I searched long and hard to find a local business to patronize. The plumber was early the first day and on time the second day. The job he performed was excellent. He was helpful and good natured. The company itself is another story. Shortly after the plumber left I noticed that the shower pipe was loose. I left a message at 11:30 AM to explain the situation and if they could advise me. Do they have someone who can cut the drywall and re-attach the pipe? Do I need to call a different type of contractor? No return call. I called again at 2:30 PM. No answer, and again no return call. I called the office the next morning, and once again no answer and no return call. It's hard to believe there is no one to answer the phone in the middle of a work day or return calls later on. If there were extenuating circumstances why they couldn't return calls at that time, at least call at some later time and apologize for not getting back sooner. My messages were polite and not confrontational. I did my part and paid my bill at the time of service, so I expected the decency of a response. But the deliberate and callous conduct by this company does not deserve my business and anyone reading this should think twice before engaging their services.

He is one of the few plumbing experts who knows how to install flange on broken cast iron sewer pipes. Our toilet on first floor leaked subtly in the past 10-20 years due to improper installation. When I found this issue by identifying a rusted bolt, it was too late, all wood floors underneath were rotted. I quote several plumbers. Two of them advised to break partial or all concrete floors and replace the cast iron pipe with PVC pipe, then rebuild the concrete floor. One plumber even suggest to remodel the whole bathroom, which would cost a few thousand at least. A couple others declined due to the complication of the work. Then Joe appears, he offered to remove the old flange at no cost. I believe his confidence made him do that. And he offered a very reasonable price for installation of a new flange on the cast iron pipe and toilet. He offered all accessories free of charge, which not many plumber does. I will give Joe two thumbs up. He's man we can rely on. Now I am waiting to buy another 2 toilets and have him come back to install.

As is typical for some companies today there was a charge to come out--not to be applied towards my bill. The young man came in to see what the work was and then out to the truck to call the office on pricing. I told him/showed him, the fill valve I had purchased. He told me they will not use customer provided parts. I asked him to ask the office again about this policy , he did, and nothing changed. His pricing for these 3 jobs was over $900. I told him I wanted parts and labor to be itemized. Answer was 'we don't do that', 'we have flat fee pricing'. Between the cost and their refusal to use the new part I bought, I told him to only handle the fill valve part of the job however I insisted on an invoice with parts and labor itemized. Again, they refused to do so. I called the office to speak to the service manager, and he again refused to comply with my request, again repeated the flat fee pricing. In the end I got no-where. I asked to see the box the new fill valve came in--no surprise--same company part as what I had purchased. Cost for the 11 minutes max it took him to replace the part? $373.12 to include the $79. arrival charge. Did not get an itemized bill. What are they hiding? Knowing cost of parts and cost of labor is a routine and reasonable request of a customer, and many companies automatically provide this information without being asked. Addendum: I had the other 2 parts of the initial job completed by another company for $265.00 and automatically received an itemized bill. Note that even combining the two companies charges, the total is not close to exceeding $900 which Hirschberg quoted when they job costed initially.

They let me know they were done and leaving. They left my gate open and my dogs almost got loose.
