Horrible! the driver 'forgot' our big valuable sculpture when we moved from Olympia out of state. It is heavy and they charged a lot as part of a Huge moving bill to transport it. After two days of chaos with them in our house packing and loading, the driver Rushed us that he finally walk through, wouldn't go out and check the sculpture area saying he already got all that. The delivery was a moving nightmare. The truck and driver showed up at 8:15 am, due at 8. By 8:45 No crew was there so he called and was told that the company they hired to move us in "forgot" to send the message hiring the crew. After 10 am 3 people who spoke NO English showed up: a small man complaining of arm pain all day, and two small women in their 20s who couldn't carry anything heavy. Nothing was put where it should have been as they couldn't read labels or get the tag numbers right. The driver told them to flip over our big expensive cherry dresser on the concrete porch but there was NO blanket or padding on that side so it has huge gouges. and the driver said he "Forgot" our sculpture. Many items were scratched, they broke 3 legs off a big upholstered chair and the move in crew broke the 4th leg. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID! Hire anyone else! read more

I would recommend Morgan Transfer as much as most movers. Here's my experience with them, pros and cons. In 2015, we hired Morgan Transfer to move us across town, consolidating two households into one. Darin was great; he really helped us with an organized and successful move. Friendly, helpful and considerate. Move was done quickly, with minimal breakage. We had four movers on our move. Two of them were very helpful and easy to converse with. Two of them were a lot quieter in my presence. One of them was pretty mouthy- except when he didn't know I was in earshot. At one point, I actually heard one of the decent movers ask mouthy guy "what are you going to do if you get caught". The mouthy guy talked about assaulting someone if that happened. I stepped into their view at the back of the moving truck. Based on his actions in that moment, I'm pretty sure he wasn't talking about assaulting me so I didn't make it my business. Had I known what they were discussing at the time, I may have handled that differently. While unpacking, I found that a full prescription bottle of Vicodin had been stolen. I talked with Darin at that point. By then, his team had changed so there was not much he could do. I work with movers in my job, so I can emphasize. Again, I recommend Morgan Transfer. I learned that if I am uncomfortable with someone in my home, I will tell them to leave. I recommend that to you as well no matter which company you choose. read more

I had a shockingly disappointing experience after being excited to use this service because of the strong reviews and great initial interaction with Andrew to coordinate the estimate and scheduling. Our move was a furniture only move from a 1500 sq ft townhouse. We moved all the boxes and non-furniture items ourselves. Initially told it would probably take 4 hours, but quoted 6 just to be safe, weren't we surprised when it took over 10 hours. Morgan Transfer sent us two movers, one who we found out had only been a mover for a couple weeks, and the other who was so out of shape that he struggled going up all the stairs the first time around. They arrived thinking they were only going to move boxes. They started at 9:30am and didn't finish loading the furniture in the truck until 4:45pm. We had a one mile drive to a storage unit to unload the furniture and that didn't complete until 8pm, and only because my partner actually helped unload the truck. After a shattered cabinet, and the storage unit closing before we could fully complete our move, moving day was a disaster. I can only imagine if we'd done a full move with boxes and all. I have yet to receive a claim form for the damaged item, and am left paying 125% of the estimate for non-professional movers that we had to help complete the job. I hate writing poor reviews for a business but I would hate anyone else to experience the level of stress and frustration that I did. read more

We had a fantastic experience with United Van Lines/Morgan Transfer. We moved from Seattle to Houston and reached out to several companies for quotes. I worked with Darin and he was incredible. We needed a local company for a local move in an extremely short timeframe. I was nervous being 36 weeks pregnant with a deployed husband that I might get swindled, but I was shocked by how fair Morgan Transfer was. I had a quote within a week, which came in under the others, and they arrived 15 minutes early on moving day. I was quoted 6 hours for the move, and it took less than that. I hired Morgan Transfer for a cross town move for some heavy specialty items (pool table etc.). I was very impressed and I would whole heartedly recommend Morgan Transfer and would use them again. I had previously hired a company that specializes in pool tables for our last move and Morgan Transfer was far superior. The process started with a quote where Darin came to my house and looked over my items. I was very impressed with the attention that he paid to assessing the items, his overall knowledge, and his concern for the best move for my items and the safety of his crew. I received in person quotes from two companies and knew that Morgan Transfer was the right company based on the level of attention paid during the quote. Darin's walk through took about an hour while the other company walked through in 10 minutes barely glancing at my items or asking questions. Moving day went very smoothly and I could not have asked for a better experience. The crew was hard working, efficient, and professional. They arrived at our house on time. They were able to get the job done faster than the quoted time while still taking the time to be careful and safe and we came in under budget. The crew arrived with carpets, rugs, and blankets to ensure that not only our items were protected but they covered the walls, stairs and windows to protect them from scratches. I. Hate. Moving. Seriously. My last move was across the country with an inept and down right criminal moving company, so it's not suprising that I was a bit hesitant at hiring another company to move my stuff. Visions of all my things broken (again) or missing (again) or even being overcharged (again) danced through my head. I was so anxious about it that I had my husband pick the company and make the arrangements. It was one of those "don't look at the train wreck and pretend it's not happening" type of scenarios. Moving day came and the two movers (Justin and Matt) showed up on time and ready to work. They listened when we explained what we didn't want them to move, and were super careful with our stuff. They loaded up our entire three bedroom house in nearly two hours, and were just as quick with the offload. They were champs with negotiating our narrow alley and our ridiculous amount of stairs. Plus, they put up with me nearly running into them a few dozen times as I tried in vain to help. Now comes the most important part... Not only did they not break a single thing or damage anything (they didn't lose anything either), they came in UNDER the proposal. Yep, I ended up paying less than what I originally thought for two guys who did a great job. I'm really pleased with the whole experience and really wish more moving companies would take a page out of Morgan Transfer's book. read more

5 stars from beginning to end! I even spent less than what Darren had quoted me. That NEVER happens with movers. Anyways, Darren came to my home and did a thorough and professional estimate. Was informative and gave me tips on how to make my move smoother and faster for all. I had 3 estimates and chose this company because of his knowledge, attitude, and the fact that this is a family biz for over 40 years. I spoke with Dawn at the office several times to schedule, pay, etc. and she was just as pleasant! The movers were Kurt, Rob and Joy. Yes, a female mover (who killed it) girl power lol. They were fast, strong, and protective of my items. I live on a very steep driveway and they took on the challenge with no problems. Moving is exhausting and getting the right movers is essential. I HIGHLY recommend Morgan Transfer!!! They even offer free (used) boxes which is a bonus! I'd also like to add that if you hire movers, the better attitude you have the better they'll have and that makes the day easier on everybody. After a glitch in scheduling, which delayed my journey a day, the moving experience was awesome. The estimate was right on, the few pieces that wouldn't fit were carefully loaded in my car. The items they wrapped or boxed were carefully handled, as were the many boxes & tubs I had packed. We had a wonderful experience and it all started with Darin Michael!! Prior to calling Darin I would wake up out of a dead sleep thinking (and stay up for hours) about how we were going to get our possessions 600 miles to Idaho, this literally went on for a few weeks. We had Darin over for an estimate and I was immediately put at ease, my stress dissolved. Darin spent a great deal of time going through our house finding out exactly what was going on the truck, in the end Darin was off only 240lbs on a 12K load, very impressive by any standard. On moving day Kyler, K'Juan, Mike (I believe) and Don the driver arrived. They no joke "GOT AFTER IT." These guys were professional, safe and non-stop. 8 days later our stuff arrived in Idaho. Don and some local help safely and professionally unloaded our stuff. Aside from minor damage on one lamp everything was in perfect condition. Used this company recently for a local move from Lacey to JBLM, WA and am not very satisfied with how transportation was handled. Quote was provided for 3 men, 1 truck, 10 hours. Day of the move, 3 men quickly went to 1 (first left at 2 hours into the job) and then around 5:30pm, 7 additional men were 'supplemented' (without my prior knowledge) to make up lost time. Needless to say, I had to pay for everyone, costing me at least $300 extra, if not more. To make matters worse, employees fudged their hours claiming hours worked that weren't. My husband and I Moved from Tacoma Washington to Michigan and had our belongings picked up June 7th from our home. We paid over $9,000 to the agreed services of Morgan Transfer (affiliated with United) and trusted their contract and customer reviews to safely and timely deliver our belongings. This was our experience: 1- No communication from the Office on the day of when the movers were picking up our belongings 2- On the day prior to the last day of our delivery window, we were informed our items had not left Washington. It took a total of 18 days to move our belongings from WA to MI. They did reimburse us $500 for the inconvenience, which did not even cover our hotel costs or extra meal costs due to having to eat out everyday. 3- 2 checkbooks were stolen from our file cabinet during the move and two fraudulent checks were made out of my account for a total of $990. Given the large expense to move, out of pocket hotel/food expenses, this was extremely stressful. We called and notified Morgan Transfer of the incident, and received no follow up on the matter. We escalated the issue to United Van Lines corporate team, but have yet to learn of any developments. 4- They lost all of our silverware, which was valued at over $400 and was a wedding gift to us from September. We contacted Dawn 3 times about the check and silverware, and she forwarded the information to the claim department. It's been a week and a half and still no response. A request was also sent in to corporate and denied because of a BS waiver that the driver has you sign when they deliver your items. If you'd like to have the driver and movers stay on your property to check off hundreds of items and boxes (took us almost a week to unpack and to fully realize what was missing) then defiantly make that choice. We were rushed to sign our paperwork, not properly explained the pages and were told everything was taken care of and to contain the local office with any questions or concerns that come up. We also paid for the insurance of our items- not sure what the insurance was for since they won't actually cover anything. Again, just another way to be taken advantage of. I could continue on with several damaged items and other missing items (such as our bed screws- so nice to finally get your belongings after such a long wait, but still no functioning bed!). I expected things to be damaged or things to go wrong- it's a big move. I wasn't expecting things to go wrong at this magnitude and for the company to do nothing to help out their customer, besides doing the bare minimum. So moral of the story, if you like to be stolen from, taken advantage of, and partner with crooks (not to mention pay an arm and a leg for a service) then book Morgan Transfer. We've moved across the country two times before without any issues from Allied. Can't say I'll be trusting any van lines after this experience. I know it's a lot of work, but if you can, consider doing the move yourself. Definitely do not hire Morgan Transfer/United. *****Update to Review****** Since posting this review on Yelp, we were contacted by United regarding this issues listed above. Shelly from customer service was very helpful and we were fully reimbursed for the missing items and were told that there was an ongoing investigation regarding the theft that was being taken seriously. I was happy to hear this information- as I hope no one else has to go through this experience. Being reimbursed for the missing items was also a huge relief to the financial burdens we were facing from the move. I feel that United did address all of my concerns, which I do appreciate. A couple of other positives to add to this review: none of our fragile wedding gifts were broken. The packing team really did do a great job ensuring those items were securely packed. Although we had the theft issue, the employees that we had direct contact during the move process were very friendly and professional to work with. I know the majority of them did not steal from us, and deserve credit for their hard work and customer service. read more

My mom was going to assisted living, and we decided to hire a mover. The representative from Morgan Transfer, Darin, came to do a walk through and give me a bid. He was very congenial and very knowledgeable. He gave me a discount that made his bid competitive, and based on his friendliness and expertise, I decided to hire his company. He even commented, when I told him I was going to be looking for a lift chair for Mom, that he knew of a lady that he recently moved that might have one. He even followed up on it on his own time. So, on a Sunday, he sent Kirt and his son to move Mom's stuff. They were also very friendly and professional. It was a quick move, about three hours, and the final bill was more than 100 dollars less than the estimate! I chose the right moving company, and I will surely call on them again. read more

They were down to earth & helpful throughout the whole process, which is great since moving kind of fries my brain. They came to our house to see our belongings first hand so we didn't have to fill out some awful online survey to say how many boxes at all. That was a big reason why we chose Morgan Transfer. It's just simpler to have someone come and see your stuff. I had to play phone tag with Dawn at their office once or twice but she was great too & it was worth it. The final cost really did come in under their estimate so that was a nice surprise too. They explained how weekends have a 4 hour minimum by state law, and then there is a higher hourly rate for weekends, none of which we knew. That helped us to choose to move on Friday instead! They were quick and time efficient & we had them dissasemble & reassemble our king frame / mattress and that went well too. (We moved our own computers & TV just because that's always what we do, but I think they would have done well w/that had we let them move that.) For us, we don't have pricey heirloom belongings- just the basics, and these guys were fast & efficient & cost effective w/ no drama. I would definitely recommend them. read more

It's been two months and I still can't get Morgan Transfer to tell me when they'll deliver my "overflow"... which was really that they decided to put my stuff on a truck with another client and was only able to fit half of my things as the rest of the truck was filled with another person's things. They don't return my phone calls and when I actually talk to the people"coordinating" my move I hear that they're waiting on the corporate office to tell them what to do. I have China, Christmas decorations, emergency food, but do not have my bed, the second bedroom, my complete sofa or sectional (both items only had a portion of the furniture delivered), yard tools, tools in general, bookcases to put the books in that they did deliver. I'd be careful about using United/ Morgan Transfer if you aren't part of a bigger contract like the military or a corporation. As an individual who used them, they certainly don't seem interested in delivering the rest of my items to me. read more

I hired Morgan Transfer to move my household goods from Yelm, WA to Jonesborough, TN. If I was anyone I would stay away from this company. I chose Morgan Transfer because of the great reviews they got from the military community oh how I was wrong. I received a call from Ashley their relocation coordinator saying my household goods was enroute to me from Yelm to Jonesborough, TN. with a delivery date of 2-14-2022. When my items didn't arrive on the 14th who do you think tracked them down. Not Morgan Transfer but me. I found out the driver had broken down parked the trailer on an unlighted unsafe area in Andersen, CA and checked into a hotel for the past week. The driver finally called me and said it is true what I discover about my shipment a week after the trailer has been sitting off of I-5 on an isolated unlit road. He also informed me to be ready to receive my delivery with damage. When I spoke with Morgan Transfer and United Van Lines about this and me filing a police report for theft of my household goods. Both organizations became upset with me saying that we don't need to bring law enforcement in on this matter. That I will get my stuff and to be patient and wait along with filing claims for damages. I have found out during my course of locating this trailer with my household goods on board they depend on their military contracts and want no negative issues that could cause them to lose it. If you are active duty, veteran or retired like me stay clear. Find another mover in the Tacoma / Olympia area. read more

Morgan Transfer did our move from Tenino to Olympia. They sent out their specialist Darin to assess what we had and gave us a competitive quote that was pretty accurate. There quote was also cheaper than the other 2 we got from other movers in town. We had nice follow through with Dawn at the main office regarding date and time confirmation, as well as checking in after the move was complete to make sure everything went OK. The crew that did the move was nice and professional. They took great care of our stuff with the only casualty being an old cork board from my wife's office which was more my fault than theirs. Long story short - we were very impressed when Darin came out to appraise our move (from Rochester, WA to Lacey storage (for 2 mos.) to McMinnville, OR) and so decided to go with Morgan Transfer. Too bad Darin couldn't have handled the whole thing personally. In the end, however, they lost a box and damaged a mattress. How do you lose something that had our name plastered all over it plus had their inventory tag on it (which they also show as missing). Would not recommend. read more
