign here. Terrible customer service especially from the owner. I left thousands of dollars of merchandise and some items were returned incomplete, others damaged. They will not give you an itemized list of things they are holding, they won't respond to phone calls, employees aren't entrusted to answer questions. (I would have rather dealt with the employees as they are much nicer than the owner) who looks down on people of color. Checks are late and items are discounted after they tell you they will not be. Prior to me consigning with this company, I used to always frequent them. Once I consigned with them, it has been a nightmare. So unprofessional. Waiting on a phone call, email or any communication from them is a joke. I was told one price for the items I can signed, but instead my check reflected, something totally different. As a preface, I've emailed the owner, Mauri, to let her know about my experience prior to this review and she chose not to respond. If you are looking to consign clothes here, proceed with caution. I highly recommend you not leave your clothes with this store. On three separate occasions I brought clothes in to consign and was told that it could take up to two weeks to receive prices on the items, which is understandable. Two weeks came and went on the first batch and, as myriad other reviews will reaffirm, this store simply does not respond to your emails when you inquire. I called multiple times to ask about the items and the co-owner, Vicki, was rude on the phone and said I needed to wait two weeks. (In person she was just as condescending on multiple occasions. Based on this attitude you may be surprised to find out they sell used clothes.) I mentioned that it had already been longer than two weeks and she simply said I needed to wait and hung up. I finally got the prices on these items about three weeks after bringing them in. I liked the prices and was nonetheless excited to do business with them. I brought in numerous other clothing items. Three weeks, again, had passed and I called and explained that, despite sending numerous emails to Mauri, she had, yet again, not cared enough to respond. The gentleman that works there then told me that all of my items were ready to be picked up. I was confused, as I did not request this. It is clear that Mauri or Vicki was upset that I was rightfully asking why my clothes are not being processed within the long window they say to wait. This action appears to have been a breach of their contract, as there is no mention that the store can do this. (Note: if you request to pull your items early they will eagerly charge you $10/item.) Other reviewers explain nearly identical situations happening to them and the store usually responds saying that such a review is malicious or libel and that they will be prosecuted(?). It is actually incomprehensible why this store runs their business like this--especially considering they make money by having consigners come to them and give 50% of the sale price to the store. I could not imagine why a business would want to treat their customers like this, but it is clear my experience with MTYCI was not an isolated incident. You would do much better to find a store that actually treats you with some semblance of respect. It is wild that on the Google review I left she responded trying to gaslight me by saying she sent messages saying she was not going to sell my items. A look on her responses to other reviews will attest to her tendency to gaslight and try to intimidate. read more

The place is ok, nothing special to write home about or visit. The prices are on the high side, so be aware of what you may be potentially buying before you actually buy something. Before I get bashed, I shop at consignment stores all over, so I am very aware of what prices are for items. The girls are super personable and seemed friendly. Left designer items with original receipt for over six months. Everything didn't sell, understandable. Not only does it take them days, or weeks in some cases, to return a call or email, but after finally speaking with someone, they didn't have the remaining items ready when she said they would days in advance. Then, they didn't have a manifest or invoice of what did sell vs what was left. We simply got a bag of items and a check with no explanation. A designer bag was given to them with the original receipt we got when it was purchased and they lost the receipt. But "don't worry," she said, "here's a photocopy of the receipt because we don't keep receipts." So you make a copy and then throw away the original, which is the property of your customer? Who the hell wants to buy a designer handbag secondhand with only a photocopy of the original receipt? Fortunately we got the handbag authenticated by a licensed dealer later but...wow. Rude, unprofessional, disorganized. Do better. read more

Incredibly rude, arrogant, and condescending staff I've ever come across. They think their crap doesn't stink - oh but it does! Left some things for them to sell. They sold it for a portion of the asking price and never even bothered to call us to confirm if was ok. We asked for our remaining items back and they asked us to email the owner - the only one who's allowed to manage accounts (makes sense - she's staffed with dimwits) - by the way she never responded via email. They kept telling us they would get back to us. Said they claimed to have called and left a message however then said they called the wrong number. Took us over a month to get our things back. I've never met a retail team more incompetent and disingenuous. I think they forgot they sell SECOND HAND items and not luxury goods at Chanel. Yes, yes, yes and yes! I'm not a label whore by any means. I love to shop Target, Forever 21 and do clothing swaps with friends ... however, when it comes to dresses, my spending has no limit. I see sexy, chic and flirty dresses and gowns as an investment--something you can wear for years (should you not double your dress size) and hand down to your kiddies (should you choose to have any, once again, without doubling your dress size). And More Than You Can Imagine has so many beautiful party/event/cocktail dresses, and I want them all! MTYCI is a consignment boutique, where ladies will find barely (if ever) worn designer clothing: dresses, casual to dressy tops, jeans, jackets, shoes, and accessories--including belts, purses, sunglasses, etc. As for the sunglasses, you can snag a cheap pair near 10-20 bucks. They also have some home items for sale, and last year they started selling Cosabella lingerie (new, of course), the line inspired by "Sex & The City." Service is incredibly friendly here; you'll either find owner Vikki Rizzo in house or her daughter--both helpful and sweet as they come. They do carry *some* men's accessories. Recently, my gf and I have been thrift shopping. We have been hitting up the goodwills and the salvation army for random things from home accents to even shirts and dresses. When you start with those stores, the next thing down the line are consignment stores. This is one of those HIGH END ones. When you have $15,000 hermes bags "marked down" to $10,000 and used heels that are still $400. But that's the thing is you "ballin on a budget" this might just be your place. They have so much high quality stuff that is great condition. The mark downs are not phenomenal but if you check the back room there are many many deals to be had. My gf was able to pick up a pair of red bottoms for $200 in better shape than the new ones I bought her at nordstrom after one trip out in them. The owner of this pair must have literally only wore them on flat non-scratch surfaces. read more

Truly high end resale shop. When you walk through the door at More Than You Can Imagine, you won't believe you just entered a resale clothing and accessories store. The shop is so dressed up, you'll feel like you're in a designer boutique. Nothing in the store is more than 2 years old so you'll always be able to keep up with the latest fashion on items from Prada and Louis Vuitton to name a few. If you have some designer items to unload that are still pristine, don't put it up on eBay, give it to More Than You Can Imagine - the owner will split the profits with you 50/50. During my last visit to the shop, I had my young daughter with me. The owner was there and she talked to my child about the neat gift items they had up front. In addition, she encouraged her to try on the pairs of glamorous shoes from the display. Even with all of the big label names in the store, she wasn't worried about my daughter messing anything up. More Than You Can Imagine is the Queen of the resale shops for extremely high end items. If you need a new purse or have to have a Juicy Couture outfit, this is the place to get it. read more

I hate when consignment/resale stores have that Salvation Army (you know, old, smelly clothing, generally disorganized) kind of feel, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that MTYCI had much more of a boutique vibe with cute decor and the clothing organized by designer. The clothes are fantastic and at a fraction of the retail cost. Chanel dress suits, yes please. The back rack was the highlight of the visit, as others have said everything is 50% off and they had some cute Nanette Lepore dresses there. The sales ladies were also super helpful and asked what size shoe I was when they caught me staring at some great Prada pumps. Overall, cute place. I would definitely go back! read more

I never have good luck finding anything at consignment shops, so I was pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful red Burberry jacket marked down to $300 (a steal) at MTYCI! They have a great selection of gently used designer goods and while the items are still expensive, it's still less expensive than anything you would be new (or even on "sale"). Yes, it's hit or miss and while I got lucky the first time, I wouldn't expect to have the same luck at each visit. Stop by if you're in the area, keep an open mind, browse through every rack if you have time, and be optimistic. Also - follow them on Instagram because they post when new items arrive. When someone orders a product and that product is not available , substituting another product is not only unacceptable but down right deceitful and a very bad business practice. I recently visited the shop to consign a pair of Chanel shoes. From the moment I hit the (locked) door it was definitely LESS THAN I COULD IMAGINE and WAY MORE THAN I WOULD PUT UP WITH. The sales clerk who opened the door looked me up and down then chastised me for not calling to set an appointment. I told her that I had called and was told to come by. She went to fetch the older lady who runs the shop. Out came a little wig wearing woman with the fakest smile I have ever seen. The shoes are brand new, unworn and have the tags on them. They were in the original Chanel box with the Chanel ribbon along with documentation and shoe bags. The woman asked "where did you get them?". I was so stunned that I actually answered her. Where did I get them? I've consigned items, sold items online, etc and never once have I been asked where I got something. Rude. I actually had the receipt in my handbag, but didn't feel that I needed to show "proof of purchase" in order to sell a pair of shoes. She took the shoes over to her daughter for inspection and then asked me to fill out a consignors form. While I was filling out the form the older lady came back and stated that her daughter would need to verify that they are current Chanel merchandise. She then said I should finish filling out the form and that they would price them later. Who walks away leaving their possessions to be sold without knowing what price they will be sold for? I don't. When I asked what the brand new (in stock) shoes would sell for I was told $400.00. That's $400 for shoes (never worn) that retail for over $800. No. I told her to forget it. If I was going to give them away I would rather decide who would receive them. Her last words "you don't want to make $200?" I wouldn't do business with this group of clowns for $200. Someone else who has never had anything told them that the River Oaks address means you should have an attitude and be rude. Wrong. Someone also told the older lady that tucking her wig behind her ears makes it look more "realistic". Wrong again. *I have since discovered WRIGHT PAWN on Westheimer. They buy and sell gorgeous (top designer) bags and shoes - jewelry, crystal, collectables, etc. This is NOT your Daddy's pawn shop. They cater to women with $$$ and discerning taste. Decided to consign here because I've brought some great items over the years. I consigned a new Gucci handbag. I decided to pick up the bag before then end of my consignment term. I expected the bag to be in the same as when I dropped it off, but when I took it out of the dust bag there were VERY noticeable scratches all over the front emblem. I am highly disappointed with the way this store handled my handbag that I trusted to their care while waiting for it to sell. read more

BEWARE CHINA TOWN KNOCK OFF HANDBAGS! I had the pleasure of experiencing some shitty behavior from a grown woman(owner) I had found a balenciaga city bag in white that I've been wanting the owner was giving me a killer deal $500 for the bag it was kinda oddly worn and dirty on the outside but I can baby almost any bag back to decent shape I had looked around and everything seemed legit but all I could think of is what a deal right? I made a call to see if my dad would treat me he'd been hearing me beg for the bag he said fine owner seemed to start to get annoyed but I mean $500 bucks would be hers before they closed for the day and I was gonna get the bag so I was like whatever she's prob having a hot flash or some old lady issue. 15 mins later my dad had transferred the funds and she had her money and I had my bag. I drive down the road and was so excited I pulled over and remember I had a stash of leather cleaner wipes for my cars interior I've used them on almost all my bags to always keep them looking pretty as I'm cleaning the bag I start to notice a few red flags and major ones. I'm very familiar with these bags I've been inspecting my mothers and sisters since they got theirs. Then wtf when I took a look at the inside of the bag it was as if it was brand new but still not what I'm used too and then the detail of the zippers were very different from what I know balenciaga is known to use on its leather goods I look up the style number and serial number and they were not a match called a sales lady from the Caesars balenciaga boutique in Las Vegas basically the bag was fake and I'm still like omg that poor woman got fooled and bought a fake from someone so I quickly called her to ask who authenticates her merchandise the nut case goes off yelled at me to come back to the store to do a return so I went and maybe she would let me show her the small details of the bag that would confirm the unfortunate situation she refused to have me show her and told me that she knew I would do this to her and I was just having buyers remorse first time I've ever heard that bc even if I don't like something I always end up keeping it or giving it away to a friend or family member so yeah maybe check the item you think is a real designer good and not some knock off and the owners classy ways might rub off on you. This is by far my favorite new place to shop. I found this store on Yelp a few weeks ago when I was searching for high end resale shops. My husband and I finally made it in there yesterday - and I sure did walk out of there happy! We both enjoy nice things so we were thrilled to find a men's section as well. It was a ittle small, understandably, but we'd definitely love to see it grow. We walked out with various items from Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu and Jimmy Choo, - all for about half as much as my last purse and wallet from the Louis Vuitton store. In addition to resale and consignment, they have the neatest decor and random stuff! If you like designer everything...I highly suggest checking this place out. Oh and the service was great too.
