The name says it all: The Bamiyan Buddhas were carved in the 6th century and were 180 feet tall and 125 feet tall, carved into a sheer rock face. It was a large center for Silk Road trade, and a major center for Buddhist teachings. They were destroyed by the Taliban in March 2021. Unlike other Silk Road restaurants, this serves no dumplings (pelmeni/jiaozi); no stuffed flatbreads (naan), and it is entirely Halal. I loved everything about my visit here, and I plan to bring my family here!
