We had the "get away Cabin" and it was awesome! They even had outdoor movies on Friday night for everyone. We loved this place and you will too. Will never camp here again. Was put in a site next to a run down trailer that had the worst smell coming out of it. Who ever was in there left their trailer door open all day but never left the trailer sat in there talking to himself. Made my family real uncomfortable. Only reason for giving 2 stars is because they let me move sites. But they really need to do a better job on who they let in a place where families are trying to enjoy themselves. read more

Spent a weekend at TT, one full day was spent at Gilroy gardens, which is only 13 minutes away. They have bacci, basketball, tennis, pickle ball, mini golf, playground and a huge pool. The campground is very dusty and they have many extended stay campers/members who seem like tenants. The staff communication is abrasive and questions are met with a very condescending tone. Be aware there is no store on site, which is inconvenient and a missed opportunity for them. If you've forgotten anything or run out of anything you'll need to drive a ways to pick it up. No hot tub, but the pool is huge and has a bathroom on site. We stayed in a TT cabin, which advertised it could sleep 4. That is a joke. The futon is miniature only 3x4.5 feet and hard as a rock. In reality it could sleep a family of 3 and not comfortably. It does have a galley kitchen with toaster, coffee maker, pots, pans and silverware + gas stove and fridge/freezer, which was not advertised, and a pleasant surprise. They also provide linens and bath towels. We had fun but are really looking forward to sleeping in our own beds. On the fence if we would return, but we would definitely not rent the TT cabin again. *note that we paid $211 a night and were expected to sweep and take out the trash. If they deem our clean unsatisfactory we are subject to a $150 cleaning fee on top of what we have already paid. read more

This location is run by idiots. They assign guests where they will stay. Some spots have dog shit, dead rats everywhere. What kind of park is this? They have someone who doesn't even groome the trees that are at the spots where you have to park ypur rv. Dead leaves EVERYWHERE. Not a desirable place to stay. Corporate will hear about this. Just think twice before staying here. We've been to larger parks in other states that are beautiful, operated by people who know their business, not like the fools here. Would not recommend this campsite to anyone. The internet service that you pay for barely works, the employees are rude and they pick and choose whom to enforce rules to. We just got a membership and started to join our family members who have already gone camping numerous times at this location but it seems like the "tenants" who live there (I say tenants bc it looks like a RV/trailer park) complained. They lie to you and say they have no spaces available and that they will be getting more people in yet we stayed 2 weeks and the space next to our family members was empty for the whole 2 weeks. read more

This is an Encore Thousand Trails location. Trash. Front gate (who claims "campground ranger") person is incredibly rude. I think she's the owner but I'm not totally certain. Makes you feel like you're a criminal with very aggressive interrogation and proof of paperwork demands. We had everything and still she was aggressive and condescending. It's been this way every single interaction (close to a dozen - no it's not our choice to come here but a family member keeps insisting "I'm sure it'll be better next time" - never again). I could make this a five page review with all the awful details of this "resort". The location in Morgan Hill is amazing but the park itself is run down. It's basic infrastructure (power, water pressure, cell service, etc) needs significant improvement. Shade is hard to come by in the sites. I'll give partial credit that some of the staff are actually quite great and delightful. They try hard but are really up against terrible odds. If you are otherwise independent adults with no children and you have no other place to choose? You'll be fine'ish. If you don't fit that picture, I'd strongly recommend going elsewhere. But the worst part? After this last gate interaction I read more reviews and found something alarming which I then researched myself. There are two registered sex offenders LIVING at this location as of the date of this review. Look it up yourselves, but do NOT harass the individuals - that's not the point of my mention here. Harassment is completely unacceptable. I want other parents to be aware of the risk that I had no idea of before (shame on me for that). I would have never thought that an RV resort would be something to verify - my bad entirely. read more

My wife and I signed up for a Thousand Trails Membership, and this place was the first we've stayed in the Thousand Trails group. At this time, I am interested in getting a full refund from Thousand Trails. If our stay in Tahoe Valley isn't better, I will demand a refund from Thousand Trails. We stayed in back-in site 123 in our 28ft TT 03/04/22-03/06/22. Check in was easy, just had to show my TT insurance and registration, which I knew about ahead of time from checking reviews prior to my arrival. The Ranger station booth at the front now closes at 7:30pm. So if you are arriving later, call ahead to make arrangements. The grounds are nice, the amenities are nice, most of the back-in campsites are roomy and nice. The pull-Thru sites seem a little close together. Each site has a picnic table and W/E. No sewer. Plenty of trees and shade around the back-in spaces. There's only WiFi at the lodge, but you can pay for WiFi at your site. We didn't pay for it, since our AT&T signal was strong on our cell phones. We just streamed from our phones onto our tv and Bluetooth radio in the rig. There are no over the air channels for TV, and Radio stations are hard to get. There are two dump stations on either end of the park. The dump stations were well maintained. Bathrooms and showers were clean and maintained. A honey bucket service is offered for $25 per day. There is currently about 40 spaces near the dog park that are getting upgraded to include 50 amp. Ideally, free WiFi park-wide and Full Hookups should be included, to make this park a destination location. The pool is HUGE and is heated starting in April. There are plenty of activities for kids. Kids activities included painting pictures, rock painting, hikes and legos on Saturday. Thousand Trails employee, Kandice, was very accommodating and friendly while running the kids activities. Thousand Trails is about a 10 minute drive from Morgan Hill restaurants, gas stations and Grocery stores. We stayed here because we got a membership included with our RV purchase. This is the 2nd Thousand Trails location we have stayed at, neither had free wifi park-wide or full hookups, so we have no interest in paying for a membership. We've found KOA's are the gold standard for amenities. There is a membership office at the front entrance, if anyone is interested. read more

Where to start, It was in the low 40's when we arrived and the cabin we rented did not have a working heater. We went to the office and they said they would send someone out to look. When we came back from dinner they put a stand alone heater that tripped the circuit breaker. We went back to office and they said to just re-set the breaker. I said I was on vacation and did not want to look for it. They sent someone out and he re-set it for us. Then we noticed the TV did not work. We brought our own DVD player so no big deal. The next day we went back to the office to let them know and they said the unit we were staying in was waiting for a part for the heater. So why would you rent it out!? The maintenance guy could not figure out TV but we did. The kitchen sink had a large stain. They could have replaced it as it was an over the counter sink. The sofa bed in living room was very uncomfortable as you sank in it and could feel all of the springs in it. There were dogs off leashes, against their policy, which did not make me feel safe. The upside was the location and the grounds as they seemed to be in good condition. Very large pool. They had a fake fireplace in living room under TV in a cabinet but it was sitting on a small piece of wood and when we turned it on it felt like it was going to fall over. The BBQ outside was rusted and did not seen to be in working order. The window would not stay open so we had to use a cutting board to keep open. read more

They are two employees that have stood out to me since I have been coming here for the last couple years and now that I got my own membership, they have been way more than hopeful and understanding of my situation. Along with them being super nice plus everyone here are very sweet, loving people who only want to help and make sure everyone has a great stay here. The park is a nice Thousand trails campground the staff is nice with the exception of one very unhappy elderly lady working the gate every once in a while, maybe not unhappy or rude just no communication skills It has a pool and movies on Friday night, water n electric the staff does a great job keeping the grounds n bathrooms clean and almost all of them alway find the time to say hello or wave as they drive by performing their jobs There was an issue with the water and the lady who I thought said she was the resort manager was very pleasant and friendly came by the campsites to inform everyone and it was after dark, we have always had a good experience at this campground. read more

We were here for 10 days the week of 4th of July. Thank goodness for the pool which was very clean, huge and enough lounge chairs for everyone. Just be sure to bring a canopy. The miniature golf was a nice touch though outdated, and not a lot of shade on a hot day, however, we had a lot of fun and happy they had clubs for adults and kids. The lounge had a old pool table and we played basketball, horseshoes and attended their painting activities. Movie night was cool but watch for the skeets. We met some great people. Wish MOHI winery would've been open for us and let us bring our kids. Bathrooms were decent but the trash cans were always full with people doing garbage bags. Wifi was compromised so we didn't dare. Would definitely come back cause it's so close to home. Lots of stickers on the ground so beware! Cute ground squirrels everywhere. read more

It's pretty enough with a nice pool, but management is pushy and off-putting. We arrived late. They called us while we were en route and thought we were there, we were not. There is no way to pick up late, I guess although we saw some "packets" posted at the ranger station, just not ours. They told us to pick up our "packet" in the morning. We couldn't find where, so we called on our way out. They said come to guest services and get it. So we thought we would when we got back. Couldn't find guest services. The woman in the golf cart asked as we pulled in, and we explained we couldn't find guest services. She was rude. She quickly explained where we needed to go. My partner took off on foot to find guest services and couldn't. Then golf cart woman shows up and gives him shit about not having our packet even though she already knows who we are. He asked if he could get a ride... she said no. We then watch her deliver a "packet" to folks across from us. Whatever, I'm completely over this. If you have a ranger station at the entrance to the park, use it. Otherwise, get over your bullshit rules. read more

We are thousand trail members. We have camped here several times. Last week when entering the campsite, the security arm crashed down on our RV and cracked the windshield as well as scratch the paint on our hood. We have been trying to get a call back to get this repaired since Friday (5 days now) and have yet to receive a call back. This is not what I would consider good customer service. This Thousand Trails RV park only cares about how much money they can get from you. They don't care about you or try to solve issues they have caused. Will not work with customers and management is unreasonable. Even though we reserved months ahead and told them how long the RV is the staff put us in a place that was for a much shorter RV. We are senior RV'ers, this is without a doubt the worst campground we've ever stayed at. (Five years on the road coast to coast.) Loud, music blaring, kids riding bikes through campsites. The front office (check-in station) does not answer the phone. Last night a group of thugs drove their cars with the heavy bass music blasting out of their trunks repeatedly through the campground. Bass so loud our 40' 5th wheel was shaking. That went on all evening and again this morning. Large groups of people, arguing, foul language, just not comfortable. If you are young, leaning toward being a thug, then this is the place for you. Us? Never again. Very disappointing. Thousand Trails is not what it read more

Hard to give it even three stars. We came in in our way south and stayed for three weeks. Very dissappointed in the upkeep, or should I say lack of. Bathrooms are old, old, old. Toilets are always plugged. If you want to take a shower, hope you are the only one. The drains can't keep up with the water and if there is more than one person, you are standing in other peoples dirty water. Laundry room: prices are great $1 a load but again the drain issue as well as general uncleanliness. Grounds weren't bad. We are here in late October, so maybe just can't see the garbage due to the leaves. Staff was not very friendly or helpful. One positive; there was almost always someone at the guard shack. Wifi: barely in family lodge, a bit better at the adult lodge. Five dollar surcharge for 50 amp. Another negative is the "squatters", they obviously live here. There motorhomes and area around them are incredibly distracting. I thought there were some "rules" regarding garbage, trapping etc. read more

Terrible spot. We were told our RV was ok to stay then the next day received a nasty note telling us to vacate immediately for unspecified nonconformity of our rig. Never had issues at any of the many RV parks we've stayed at in the past. This was after my husband had worked a 12 hour day, and then had to face this when he returned at night; forced to find a new place to stay at a late hour. The manager was very rude on top of it all. No wonder the place was nearly empty--RV traveler beware! read more

Absolutely love my time spent at this Thousand Trails resort. Kate, Jodi and Amy - to name a few - have always been nothing but friendly, helpful and accommodating. Wish I knew everyone else's names to give a shout out inclusive of those that assist in keeping the park and it's amenities nice and clean, and the maintenance personnel that keep things in good working order. There have been many renovations and upgrades throughout the years and a few more are currently underway. This park is a safe and cozy retreat within a great location. read more

The staff at this facility is super rude and unhelpful. Julie in the office was very condescending and unwilling to assist with locating my party, as there is no phone service in the area. I patiently waited while she assisted others; however, when the other customers left, Julie seemed to have a better attitude and she used the office phone to call the friends I was meeting there. My friends also had limited phone service so there was no answer. I decided to leave since I was unable to find the party I was meeting there. About ten minutes after I left I received a phone call from the people I was meeting so I came back. About 30 minutes after I returned, another member of staff pulled up to our party and began asking me questions. Then Julie and some other staff member rode up on a golf cart and accused me of being drunk,yelling, and not checking in at the office (though I was never informed I needed to check in),none of which was true. Long story short, I would not recommend this facility as the staff, (specifically Julie and her cohorts) tells lies, are unhelpful, and rude. Very bad customer service and no hospitality. I am writing about the Morgan Hill parks increasing issues and that it has removed the gate. I have already had people sneak in behind me that's not supposed to be there before they remove the gates, but now it's a free for all! I don't see how this is safe for members. RVs are coming in very very early in the morning without check in, unregistered/uninsured vehicles and drivers are free to enter now! I see people drop their RV, hook up the power and water just to leave it unattended seemingly for storage. Unchecked visitors and day use will cause overcrowding, damage and loss of revenue from the fees I know my family has paid. We observe people performing mechanical work on vehicles and rv in their sites and it goes on unchecked even though it is in the rules that this can not happen. A lot of people idle their cars in the early morning hours and sit there when they should just drive away. This is disrespectful for members on different schedules to be rudely awakened and kept awake by the motor sounds and smells it can cause.  The manager clearly has not sat down and read the rules we all received when the contract was purchased. read more

We camped in Thousand Trails in Morgan Hill mid-august and had a great time. We didn't stay long enough to enjoy all the amenities but the kids did get to play Mini Golf and swim in the pool. Everyone was nice and polite. I didn't get the name of the nice lady that helped us with the parking pass but she guided us in the right direction. We then met Maria Blanco, that answered the many questions we had. After, we encounterd Richard and Michaela Anderson, they were checking and made sure we were enjoying our stay and of course we bombarded them with other questions. We talked about the membership benefits but they were never pushy at all. It is nice to just go out there and enjoy and relax. We ended up purchasing the membership not only because we liked the campsite but because of the kind service we received. read more

Just got back from a one night stay at this RV park. We are brand new to trailer life and we're impressed by this park. Check in was easy the young lady at the entrance was awesome, the manager helped me back into our spot. I was impressed by the friendliness of all visitors and staff. As a bonus the bathrooms were clean. I look forward to staying here again and giving it five stars. Hopefully a warmer and cleaner pool. read more

I have only been to maybe like 10 other Thousand Trails campgrounds, however this was the first time I was ever asked for insurance for my trailer. So I obviously did not have it on hand ready to go. It's also the first time the staff was anything but amazing. The young girl at the front gate had a very bad attitude. As I'm trying to pull up my insurance on my phone (with no internet) the girl with the attitude tells me I need to go park over there in the parking lot. Long story short Geico my insurance provider tells me they do not issue insurance cards for travel trailers only for motorized vehicles. So instead they send me some declarations page showing I have coverage. I go back and show it to miss attitude and she literally glanced at it for half a second and says that's fine. I could of flashed her any piece of paper as she did not look at it, but instead I had to waste probably 30min+ trying to get this thing from Geico. The park itself is cramped as expected from most of the Thousand Trails parks I have been to. None of the sites have sewer and of course the laundry card system was broken and the dog had just peed on our bedsheets. Why they even use a card system I have no idea, worst invention ever. So we spent 4 days with no bedsheets as the laundry was never fixed in the 4 days we were there. Our water spigot was also broken and had no pressure, had to use the one from the neighboring site, luckily no one showed up to that site while we were there. No reason to come back to this campground. read more

Very unimpressed with the staff and the arbitrary rules of this campground. Not very kid friendly and the staff wear permanent scowls. Hammocks are not allowed in this beautifully wooded campground, which saddened my son greatly as he loves to hammock camp and he was reduced to sleeping in the car because he has outgrown the space in our trailer. FYI: we use hammock straps that do not damage or harm trees. I've also never been to a campground where they require you to provide proof of insurance and registration to both your vehicle and trailer as well as your driver's license. It was like being stopped by the Gestapo. Oh and if you have a vintage trailer, you are not welcome at this campsite; only campers year 2000 and older are permitted and your trailer must be in pristine condition; no dents, scratches, or blemishes permitted (Lulu at the entrance made these points very clear). We have stayed at other 1000 Trails locations and this has been our only disappointing experience thus far. read more

The very crabby older lady at the ranger station was very annoyed that we kept asking when they would be fixed ? We needed to leave to get back home ... all she could say was I don't know ? As you read the reviews you realize that Katie and other staff have been an issue for a long time. So here is a reflection of a long time user. My family has had a Thousand Trails membership since the 80's. Yup, back when there were only 5 digits in your membership (which i still know by heart!). As kids we grew up at the Morgan Hill Thousand Trails. I remember all the staff always being friendly and helpful. We used to look forward to hikes, crafts, and games with the staff members. It is really a great moment from my childhood. So fast forward to a year ago when my wife and I purchased our own RV and received a trial membership to Thousand Trails. Needless to say I was excited as all my memories as a kid we could re live again with our grand children! Since Morgan Hill was flooded in the storms, we visited many other parks and decided we would let the Morgan Hill location be our deciding park, both because of my happy memories and because it was only a few miles from us so we would use it often! So after Morgan Hill opened we made an appointment to go "tour" the park and had already talked to the sales rep as we fully intended to purchase after our visit. We visited in my wife's Challenger (no RV) as we just wanted to do a tour. Everything went bad as soon as we got to the gate. Even having a membership, we felt like we were being questioned by the police as to our intentions. And even though we know that license/registration is in the rules to supply upon request, the negative and forceful attitude with us was totally rude and un called for. Even after our tour we were so upset we just left, and didn't by in. A few weeks ago we were invited to visit a friend at the park. We have been being courted by TT and thinking about re visiting getting a membership. Maybe our last visit was a fluke....people have bad days. NOPE! Same exact events transpired with a level of rudeness that almost pushed my wire over the edge. If you get a TT membership, don't do it for the Morgan Hill Park. It's not like it was in the 80's and 90's with happy children running around and friendly staff. Now it is very stale atmosphere, almost like a prison feeling. We have once again skipped on TT. We get far more enjoyment out of our KOA membership. read more

wife and I have now been here 2 months due to the shelter in place.and I can't tell you how much we appreciate having a clean facility to shower and go to the bathroom. Although extremely short staffed Debbie is out there everyday cleaning and replenishing the bathrooms and her hard work shows, and that's a big deal especially in this face mask wearing paranoia that's caused toilet paper to be worth more than gold. I must throw the Ranger Station a bone as well being understaffed during these extreme times and patiently working hard to make everything come together. Today the park reopens and tomorrow we leave but we will definitely be back. read more

I have been a Thousand Trailes member for 15 years and have visited this park all during that time. This used to be a beautiful park. That is what makes this review so sad. Each summer we visit we find the park in further decline. It's hard to know where to start. The biggest sign of the lack of maintenance is when a site has either an electrical problem or water problem instead of fixing they close it down. Several sections have row after row of abandoned sites. Further every time we have visited this park there has been a power failure from within the park. The electrical is old and worm out. The main entrance road is gravel and washboard. The grass is all dead and many staff harass members over ridiculous trivial items. I went up to the front office to ask the manager if any repairs are expected and said corporate is taking funds from the parks and there is nothing they can do. He blamed the power problems on the big motor homes with little dogs. He actually bragged in taking so long to restore power to teach them a lesson on leaving the ac on while they are away. This was suprising to see a manager with so little care about people visiting his park especially the elderly who rely on power for thier pets. All the negative reviews are true. Avoid the costly thousand trails memberships. The money does not go back into the parks. Each time you return is proof of a park forgotten about. read more
