I want to take a moment to thank Roto Rooter for reaching out to me. I truly appreciate the customer service and the time he took to try and ease my concerns. I want to clarify that in no way was I disappointed in Billy. He was professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. He was at my home within an hour of my phone call, thoroughly evaluated my situation, and with ease unclogged my drain. My issue was never with the service that Billy provided. My issue was and still remains an issue with standardized, blind pricing from Roto-Rooter and throughout the plumbing industry. While I understand, every situation is different and a true quote cannot be given until the issue is evaluated by a professional, the fact that Roto-Rooter uses standardized, flat rate pricing I believe that some sort of transparency could and should be made available during the initial phone call or even on their website. During our conversation I was informed that Roto Rooter uses a standard flat rate pricing system. I was also told that discussions about pricing occur almost on a daily basis with customers just as shocked as I was. I personally feel if this same issue is repeatedly raised that it seems like an opportunity for corporate leadership to improve transparency and set clearer expectations for the customers before the technician arrives. Especially since, as in my case many of us are calling in duress over an unexpected repair. I believe this would build consumer confidence, strengthen trust, and ultimately build customer loyalty. Luck for me I was assigned Joe, one of the most professional service technicians I've ever had the pleasure to work with. He explained exactly what he planned to do and he got it done. No drama, just calm, reassuring professionalism. I felt I was working with someone who knew what they were doing and really had my best interest in mind. What really impressed me most is that he really loves his job and that is a very rare find these days. Joe is a true professional that I will ask for on any future plumbing projects. Horrible experience. At first it was painted as great with great service. Called about a leak, fast response time. Manager, Tim, even came over pretty late in the evening explaining the process to us. Basically promised to walk us through everything, help us with insurance, demolition, fixing the plumbing, and construction work after to fix what was demolished. Charged thousands of dollar (even more than the plumbing work) for demolition. Then when working on the repairs found a list of other things that are also "essential to repair", all while not fixing the original complaint. Then after the plumbing was done basically ghost us and the insurance company, that they promised they would help with. Now, since the insurance company deemed that their work was not needed and excessive, all while not fixing the original complaint, and they won't answer the insurance company they are now coming to us for additional thousands of dollars. $17,000 for a leaking valve later all while expecting a baby any day/week now. Truly believe this company paints this picture of being reliable but is anything but and will do/say whatever it takes to take money from their customers for unnecessary work. read more

This company will do a hack job and charge you an extreme amount of money. I needed a valve soldered on but they stated they can't solder and can only replace the pipes. When replacing the pipes the guy left only an inch of my floor joist intact. I addressed it with him and he said he does it all the time and didn't see an issue. Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup - Water Heater Installation/Repair Near Me - Bristol, Pennsylvania

This company is made up of fraudsters lacking any semblance of a conscience. I called them after a heater failure led to me waking up to a basement full of water. In my panic, I signed on for water mitigation in addition to the unit replacement. This was a terrible mistake. They billed me nearly 7000 dollars for what could not have been more than 2k in labor and materials. That amount does not even include the $2000 water heater replacement, which I paid separately. When my insurance (rightfully) pushed back, listing a number of overestimates and outright fabrications in their line items, Roto-Rooter settled with them for a bit over half and stuck me with the remainder. And those overestimates are EGREGIOUS. A plastic sheet taped to my ceiling? That's a "containment barrier" and is apparently valued at $160. A disinfectant sprayed haphazardly on my washer/dryer? That is "appliance cleaning" and cost me $250. That one was a separate charge from the same disinfectant they sprayed on the floor, which cost me several hundred more. In total there were nearly 40 line items, each with fudged or invented numbers. It would be funny if it wasn't so infuriating. It was my fault in the end for signing the contract without taking a closer look at their reputation first. The company runs a very specific playbook where they promise that your insurance will cover all expenses, and then overcharge to such an extent that no adjuster would reasonably sign off on anywhere close to the full amount. Check the reviews for their many other branches and you'll find this story repeated everywhere. Please do not make the same mistake I did. Find a local, independent business to call. You will be sorry if you call Roto-Rooter. read more

In an emergency, Roto-Rooter came on time and solved my issue. The prices were high, but at least the problem was resolved. For bigger jobs, I would not call them. Their estimates were too high (twice as expensive), and they also misquoted the job, thereby padding their estimate. They were also very eager to get started the very next day. I am thankful that I went with someone else. The only good thing about this company was that the people who showed up were timely and very courteous, as was their phone service. read more

Had to have my sewer pipes dug up and replaced. Customer service was unpleasant, very expensive for the work you get, they have no respect for you or your property and don't explain things to you such as they aren't responsible for replacing concrete they tore up, until after the fact. Let's just say service wise great got the job done, definitely would recommend to others. But But But But I will not recommend, why? Due to the ongoing pandemic and money is tighter then normal now a days. This company is not the one. They over price to the 15th power for a fix that took no more then 20min. I recommend the professionals at Roto Rooter, Bensalem. We had sewer back-up at our rental in Abington which required a "flush-out" late Sunday night, from our roof, after a snow storm. Later work included providing ground access and another flush-out. Every plumber who came out (over 3 days) answered all questions, explained the options fully and was considerate of my renter. Be very careful with these guys. I had a clogged sewer line somewhere between my house and the main sewer line on Xmass Eve. These guys did get out there in about 8 hours, but could not unclog the line. The guy who came out gave me some BS sales line that the trap was bad, and needed to be replaced. Said it would cost $4850 and he book the work right away for Monday. Charged me $510 for coming out AND broke the cap for the cleanout access. Luckily it was not backing into my house so I called my regular plumber, RG Williams that night and left word with his answering service. They were out first thing Monday morning and within 20 mins had the clogged cleared and a new cap on, all for about 60% less. In fairness to this business it was xmass eve and the did in fact come out. However it is quite obvious they are not very skilled and/or have sub par equipment. Stick with your local guys whenever you can!! read more
