My family brought their sticky toffee pudding cake for Thanksgivng day dinner. It was very sweet indeed but the quality was good as well. Pudding is on the top layer, moist cake is in the bottom. Between of them and top, toffee sauces were spread. It was most moistured cake in my life. So good. read more

This little gem is tucked away in a complex near the liquor store and Circle K. I originally was interested in coming for the Panini/grilled sandwiches and they did not disappoint. The sandwiches are around the $10-$12 range and was nice that they grill them on the spot. They also have some nice baked goodies and some late grocery shopping. I noticed two that they have a clearance for some of their riper fruits and vegetables, but are a steal of a deal if you can make use of them. Clean inside and had a good enough selection if you can't make it out to the bigger grocery stores for a big shop. read more

I am a regular at your store and was disgusted today when a short red haired woman with a horrible attitude towards me didn't wear gloves and was handling my panini cash and even licking her lips by the fridge I almost threw up. So unsanitary she was insanely rude to me also! Shockingly rude in fact. I dealt with another sweet girl before but this woman needs firing. The sandwich was inedible and the bacon was raw and when I asked her to double toast it she licked her fingers and pressed down on the sandwich and threw it back in the same bag I'm disgusted. read more

This is a great gourmet market to find quality food that you might not be able to find elsewhere. After looking everywhere for some fig jam, I finally found it here. One of the best sandwiches I've ever had. It's true what the other reviewers are saying, I probably wouldn't do the bulk of my grocery shopping here. The place is quite expensive however their products do look very good. Everything made in house that I've tried has been outstanding. It's a small specialty foods shop. If you love meat, get the cubano. Honestly it is mind blowing. Don't be an idiot like me and eat it while driving. It's a very messy sandwich. Turkey and Brie is also outstanding. Really nice grocery store, trying to be high end, with lots for the health conscious. They seem to have a pretty good selection of Gluten Free goods, including pizza shells from Panne Rizo (I think that's who it was from). They have fancy sauces and jellies and all that good stuff (for a price), and health foods like salba, chia, etc. The meat counter looks like it has some good cuts, too. Small, but nice fruit and veg department as well. Nice shop, but not where you want to stock up on all the basics since it can get quite pricey. read more

Not from Langley but drove over to visit family in their new home. Didn't want to arrive empty handed so popped into here hoping to find flowers or some bakery goods. First thing I noticed was the delicious deli smells so went to find it. Deli was stocked full with a huge variety of sandwiches. Since there was only one person in front of me and 3 people behind the counter, decided to order a dozen sandwiches. As the two girls helped me by collecting my sandwiches, the older woman behind the counter made a point of coming over and I was subjected to the following - in the future, if I know I need that many sandwiches, I need to order in advance. They were slow today so they could help me but they're usually very busy and they sell out of the sandwiches so I need to plan ahead. I was shocked and felt scolded. Are they not in the business to sell sandwiches? Had they been busy, I would never have dared to order a dozen sandwiches but since they had 3 staff behind the counter and the sandwiches were pre-made, I thought it would be a nice hostess gift. I declined when asked if I wanted the sandwiches toasted and sliced. I can't imagine the talking to I would have received if I further inconvenienced the staff. Here's the kicker. Moreno's on 200th is a small specialty shop that has cool and different things. This is no Meinhardts, but certainly has things for foodies to grab for the perfect meal. They also have grab and go items from their deli, and nice quality produce and breads. This isn't where you want to fill up a cart for a family of 4 but it is nice for grabbing special things or supplementing your main grocery order. read more

Went to Morenos tonight and was sorely disappointed. There were 4 people standing behind the deli counter chatting, a few times they glanced over at me waiting to be served, but did not come over. Finally I asked if someone was going to help me, and a girl slowly walked over, and didn't even say anything. I asked her to tell me what the flavors of the cupcakes were, and all she said was "they're cupcakes" ...? I ordered 2 cupcakes without knowing what the flavors really were supposed to be, one with coconut on top, and one with pecans. I got home and we cut them up so we could both try each of them... Oh. My. God. Worst cupcakes I've ever had. They tasted like they were previously frozen, you know, that freezer burnt flavor??? That's what they both had. The icing was clearly shortening based, not butter. The cupcake itself was very dry. The only reason I am giving them 2 stars is because they have a red velvet cake that is orgasmic. read more

I live in the Area and shop frequently at Moreno's. In the past I considered Moreno's more of a 'boutique' shopping experience, and accepted that it's a bit pricey when getting the odd item, however it's usually been a "you get what you pay for" type of experience. To be fair I've usually had great service & great food. I'm not sure if they recently had a management or ownership change, however the quality of the produce has dropped. My Parents came to visit for the Holidays & bought some Pate´ which was 12 days expired. I understand that Holidays are busy, but you could really get someone sick if they're eating rotten food. Staff seem to either not care or aren't being managed appropriately. Hope things change soon, it would be a shame to lose a local specialty deli like this. read more

A great store..they have EVERYTHING you need, no need to go to IGA... or downtown...small and friendly, they have recently added a whole lot of new food items, like pesto, tapenaudes, gnoochi, a great meat selection at really reasonable price. If you want a food item , tell them, they will bring it in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very happy to shop there and support the little guy instead of mega corporations. read more

Love stopping in here and picking up whatever meat they have on special - they have great sausages, for example. Lots of variety, and a recently expanded "heat-and-eat" deli section that has lots of tasty options for a quick meal. read more

WOW, I am giving 5 stars for "most improved" I went in the store on thursday and Every produce item had a readable price thank you! it makes the store much easier to shop. my previous review from january 5th. I rate the store 2/5 stars: They need to try harder. They have the worst price signs on their produce. The numbers slide on the track or fall out . Most items do not have a readable price sign. I have mentioned this to the checkers and they say "isn't it funny". Well I am not laughing! Having prices on items is a necessary part of the job of running a store. I find it aggravating when I cannot determine the price of so many items. Luckily a Fruiticana is opening soon on 72nd ave, so I will have another place to shop within walking distance. read more

This place is overpriced and the quality is lacking. I looked at their display case and the sandwiches looked disgusting where the meat was all dried up and wilted. The people who work there are totally unprofessional in their attitudes. There were two girls there cutting down their coworker behind her back in front of the customers. I discovered Moreno's freshly made grilled sandwiches and home-made soups about 6 months ago -- and have been going back ever since. Just simply awesome food. Recently, I purchased a bag of steel cut oats. When I got them home I discovered they were stale (well, rancid, really). I took them back with my receipt and the staff of Moreno's apologized and returned my money immediately, no questions asked. Turned out it was a new product they added to their shelves and they appreciated the feedback. Exceptional service. I have also bought cookies and bread here, which were also excellent. read more

Very happy Moreno's is here. I used to have to drive into Vancouver to get the range of items that I use for cooking, but now they seem to have filled that void in the Valley. The meat counter has some nice home-made sausages, and the grab-and go sandwiches are an excellent fresh lunch. Fresh produce, friendly employess, nice deli, and some yummy dips and chips. Most items are fairly reasonably priced, but I wouldn't go here for day-to-day bulk grocery shopping. It's a cute little store that's a great Trader Joe's substitute for those few items that I crave occasionally. read more

Great Staff working here! They are friendly and helpful and they have a great selection of Gluten Free foods and lots of speciality items that are hard to find anywhere else. Great Meat and Deli Department and fresh bakery as well. The sandwiches are also excellent. Check them out!!! read more
