I did not know Jason Jones when we first started working together on my estate plan, but I have to say I instantly knew that I had made the correct choice of attorney. Plus, when I indicate that the two of us were "working together," it was very much the way throughout the entire journey - from very first introductory video chat all the way to the signing, witnessing, and notarizing of the documents. He spent countless hours with me working through every minute detail, and made suggestions how to achieve each desire of mine quite specifically. The peace I now feel of having all this in place is almost impossible to put into words, though I have tried to do my best here. I cannot recommend Jason Jones highly enough.

We had an extremely negative experience at Zimmet Law. We worked with the lawyer Debra Hammerman,…read moreas well as Monique Gravely and Jacqueline Constante. We used Zimmet Law to purchase our home in Brooklyn, NY. Besides being generally hard to get in contact with the lawyers, 12 hours before our closing, the lawyers sent us a final Closing Disclosure with over $100,000 in mistakes that they did not catch. There was a mistake in our taxes that they did not catch. The title company they hired also made significant mistakes, leading to them giving us documents with huge mistakes in them 12 hours before the closing. Our lawyer, Debra Hammerman, did not come to our closing and was not present for most it, so we had to sort out all of these issues on our own. There were even more mistakes she didn't catch, and it led to an extremely stressful closing that lasted well over 8 hours. Her employee Monique was rude to me for asking more clarifying questions during the closing, saying we were "going in circles". I don't understand how someone who has made a $100,000 mistake could possibly feel justified in thinking that victim of that mistake might want more validation on other numbers they have created. Furthermore, the paralegal Jackie was looped into conversations for closing details about a week before the closing. I spent 3 days straight emailing her and calling her to try to get answers to questions about the closing, like how the money would be transferred, and she never responded. I confirmed with the front desk that she was not sick or on vacation, and our lawyer Debra Hammerman was also cc'ed on those emails and neither of them ever responded to our emails or calls. I have no idea why they waited until 9:30 PM to give us the final closing documents, when our closing was at 10 am the next day. It was a nightmare. Finally, Debra Hammerman herself provided a POA since one of our purchasers would be out of town at the closing. Despite us filling out the POA as per her instructions, it turned out she hadn't requested addresses of notarized signature witnesses which led to us desperately trying to contact our witnesses during this extremely chaotic closing to get their addresses. Why didn't she request addresses in the POA itself? Pure incompetence is my bet. Finally, the lawyer, paralegal, and all of the staff from Zimmet Law completely forgot to bring up holding money in escrow from incomplete punch list items. It fell by the wayside as we attempted to hammer out all the other mistakes the law firm has made, and it meant that no money was held in escrow as requested while we awaited final punchlist items to be addressed. This was a totally terrible experience for us and I would never recommend this law firm to anyone.

I set up an appointment to go over a leasing issue I've encountered - my landlord is canceling the…read morelease agreement despite I've signed the lease and paid the brokerage fee. Prior to this, the landlord or the agent suggested I should hide my underaged child from the occupant list so they don't need to put up ugly window shields on their nice-looking apartment. I refused to do so and they ceased the lease. Mr. Brian Zimmet: 1) 10 min late for the call without explanation, 2) said neither the landlord nor the agent had done anything wrong, 3) I brought to him I think the agent has broken the code of ethics in several ways and the landlord's decision violates NYC tenant law by refusing to rent to a family with a child; he said he's not familiar with the code ethics (despite him being the real estate lawyer) and asked me to call the police if feel discriminated (what a nice person), 4) refused to help me with filing a complaint on the landlord or the agent, asking me to find a long island lawyer (the property is in Queens but nevertheless he should have a license covering NY state). Throughout the whole process, he is impatient and rude and ended the call in 10 min despite his assistant booked for 30 min. And the fact that he called the action of the agent/landlord "nothing wrong, nothing illegal" seems weird to me. Will not do business with them anymore.

When I specifically asked about including a living revocable trust, they all tried to talk me out of it. Then I attended a presentation by Laura Cowan. She clearly explained the importance of having your estate in order regardless of age, the differences between the estate documents, including a will and a living revocable trust and clearly answered everyone's individual questions. Russel Morgan Legal Group Review Extremely grateful to have found Russel Morgan and his legal group, back in 2019 my mother had fallen ill with cancer and after her passing, me as the youngest sibling, was stuck dealing with real estate she had left for me and my siblings but there was no will and three children, this was by default a headache or so I thought until I had the chance of meeting Mr. Morgan. We sat down and in a matter of one hour he had managed to put all of my questions to rest and give me the peace of mind I needed as well as the guidance to proceed in the best legal way, we had been fighting my case for months before there could actually be an answer to my questions, I visited multiple lawyers to try and get their opinion on the matter but everyone would tell me the same thing "It's a complicated matter specially since there's no will". Upon moving to NYC and pretty much making peace with the idea of letting the real estate just go to waste and allow the bank to take over I met this lady at my job whom I mentioned the situation to and she told me about the Morgan Legal Group and how they helped her when she had to handle legal matters of any sort. She mentioned that he was the best lawyer in Manhattan and he would surely provide options that would make me realize I just hadn't had the chance of meeting with a lawyer who genuinely cares for what he is doing, who is passionate in his job and strives to deliver justice and the right information to his clients. Fast forward I made a call and scheduled my initial consultation with Mr. Morgan and from there my mind was able to rest easy and all of my questions were answered, he was very diligent and exploited all the options and resources to help me win this over and keep the house where I grew up and created so many memories in, other lawyers advised that I should just let it go "get into some new real estate, it's cheaper" but Mr. Morgan didn't even consider that for a second, he got all the right information, he was communicative, diligent and thorough with his work, within a short period of time I was receiving notice from the bank that the house would be remaining under the power of my family and we even managed to renegotiate a better payment plan with lower rates and more benefits than the ones my mother had established for her home prior to her death. I hired this attorney in October 2019 for a guardianship case. This attorney is a DANGEROUS person who would sign up anyone for a case and does nothing. He did not allow me to testify. And never answered the motion for a temporary guardian knowing that the opposition would win on default. He allowed the opposition to do whatever they wanted. He never opposed or proposed anything. He basically has a petition template that the secretary fills out for the clients. He reads nothing and knows nothing about the case; and I do not believe that he read anything in my case. IF HE WOULD HAVE TOLD ME THAT THE COURT HIRES A COURT EVALUATOR, A LAWYER FOR THE GUARDIAN, A LAWYER FOR MY MOTHER AND I WOULD NEED TO PAY 5 DIFFERENT LAWYERS, I WOULD NEVER HAVE STARTED ANYTHING. I hired him to be the guardian. I LIVED WITH MY PARENTS FOR 50 YEARS, so what is the purpose of placing someone else instead of me. THIS POS AGREED WITH THE OPPOSITION TO PLACE A GUARDIAN INSTEAD OF ME. HE WENT AGAINST ME. I AM A SUPERVISOR WITH THE CITY OF NEW YORK. IN FACT, I WAS PROMOTED WITH ALL THIS HELL THAT I AM GOING THROUGH. WHY WOULD I HIRE SOMEONE TO GO AGAINST ME? Why would a lawyer go against his own client? I have a $90,000 lien on the property and what was used in the guardianship court is being used against me in the estate court. This lawyer does not read any of the opposition papers, does not respond to any of the opposition papers and will not show you or give you copies of what was send. I had to get copies from the court evaluator who went against me. This lawyer did not show me or tell me what the opposition were writing against me. Only after I fired him, I discovered that the opposition claimed that I did not pay the property tax bills. I DISCOVERED THAT A BOGUS JOB LETTER WAS SUBMITTED BY MY SISTER AND THIS LAWYER NEVER TOLD ME ABOUT IT. This lawyer never showed me and told me what the court evaluator wrote about me and the opposition wrote against me. IF HE BOTHERED DOING HIS JOB, I WOULD NOT BE IN THIS HORRIFIC SITUATION WHICH I AM NOW IN. Because of this horrible attorney, a guardian was appointed. This guardian took me off the contact list that I was not able to speak to the doctors, visit my mother, get the black bag that had the contents of the safety deposit boxes and bring my mother home. As a result my mother died. This man is dangerous and don't think about hiring him. If you don't believe me, I could give you the case numbers and you could look into it. BASICALLY HE HAS A PYRAMID SCHEME. He signs up everyone and anyone, takes their monies and does nothing. IN MY CASE, HE DESTROYED MY LIFE INTO SHREDS read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS ATTORNEY. After my father died I contacted a number of attorneys to get a quote for probate. Mr. Morgan quoted me $3500. Little did I know that it did not include FINAL ACCOUNTING. Once I got the probate letters and I sold my late father's house, Mr. Morgan then informed me that FINAL ACCOUNTING was not part of the probate procedures and that it would cost another $4500 to finalize everything. When I asked him how was I supposed to know this as someone with little to no legal background, he did the usual lawyer trick where he states a true statement but doesn't actually answer the question. So if you are looking for a probate attorney, be sure to ask if FINAL ACCOUNTING is included with their quote because apparently Mr. Morgan does not include it. read more

Does a good job of explaining these complex topics to a neophyte like me. Did a good job of communicating to me all the way in CA via email & then snail mail. He seems to understand some of the complexities of Probate, Estate, & Inter-state complications. He does work with an excellent Elder Law attorney, Feinstein, who is amazing. Would have liked these docs sent with a signature required and an enclosed pre stamped envelope, but what can you do. Lawyers are not that spend thrift. They are located in the center of downtown brooklyn, so you need to pay a small sum for parking, but there are cheap & good places that serve the court crowd.

I used an internet search to select an…read moreEstate-Probate law firm Russel Morgan Legal Group (MLG) P.C., New York, NY to advise how my deceased mother's only asset could be re-titled into the names of living heirs. Shared she died intestate, visiting in OK in 1991: her residence was NY. I paid $4,000 retainer for the administration of her estate (consisting only of real property in SC). Retainer was exhausted in preparation of a myriad of documents, which were submitted to Surrogates Court, and they ALL were rejected in Nov 2024 by the court. MLG in May 2025 said court rejected and removed the record because: "no assets in New York, proof of domicile is from 1951, need proof of domicile dated within a year of decedents death. No assets listed in New York, death certificate indicates decedent lived in Oklahoma." After court rejection MLG asked me to amend the death certificate to show NY as residence; Oklahoma officials said it could only be amended before 60 days after death certificate was issued. I was then strung along and chased leads to locating any acceptable documents confirming New York residency, which was not successful: I was unable to prove NY residency. Legal guidance from OK Bar Association said the court filings I needed should be administered in state where deceased's real property is located, not residence or death state. Didn't Morgan Legal Group know that? Why did I have to tell them that? After exhaustion of retainer, another $1,112.34 was charged for phone calls, emails, reviews, skip trace, etc.; then a final charge of $525.00 for preparation of Summary Memo and phone calls telling me to hire a South Carolina attorney instead. Thus, Morgan Legal Group bilked me for $5,637.34 for NO RESULTS. I feel I have been swindled by Russel Morgan Legal Group P.C.

The attorney said he was able to work on it even without the NJ bar. I was like okay since my case was very straight forward. After a month since we started the case, I haven't heard any progress and my ex was rushing me everyday. I decided to send Leon an email. After a few weeks past, I didn't hear back from him and then I called the office. The receptionist, who picked up my call, sounded clueless. She asked me to spell my name at least 5 times and I felt that she was very annoyed with my long last name. I asked her to let Leon know to reply my call or email. However, I never got the response. A week later, I decided to switch the attorney and then finally I heard back from Leon. And he added some statements in the drafted settlement document from the opponent attorney, which didn't apply anymore. It costed me almost $1000. I am very disappointed that a almost 5 star attorney on Yelp provided a 1 star service to me. The divorce process was already depressing and this didn't help at all. Please stay away from this place.

When I followed up the following week he asserted that he is "not the process server." Within the span of ~1.5 weeks, I was twice given unhelpful and disrespectful replies. After reminding Adam that the process server is acting as his agent, I suggested he comport himself better or send me my case file. Adam did neither: (1.) He refused to send me my case file (seemingly, violating Rule 1.16(e) of his professional conduct rules). (2.) He threatened to stop process service on counter-party.
