By far one of the biggest mistakes I have done in my entire life was getting Morey and Upton as my accident lawyers. It has taken over 3 and a half years to close my case and it was done so only because I started to put pressure on them. Now my case is so called closed right ? I should get paid right ? Well no it still has taken 3 months after they've received insurance payments in order for me to get a summary of what I'll be getting paid out. I should get a check already right ? Nope! Now it was to go through a routined disbursement that will cut checks only when they feel likes it's ok which has taken over a month. Not to mention the attitude they have given because I keep pressuring them and plus how many reps have changed during the time of my case 5 to be exact and all I feel have to re do all the paper work with: I definitely do not recommend them at all worst experience ever. read more

This is my second case with them, it took them forever to beat the first case (YEARS)! I have called other law firms to get there professional opinion and everyone told me the same thing the more of MY TIME the more % of MY MONEY they get! It all makes sense! I got ran over by a drunk driver on my first case and it took them two years and a half to get me a $14,000 settlement and they ended up keeping 40% SMH. On my second accident I got rear ended and the driver was sober and she admits that it was her fault so I was experiencing so much pain I ended up Calling Morey & Upton to take up the case (Since they had all my info from my other case) I thought it was going to benefit me and make my life easier but it was not! This accident was in 2018! We are now in 2021 and the young lady's insurance returned my phone call to personally to apologize and assure me that they paid me about eight months ago they PAID MOREY &UPTON A SETTLEMENT CHECK! Wait what??? They settled out of court and gave them a check! I call and call and call again and again! I have left countless of messages! I continue to call I continue to be ignored! I was pretty dazzled by the office when I went in for my first interview with this firm after I was in a vehicle accident, where I was broadsided in an intersection by an unlicensed driver who ran a red light back in 2013. But little did I know that my case would be dragged on for 5 years. You see I was so certain in that interview that only my best interest would be served, and that when I was promised by their case manager that the firm would fight for my rights, and that the firm would work for the standard 1/3 of the settlement after my case was settled, and that they would only take their 1/3 AFTER all my doctors bills were paid. After all it was the firm that would be sending me to their tried and true physicians. So without any doubts of their morals and certain of their promises I signed their contract and was told I would be contacted by one of the team and told where to begin my recovery. I left that office in Costa Mesa feeling certain that I would I be treated with dignity and professionalism. But after 6 months went by, going to different doctors at their behest, a neurologist who gave me injections in my c-spine, then seeing a chiropractor twice a week for about 4 months, I called the office of Morey and Upton to find out what was new with negotiations with the defenses insurance company. I was told that all the associates were busy and that I could leave a message for the case manager Tracy Tang who was in charge of my case. Well I did so but was never contacted back, so I waited another couple of days and tried again, well this same game of dodge the client went on for about a month until I finally called the firm and was told that Miss Tang was no longer with the firm, but my new case manager Miss Randi Reicht was now in charge of my case and that I could speak to her. Well Randi seemed nice and was very concerned that it was so long without any word from the firm, she assured me that the defenses insurance had paid off their policy limits which were only $15,000, but not to worry because I had an underinsured policy that was upwards of $500,000 and that the firm would now begin negotiations with my insurance co. AAA. So I waited as I was told to, but asked if I could have a portion of the $15,000 that was sitting in the firm paid by the defense as I was not able to work and was in severe debt. I was told no because that money was part of a bigger settlement and if they were to give me a portion, that may negate the bigger settlement, BUT they told me I could take out a loan by an agent called Oasis, who worked with the firm and that I could use them for a small loan and pay it back after reaching the final settlement. I did this and after Mr. Morey signed off on the loan for $600.00 (which was not even enough to pay my rent) but what else could I do? I was under contract with Morey and Upton and had to do as they said. I could go on and on about going through another 3 case managers and having to take out another loan through Oasis for $700.00 about 6 months later and that this case would drag on for a total of 5 YEARS! Then after going through a deposition and then a Mediation where I felt like I was being represented by Barney Fife, and that after this sham of a mediation I was only awarded another $25,000 out of a $500,000 policy that was MY underinsured policy. Then the icing on my sour cake, the firm told me that I was responsible for the entire amount of the liens from the doctors and that the loans I took out for a whopping total of $1300.00 had ballooned up to $5,000.00 and that the firm was now going to take NOT the 1/3 that I was told in the beginning, but now taking 40%...WHY because the case dragged on for so long and in their contract, if the case went past a certain amount of time their expense went up!! But wasn't it them that dragged this on?? YES. So this was their final breakdown and dispersal of funds after all liens were negotiated down, OUT OF A TOTAL OF $40,000.00, THE FIRM WOULD TAKE $17,000.00 THEN I WOULD PAY THE DOCTORS AND OASIS A TOTAL OF $17,000.00, THEN BECAUSE I TOLD THE FIRM THAT ANOTHER ATTORNEY NAMED MITCH JACKSON HAD REFERRED ME TO THEM, CHRIS MOREY WOULD GIVE $4,000.00 TO THAT FIRM (JACKSON AND WILSON) JUST FOR THE REFERRAL AND THAT I WOULD BE RECEIVING A WHOPPING $2,000.00.I ALMOST DROPPED DEAD!! I cannot say with enough emphasis that this firm called Morey and Upton was the worst experience I have ever had! That I would NEVER refer ANYONE to them or want anyone to go to them for help. Here's the kicker when I called the firm to beg for more of my money, the senior case manager named Mira told me she hears it (the begging) ALL THE TIME!, in her condescending tone, and then repeated that I SIGNED THE CONTRACT! In this same condescending tone....UGH!!! I still live in pain, mentally and physically because I was trusting enough to believe in this firm! STAY AWAY FROM THIS LAW FIRM; MOREYAND UPTON!!!
