We stopped in here for a quick morning coffee on our road trip back to the airport and were pleasantly surprised. I got a latte with sugar free vanilla syrup and almond milk, and it's honestly one of the best that I've ever had. I'd put it up against any coffee shop in Houston. It highly surpassed my expectations and I was happy to find almond milk in small town. We sadly didn't grab a scone but they looked very tasty as well. I'd definitely come here to hang out here if I lived in Batesville. read more

This coffee shot has potential. It is a beautiful house, decorated for customers to hang out & enjoy coffee. The Americano I ordered was ok-- could be a tad stronger & the coffee shop was out of creamer on a Saturday morning. Lots of potential, but still quite mediocre. However, this is a small town, but it is also a college town, so the potential for drastic improvement is there. Take it up a notch! read more

This coffee house is located in an old house. Serves a variety of coffee drinks & pastries. It has several rooms to sit & relax. It would deserve 5 stars if it was kept clean & picked up. When I stopped in, it was messy, trash bins needed emptying & floors vacuumed. Only takes a little effort to be presentable & organized. read more

I did not have high hopes for this coffee shop because most shops I have tried have a weird after taste after drinking their coffee. However, this coffee shop is amazing! When you come in, you are immediately in a calm and welcoming atmosphere. The shop is very organized and tidy. The shop has games, tables and chairs, and lounge chairs. The staff is welcoming and friendly. The shop has a menu with great variety. They have lattes, cappuccinos, mochas, sodas, juice, water, hot chocolate, and more. The prices are also very affordable. For reference, I got a small white chocolate mocha for $3.35. Overall, I recommend this coffee shop, and I can not wait to come back here again! read more

Great little coffee house. I had a chi tea and others in my group had a fabulous looking cupcake/muffin they said was to die for. Quaint little rooms with couches or tables. They also sell gift items. One draw back they were super busy so we had to wait a while for our order. But, worth my time!!! read more

Having lived in Batesville many years ago I can remember when Morningside first began in their original location. Things were fine then and there and they still are at their new/current location. The pastries/baked good look and taste pretty mediocre, and the coffee much the same. Too much water in their Americanos just like before. The staff leave something to be desired as well, they are short with you, distant, and at times a little cold. What they do have is a great, warm space that you could chill out in for hours. But, then again, you can only chill out there until 2pm which is just strange for a coffee shop to close that early. 5 stars for their space, 2 for the drinks and food, 2 for the staff, and 1 for those terrible hours. I'll be kind and give them 3 stars. I won't be a regular here though, not unless they change the hours so that I can even be here when they're open...... read more

Legit coffee house. The kind you want to hangout in and enjoy. Great for meeting up early or staying out late.

Sandwiches come with mayo offering no choice to the customer. Chips served in ziploc bags. Weird.

I have been here twice. Got a mocha both times and excellent both times. Got a highly recommended scone the first trip and it was great and the employees were very nice. Second time, I got a turkey sandwich. It was pre-made and wrapped in plastic and cost 5.75. I'd pass on that in the future. It was 9 am and thought it was obvious I was asking for breakfast sandwich recommendations. Different employees on this trip and didn't seem as enthused as the first trip employees. Would definitely come back again and again. read more

They have amazing coffee and a good selection of hot teas. The staff (save one who is rarely there) is nice and helpful. They're cakes and cookies are great but they run out of the best things earlier than they close. They're sandwiches are made in the morning so no, you can't order special but they have mayo you can put on yourself. They're chips are no longer in ziploc bags. haha read more

Excellent choice of pastries, and the chips are in proper bags. Staff is great, soups are excellent and I LOVE the cafe breves.
