I am glad that I drop by the Greenhouse Nursery in Niagara College... all these flowers and herbs. A prelude to spring... I just enjoy my stay by smelling all the herbs and taking some photos... BTW, all these plants that are grown by the students in the Horticultural programs at Niagara College. All plant sale revenues are used to support the educational programs at Niagara College. The plants all looks so healthy and fresh... they are really in good shape and well take care of!! I definitely encourage gardeners to pick up some for their own gardens or you can get an indoor plant arrangement as gifts too!!

I have been shopping at Country Gardens for years for all my annual flowers. After taking over…read moretheir stock of perennials and hiring some of the staff from the former Mori Gardens, I now buy perrenials there as well. I have always found the staff very friendly and help me find a specific plant I am looking for. Every year in May when I go for my large purchase of annuals, the staff always comment on my good sense of blending the flowers. If I wasn't a disabled senior, I would work there. I was formerly an interior plantscape tech, so I know when someone knows their stuff or is trying to bluff you. At Country Basket, if the staff cannot answer your question, they freely admit they do not know and find someone who does know the correct answer unlike some other local nurseries I have dealt with. l am looking forward to my next annual shopping trip in early May!

Prior to heading you can check their social media pages to see what their specials are. At the time when I came here the special of the day for waffles was the Confetti Cake Waffles. Upon being seated you're giving a paper to order and you bring it up to the front to put in. The table we were seated at was absolutely beautiful, with Van Gogh-Esque design being painted on it. I decided to get the special, which tasted very sweet where I wish more fruit (there was only three raspberries) was put on to balance it better. However overall I did enjoy the place quite a bit with a nice outdoor atmosphere indoors. Afterwards there is a bunch of plants and outdoors/indoor decor to buy for your house and garden.

Rude, impatient and brash staff. Looks like that is a common complaint from other customers as…read morewell. I called them 2 days before Mother's Day to order an assortment of plants to be delivered to my mum in St Catharines. The lady on the phone sounded like she had better things to do and my business didn't matter at all. She was impatient with me when I took less than 15 seconds to grab my credit card and when I asked her why she was so rude, she had the audacity to say - "Well I don't know why you didn't have your credit card out to begin with". I placed the order nonetheless. Later found out that my credit card was charged for $28 more than stipulated on the website. I called them all day - phone was unavailable. When I finally got in touch, the same curt lady came to the phone and said - " I would assume you knew it's tax and the delivery fee." The business is IN St Catharines - same small town as my mum's residence, $28 in tax and delivery?!! Also, why was I not made aware of this on our initial phone conversation? Not to mention that no receipt or proof of purchase was emailed to me. By now I was fuming and gave her a piece of my mind. The only saving grace to this unpleasant experience, was that my mum liked the plants. But I would never go through this ordeal with them again. You absolutely cannot be in the floral business and bark at customers - I can't imagine someone calling to order flowers for a somber occasion and having to deal with this lady's "I'm so busy, what do you want" tone. No paying customer should ever have to be treated like they're doing the business owner a favour.
