We LOVE Morning Glory. We feel so fortunate to have found them. My daughter had a rough previous experience elsewhere - she would cry and hold me not wanting to leave. But here? I have to ask for a kiss goodbye as she races right in without looking back because she loves Morning Glory so much. She is genuinely excited to go every morning. When we moved from the east side unexpectedly this year, I called EIGHT preschools to find a last-minute spot for my daughter. Morning Glory was the only place that gave me a good feeling right away. Susanna cares a lot about the kids and is truly invested in them, and that was evident from the first phone call with her. Subsequently it was the only school we toured (when you know, you know). Morning Glory has an easygoing environment, which was important to our family. It's the perfect mix of play and learning, and I've been blown away by how they handle sensitive issues; when the class turtle passed in October, they set up an ofrenda for him on the Day of the Dead - complete with a lettuce leaf offering! - and talked about his passing in a way that my daughter understood. It's such a small thing, but it's indicative of how thoughtful they are with impressionable little minds. My daughter is learning to read and write at a pace that works for her (no stress, just excitement), and she often comes home with interesting bits of information about things like the solar system, bugs and clouds, before demonstrating the yoga poses she learned. Oh, and her woodworking art is awesome. She's also making great friends, and LOVES her teachers. The school puts a lot of effort into creating a welcoming community. I had a chance to visit this wonderful preschool while I was visiting my brother in LA. My nephew currently goes to this school and I've seen such a positive change within a couple of months. He was such a shy kid before and now he can't stop talking about everything he's learned at school and all his friends as well. Its easy to tell that the teachers are attentive to the needs of each child and you can really see what a difference that makes (I had an opportunity to observe the school when I picked up my nephew from school for two weeks with my sister-in-law). I like how the school is small. Makes it feel like a community where the kids get the attention they need and it's not about superfluous gimmicks like how fancy the technology is or how new the toys are. There's just the right amount of stimulus where the kids can stay focused and truly learn in a great environment. Would definitely recommend to other parents. read more

My daughter has been here for one month and I have nothing but good things to say about Morning Glory. Their COVID-19 protocol is efficient, organized, and instills a lot of trust in me. Out of the preschools I considered, Morning Glory was the most helpful and the most direct with all of my questions and concerns. The team here is warm and friendly and my daughter adjusted so quickly! I've already seen so much positive growth in her socialization and interests. When we toured preschools, we made sure to tour many on the west side, and loved what we learned about this school and their philosophy. My daughter began her foray into any type of outside care here at Morning Glory in September of 2012. The transition was smooth, and everyone working there gives their all to be there for your child. The kids are all very sweet, and it's like a big ol' family there. We really wanted our daughter to be able to go from her nearly three years of being with her Mama to a comfortable school that gave her that same warm feeling she got from being with us. We found that and more at Morning Glory! We toured a ton of preschools in Venice, Culver City and Santa Monica and they all felt so cold and very institutional - until we found Morning Glory. We were told about the school by the Kindergarten teacher at my husband's job (he works at the school across the street), and immediately asked to tour based on her rec and the close proximity to my husband's job in case of emergency. As it turned out, not only does Morning Glory GO to my husband's school during their emergency protocol, but my husband is the one that will help coordinate it. Perfect. I love all of the teachers, especially the ones who deal with my daughter's class- the Juniors. You have to have a lot of patience to deal with potty training children, and kids like mine who don't quite know how to play with other kids her age. My daughter went from a diaper wearing shy little girl to the potty trained "loudest singer in the school" in just 6 months. I am already dreading having to take her out in a few years. read more

We had to wait three months to get both our children into Morning Glory. It was well worth the wait! Sonia and her staff (Evelyn, Erik, Marisol and Denise) are the best....warm, nurturing, genuinely interested in the children, and very aware of each child's strong/weak points. I say weak points because Sonia brought to our attention that our son was not at the level of the other kids in his group. She told us she felt he needed to be tested at Westside Regional Center. She was right. He's now in a specialized school. Our daughter continued to go and loved it. She looked forward to going everyday. Their weekly calendar was always filled with fun activities. She brought home daily projects ie jewelry, paintings, wood work pieces, etc.... It's such a relief, as a working mother, to be able to drop off my child and not have to worry or feel badly about leaving them. Whoever is reading this, I hope Sonia has room for your child(ren). My daughters have been at Morning Glory Preschool for almost a year now. The older one came with me on the tour and said immediately that this was the place she wanted to go. Both girls have been loved and nurtured at Morning Glory and I'm very happy with the decision to go here. The director and teachers put a lot of effort into developing an age appropriate curriculum that will keep the kids engaged without unnecessary pressure. I'm amazed at the variety of projects they do and the concepts that they are learning. All of the teachers are very patient, and kind. In the year that I've been there, there has been no teacher turnover. The other parents and kids are very nice as well. I've really enjoyed getting to know them better over the last year, not just in passing at school, but also at birthday parties and at the various holiday parties the school coordinates throughout the year. The only negative I can think of is the fact that you have to navigate the intersection at Washington and Lincoln to get there. This can take a while, but don't let that dissuade you. Actually once you're inside the school, or even in their courtyard out bak, you don't hear the traffic noise and you forget that Morning Glory on a main street. I'm glad I found this school, and I won't hesitate to send my other kids there when they are old enough to go. read more

We've recently joined the family at Morning Glory Preschool as of November 2018. I call it a family because not only have the teachers warmly welcomed our son into their school but they have also opened their arms to us, the parents. It takes a village to make a school what you hope it can be and I think the collaborative environment and flow of information and curriculum plan is very much in line with what we want for our child. He comes home singing in Spanish and talking about other cultures and holiday celebrations they enjoy. We are in LOVE with this school!!! For our family is like a second home. We moved a year ago from Malbourne, Australia and our 4 year old son Luca didn't have any problems to adapt to new enviroment. Comparing to old school, love this better since the groups are smaller and it feels like family. Director Susana and teachers are simply wonderful, very cearing, loving and professional. Our son is so exited every morning to get to school and start his day and doesn't stop talking about his day when he is picked up. "A Perfect Little Preschool" You've probably driven by Morning Glory Preschool a hundred times and never knew it was there. It's nestled up the street off the corner of Lincoln and Washington. For the past year our boys have had such a great time attending Morning Glory. It's such a welcoming environment and our boys loved it. The school is relatively small but Sonia and the teachers make use of every inch of it and provide the children with everything they need to succeed. The teachers are absolutely wonderful and truly care about all of the kids. I love Morning Glory Preschool, my daughter has been going there since she turned 2 1/2 and she has received nothing but love and individual attention along with learning and fun. When I was pregnant, I toured about 8 preschools and this is the only one I walked into and felt real warmth and love for the children. There was much showboating at the others with all the talk of Waldorf, Reggio, etc. I thought this would be most important to me as I come from a very academic background. My daughter is very attached to me and I wanted to find an environment that was loving, fun, safe and attentive with a bit of structure. Since attending Morning Glory her confidence has increased dramatically and she loves school. This is one of the few preschools that also assist parents in potty training which was very helpful to us. The days are action packed at Morning Glory and there are classes in soccer, yoga and art. My daughter has been attending Morning Glory Preschool for about 1 year now. Since attending, she has grown leaps and bounds. There are so many things that we love about the school... the close family community, small classroom size, incredible tuition rates and the wonderful, compassionate and attentive teachers. On the morning of our tour, director Sonia's primary concern was that my daughter was entertained and content before sitting down with me to discuss the school's program. I was originally referred to Morning Glory from a very good friend and then met a stranger and new neighbor who's daughter attended Morning Glory. Both parents highly recommended Morning Glory and its owner, Sonia. Now I am writing this review to confirm that they were both right!!! Sonia not only creates a nurturing and creative environment but she has succeeded in building a community between the kids, parents, teachers and families. We have had two children go through Morning Glory and she was able to identify their own unique abilities and guide and lead them individually. They introduce kids to: sensory experiences (building sand volcanoes, etc), yoga, art, wood working and a variety of other activities which I believe build a great foundation for the kids in the future. Sonia brings specialists in on occasion for additional training in child behavior and growth. The faculty is able to discipline and teach fundamental "right" and "wrongs" in a positive and loving manner. They're also always there to help celebrate a birthday or special event in the kid's lives. I'm filled with gratitude for coming across Sonia and her wonderful staff that she had while we were there: Evelyn, Marisol, Erik and Denise... This is the best little secret in Venice and I, like other parents, drove by this little school for 4 years never knowing it was there. Nestled at the corner of Lincoln & Washington, this little school immediately felt right when I walked in. It was referred by a friend of ours, and I can't thank her enough for sharing her little secret gem with me! My daughter started this school at 3 and had never attended a school before, so for the first month she cried every day when I left her. Sonia, the owner herself, met me every day and comforted her assuring me that as soon as I was gone, she would stop crying and join in with the other kids. Almost immediately we noticed a huge change in her language, knowledge and just general social interaction and when my mother visited after she attended the school for 2 months, she noticed it was night and day, how she had developed. We are now at the end of our 2 years with Morning Glory and to me if she could continue growing with this environment, I would be happy to leave her there until high school, but alas, she must move on, so with tears I say good bye to the most caring devoted teachers you could hope for as your child starts the school journey and thank them for an amazing two years.
