This coffee shot has potential. It is a beautiful house, decorated for customers to hang out & enjoy coffee. The Americano I ordered was ok-- could be a tad stronger & the coffee shop was out of creamer on a Saturday morning. Lots of potential, but still quite mediocre. However, this is a small town, but it is also a college town, so the potential for drastic improvement is there. Take it up a notch!

A quaint coffee shop that would be a great place but I found it messy. It was in need of being picked up, trash emptied & floor vacuumed.

Cute place with good coffee. We tried the cold brew, it was strong and good! Espresso the cat was a homey addition.

Sandwiches come with mayo offering no choice to the customer. Chips served in ziploc bags. Weird.

Best coffee place in town! Relaxing ambiance, and still maintains the feel of a social gathering place.

It highly surpassed my expectations and I was happy to find almond milk in small town.

The town has spoken and Jitterbug Coffeehouse is the place to go!…read more We walked into this cozy shop that was decorated with puzzles in frames on the walls, set up with tables & chairs, with games, a couch and a lounge chair in back to order some coffee. My daughter ordered a hot mocha and I ordered what's called an undertow... Are you asking what the heck an undertow is? Lol, you guessed right. I'm not from around here! An Undertow coffee is a layered drink, essentially a strong shot of hot espresso floated over cold, sweetened milk (often vanilla-flavored), creating a distinct hot/cold contrast meant to be drunk quickly as one. It's made by pouring espresso over the back of a spoon onto a base of syrup and milk in a short cup, delivering a powerful, flavorful punch in one go! When they made mine, it could had more cream, but I barely explained it the right way, lol. It was still very delicious and I got a delicious caffeine hot to get me through the last day of shopping before Christmas!! The staff here seemed like they were family! They were nice and while we waited for our drinks, we sat on the couch admiring all of the cool puzzles that were framed on the wall. There was a wall that said, " Pay It Forward...Buy a coffee or a meal for someone" I love their beautiful giving hearts. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but I noticed their Instagram handle at the bottom @jitterbugcoffeehouse, so I'm sure we can get more information there. I can't wait to come back! Take care and happy Holidays!!

It dares to believe there is room for something fresh on familiar streets. Board on Third carries that ambition with confidence. From the moment you step inside, it's clear that care went into the space. The décor feels curated rather than assembled -- modern without sterility, warm without cliché. There's a sense of thoughtful layering: textures that play off each other, lighting that flatters rather than floods, and design choices that signal intention. It feels like a place built for gathering -- a backdrop for conversations that linger. The staff reinforces that promise. Attentive without hovering, present without being performative. Water glasses don't empty unnoticed. Questions are answered with clarity. There's an eagerness that reads as pride -- and that matters in a new establishment finding its rhythm. Then came the chicken quesadilla. Tex-Mex is deceptively simple. It asks for restraint, but demands execution. The tortilla is not a vessel; it is the foundation. Fresh-pressed, it should offer elasticity and blistered character, carrying the aroma of toasted flour. Here, it felt ordinary -- serviceable, but lacking the tender resilience and warmth that elevates a quesadilla from cafeteria fare to something transportive. The chicken followed suit. Slightly chewy, suggesting either a previous freeze or a reheating cycle beyond its prime. Not inedible -- but uninspired. For a dish built on so few elements, each one must carry weight. When even one falters, the whole plate sinks. To be fair, every new restaurant deserves grace. Kitchens calibrate. Suppliers shift. Line cooks find their tempo. Growing pains are part of the story arc. And in a place like Batesville, supporting that arc matters. But context matters too. Coming from Texas -- where Tex-Mex is less cuisine and more birthright -- the bar sits high. A quesadilla is not a casual afterthought; it is a benchmark. On this visit, that benchmark was missed. None of this negates the promise. The space has charm. The staff has heart. The ambition is evident. What's needed now is refinement -- especially on dishes that appear simple but demand precision. Board on Third has the framework of something lasting. With tighter execution in the kitchen and attention to foundational details, it could become a cornerstone rather than just a newcomer. The potential is there. Now it's a matter of meeting it.
