While we waited, they made us feel at home in their waiting room... two very tired adults, two large dogs, and two cats! They even gave our dogs treats (and asked permission first!). They had us up & running in less than 3 hours, and we were able to make it to our destination before dark! Especially since our price tag of & $1100 (4 tires due to AWD need to change them all) didn't make them anymore eager to help us out.

In desperation, I called Drenkow Motors a mile down the road hoping and praying someone was still there...Mike answered and gave me guidance remotely as to what to try to resolve the issue. When that didn't work, he volunteered to drive over to the Plaza and see what he could do. After trying several different things, he called a towing company he knew and offered to let me use the company car he had used to get to me until his technicians could diagnose the problem on Monday. I was shocked with this outstanding display of customer service ! On top of this, expecting that they would need to replace the entire shift mechanism for $500 or more, they found that they only needed a small part to fix it. Impressed with their honesty, I had them do several maintenance items that I was planning to do later, probably somewhere else. The support of Todd and David in their repair shop was professional and very supportive in checking everything and only doing the items that needed attention. I returned their loaner and picked up my car today. The work was excellently done and the pricing very reasonable. Drenkow is now my go-to auto repair shop as their version of customer service and competent technical repair blows the competition away !

Being new in town and not…read moreseeing many reviews on shops around Storm Lake I decided to bring my car in to have a heater issue looked at on my 87 accord. Heater core valve was stuck and simply needed to be unstuck. The staff was very short and not very welcoming but that's the usual it seems with these mom and pa shops around here. After calling a few times during the week, only to be told that it wasn't ready and "we'll call you back", I finally got a call to come pick up my car. As winter was approaching I was excited that this vehicle was going to blow warm air. Boy was I wrong. The tech gave me a rundown of the work that had been done and went on to show me that indeed the heater was working, but only about 30% of it and he said as the car warms up more the heater should get warmer. Never did it get warmer. It only got worse. The car blew semi warm air for a minute at the shop and from the same night and on it feels like the AC is on at all times. Seems like I left the shop in worse shape. Wouldn't recommend.
