Bought a RV from Gilroy on a Wednesday, we were leaving the next day on a trip but they said they could have it ready on Saturday so we delayed our trip. They called Friday at 4PM to say service discovered the fireplace did not work and they would overnight one to have it installed on Monday and deliver the RV to pick up in Sacramento the following week. The sales manager promised he would call Monday with an update. When we didn't hear from him on Monday we called only to find out he was off. Who promises to make a call when you know you are off? We called the service manager and she told us the fireplace was fine, it was only the circuit breaker was off. So there was nothing wrong with it! We are convinced they did not want to go to the effort to do the walkthrough on a weekend and found an excuse not to. However, the dealership we picked it up from in Sacramento was amazing! Came to shop for off-road, off-grid RV.... walked out with a down-payment receipt for this beast!!! Service was great, they prepped and delivered the camper literally within only 3 days! It took longer to get our bank's cashier's check for the rest of the down-payment! Wish the camper included a "starter package" with hoses, chocks, blocks and TP. Ya spend over $50k on a trailer, and it comes empty and dry. Our first little camper from SoCal came with a nice starter package and a free membership for a year to the Good Sam Club and Camping World. Nope, not this time. The only other niggly thing was that it had the WRONG MODEL STICKER on the outside. We told half a dozen people, tried to order and pay for a correct one, nope..... they all played the blame game and not one person could order a $2.00 correct badge for us. If you're looking for honest, complete disclosure and respectful service, go to Classic Vans in Hayward! Not once, but three times over the coarse of weeks, I arrived at Happy Daze in Gilroy with a cashier's check and insurance in place to purchase my Coachmen RV, only to discover that there were severe problems, like the engine light on, the electrical system malfunctioning. The rig was brand new but dirty enough to be used. I had stated my emergency need for transport to funerals and a wedding, deadlines which passed while the staff tried to diagnose problems. Finally, the last day I was there waiting for hours for service, as the multiple staff members stood around drinking coffee, a big guy customer came in complaining of the same lack of service. They all jumped up to help him! This was offensive to me as a woman, so I started yelling at the staff. Mind you, this was MY RV purchase contract alone, my money. I had a man with me who might have been an Uber driver for all they knew, and that guy was also offended by what he saw. So he asked them to cancel the contract. They cancelled it but didn't even ask ME! Instead of apologizing, this giant servicer of Craftsmen RVs banned me from all of their lots. The GM of Happy Daze sent me an insulting email about how he had the right to refuse service to people like me. Women? The guy who yelled at the same time got only good service. This means that I could not purchase Craftsmen RVs with promise of repairs from the company's wide geography of authorized garages. I missed a funeral and was heartbroken with the delay, but I did make the other events thanks to a gorgeous Winnebago from wonderful, helpful staff at Classic Vans in Hayward. Drove from Pleasanton to Gilroy expecting a good experience. WRONG. Before you consider buying anything here, check out the office facilities, bathrooms, etc. these are pretty good indicators of how your experience will be. This journey started off well enough. We were greeted by a low key salesperson. She walked us through some units. We decided on a 6 figure fifth wheel. This is where it goes south... ordered the unit with 3 options. 3rd AC , dual pane windows and residential refer. After two delays the trailer finally showed up.... minus the dual pane windows and door handles for the refer. Windows were due to shortages. Handles were due to "shipping error" that was going to be fixed by a fed ex delivery. This was all a lie, there was a product change and the new refers didn't have handles. .... nobody told us. After hearing from our sales person many times that " you get what you get from the factory" and her arguing with my wife about representing the product incorrectly then saying " I'm not making anything on this deal " we started to only communicate with Joeann in finance. Our salesperson ,only once ,proactively communicated with us. Finally, we went for our walk through. Carlos ( happy daze contractor. ,not employee) is awesome. But, HD threw him under the bus by leaving him a filthy unit with little touches like the bed looking as if someone just woke up and left. As a home building superintendent, I know how this experience should have gone. I felt badly for Carlos. Finally... we took a cashiers check for ~1/2 the price plus $3000 too much. HD "refunded" to our credit card the $3000. It was a pending transaction on Monday after the delivery. Today? It's magically gone with no trace on the card issuers end..... Happy Daze? More like Dazed and Confused. Run, don't walk, anywhere but here. Wanted to update my review. I need to stress that Happy Daze is an honorable business to deal with. The salesperson we dealt with, however, lacks the refinement necessary to deal in high dollar transactions. Our issues stacked up over the process of our purchase. The final blow came when it appeared as if our deposit was not refunded. Due to an odd banking protocol it didn't show at our bank. After about a week it finally did. None of our issues were, in themselves, deal breakers. As stated, frustration grew high due to the refund. I'm upgrading to 3 stars. This is only due to the salesperson experience. read more

bought a Grand Design Trailer from Happy Daze RV-Gilroy,California we had to pay $595.00 for PDI which was a complete check over to make sure everything was in working condition. First we went to pick up trailer and 1st thing wrong the trailer hitch would not latch correctly. 2- when we got home that night, family came over to see trailer and our grandson sat on pull out couch and couch came off the wall, it was only held in with two sheet metal screws snd no backing. Took back to dealer then next day for them to fix it. picked up in a couple of days, and it was installed with two wood screws and still wabbled called them back and never returned our calls. Finally my husband fixed couch and installed two folding legs to support. Then we went camping for the first time went to turn on TV and it didn't work. come to find out it was all hooked up wrong never would of worked. My husband had to fix that. then turned on water pump for sink and hoses were leaking in rear compartment. then window on door when washed leaked. Every time we called nobody would ever call us back. We even went as far as writing to Company of Grand DeSign for refund on PDI. Never heard from anybody. We feel we should of got our $595.00 back. I would not recommend Happy Daze RV - Gilroy for nothing. They do not stand behind there products or there word. read more

We purchased a Tiffin 24TW in June 2019. The staff was very helpful especially Chris the sales rep. They provided a 2-hour tour of the RV but looking back we wish they had spent more time explaining the operation of the inverter, generator, MB ProConnect, and the Jensen radio/stereo. We were newbies and did not know what questions to ask. We just completed a two-month learning curve on the road that has been challenging. We assumed we could take it there for service but was informed recently that they do not service the RVs they sell. This was disappointing and not explained to us when we purchased. It's important to know that the dealer does not provide after-sale support. Once you drive off of the lot - that's it. I recommend joining Facebook groups before you purchase to see what types of issues you may face or learn what questions to ask. read more

We bought our RV from the Livermore location and live in it full time. We had a good experience from the sales department. The parts department is absolutely HORRIBLE!! We spent over $100,000 on an RV that we live in full time. We contacted the service department about 5 times and finally someone got back to us. 1 month goes by and our warranty is coming up, no one got back to us. Finally we had to go to the manufacturer and they were able to fix out RV and mail out the parts within a week. For spending over $100,000 on an RV, you would think their service would be better. Would definitely not recommend, as there's other places to buy RV's. read more

We had a great service experience atHappy Daze. We had a roadside emergency with our year old Reflection 5th wheel RV. We were headed home from a 2 week vacation in Oregon that was absolutely beautiful. Our last stop was at a KOA in Salinas, CA. Coming into the park, we heard a horrible noise coming from the front axel of our 5th wheel. Upon further inspection, it appeared the brakes had failed and were flailing around the inside of the hub. The next morning I called Happy Daze and explained to them the situation. Auto club couldn't round up the equipment necessary to tow our 5th wheel to the dealership so I disconnected the brakes and very slowly drove to the dealership in Gilroy. We were greeted by the service manager Shannon. She was very up front and told us their service department was backed up and wouldn't be able to do the evaluation for a few weeks. This was disappointing but understandable. We packed everything from the 5th wheel in bags and boxes and tied them down in the truck bed for our last 400 miles until home. I was in communication with them almost weekly checking status. Shannon spent a lot of time talking with Grand Design and getting the issues taken care of for us and got them to cover it under warranty. I asked that the repack the bearings and replace the rear axel brakes while they were at it and happily paid for that out of pocket. It did take a while for all the repairs to be completed but we were told that it would from the very beginning and were not surprised. Because we live 400 miles from the dealership, Shannon stored our rig there until we could get up there to pick it up at no charge and she never called us to bug us about picking it up. It took us almost a month from the time it was finished to pick it up. All of the items were completed and there were no issues with anything. We had a safe trip home and can now feel safe towing again. Thanks Shannon and Happy Daze for your great service. We are in the market for a new bunkhouse model and will be calling you first when we are ready. Grand Design should recognize these smaller dealerships that sell there product as they provide the excellent service after the sale. The larger dealerships (Mike Thompson) are wonderful sales people, but the service after the sale is absolutely deplorable. Happy Daze RV in Gilroy is a great company. We just finished our second purchase from Happy Daze in 3 years. Both Grand Design fifth wheels (we just upgraded). The experience was great both times. It was a little tougher to negotiate a good deal the second time around, because Covid has turned the industry into a sellers market and prices are skyrocketing, but we still got a deal we were happy with. Thanks Alexis (now retired) and Mike for the smooth sales process! The process of taking delivery and financing also went supurbly. Jason managed the PDI and walkthrough, and threw in some extra labor (installations) that I asked for. Jesus gave us a very patient rundown of all the systems, letting me play with each along the way, and assured me that he had inspected them thoroughly so I didn't have to worry. They even found one system that wasn't working and they worked tirelessly in the days before delivery to figure it out, and got it fixed just in the nick of time for my scheduled take home day. Joann handled our paperwork, proactively reaching out to me, and got us a good loan despite a challenge with our DTI ratio. All-in-all a second great experience with Happy Daze Gilroy! read more

I had visited our closest Grand Design dealership just 13 miles from our house, Trailer Hitch RV in Nipomo, CA. I looked at lots of trailers a couple of times there and had done a ton of internet research, but we decided we wanted the 25G. I had not talked price with anyone at Trailer Hitch RV, but I was VERY hopeful to do business locally with my neighboring dealership. I also wanted a Great Price! I emailed dealerships all over Southern CA - and up into the Bay area. Trailer Hitch RV was very boastful, claiming multiple times, "We have the lowest priced RV's on the West Coast". Well pardon me, not true, as Derek was $1400 cheaper in the end! Derek beat out Mike Thompson's 4 RV dealerships in the L.A. area, all the dealerships in the Central Valley, and Trailer Hitch RV! He had our trailer ready for us to pick up, and just as he promised, we had no surprises completing the paperwork. On the day of our visit, we told Alexis, our sales person, that we had a few very specific requirements that needed to happen in order for us to make a deal. A couple of other RV dealerships in the area were unwilling to accommodate our requests but Happy Daze RV made it happen. John Covey, the Business Manager, took care of all of our paperwork and despite some challenges with securing funding, he stayed on top of things throughout the entire process.
