Then, go from $200 to $275 after next three months. That's a 175% increase in only 6 months. I have space at another space shop self-storage (on Buford Hwy) and they were good about their rate increases, only doing it in batches of 10%. At any rate, all these storage places do this. (Their mindset is that the increases won't be enough to make the hassle of moving your crap worth it). This particular on is the worst I've ever experienced. Plenty of more reasonable options in the area, so avoid this one.

To top it all off, the associate working on the day we rented was an hour late, did not show us where our unit was, and was not there when I went back to ask questions. This place is horrific. Public storage is by far the worst place you could ever get a storage unit. They trick you with…read moreadvertising low monthly payments but very quickly the dollar amount changes. They lock you out of your unit for the most ridiculous reasons and after you get a unit they slowly raise the price without notifying you. I used the auto pay feature for a long time and finally found out they raised my bill an extra $100+/month and god forbid if you're late. They don't just have a late fee. They find ways to give you a laundry list of expensive fees that they add to weekly. When people get storage units it's usually because they are going through a tough situation and they don't work with you at all. Don't get taken advantage of, find somewhere else to store your possessions. I came into the office because I was locked out of the gate. I explained my family is in an emergency situation and we need to get into our unit. We also mentioned that this was the second time we drove an hour to get there. I was only 1 week late and they still refused to let me in my unit. I told them I will be able to make the payment the following Friday when I get my paycheck. It's just inhumane, after years of paying on time and the amount of money we are consistently paying a month I couldn't believe they refused to let me access my unit just once while I was there and desperately needed to get in.

When I asked for an explanation for such a significant increase, I was informed that they could raise the rent at any time because the agreement was month to month. I was then advised that if I did not pay the increased amount by the 7th of the month, my belongings would be placed up for auction. The following day--before the stated deadline--I discovered that my personal property had already been listed for auction, including photographs of the contents of my unit. As a result, I felt pressured, taken advantage of, and treated unfairly. To prevent the loss of my belongings, I paid the increased amount that same day. Immediately thereafter, I requested to cancel my rental agreement, as it was a month-to-month contract. Once I entered the unit to get my things I realized two TVs and a tool box with small handheld computers were missing!! I would strongly caution others against renting from this company due to what I believe to be predatory practices and a lack of good-faith dealing. They can't be TRUSTED!

They state one price online, but then Jack up the price. The refuse to honor the price, giving only one discount for your unit. It's basically legal blackmail, as they know you're most unlikely to move units. I've been misinformed on multiple items. property manager suggested I get a family member to rent a new unit, as the current unit kept going up in price and PS failed to honor the original price. Upon moving in the unit, the price jacked from $47 to $120. Needless to say I immediately moved out. Also note they lie about their locks. BRING your own and refuse theirs. They WILL not give money back for returned locks. I was told this, and returned TWO. In which I expected $42 to be refunded; was even told so over the phone. Yet they haven't. I'm about to file a police report and complaint with better business. Horrible company, DO NOT TRUST them!

Renter beware…read more Beware of the bait and switch with Prime Storage in Marietta at Shallowford. After only 2 months, our storage unit rental price went up 300%. When I called, they negotiated down to only doubling the rent. :| I specifically asked if we were getting a move-in special rate that would only be available for a short time, and I was told no. That this was the storage unit rate. I was willing to overlook the dark hallways - light bulbs have been out around our unit the whole time - and the fact we unloaded stuff to move into a unit that was already taken and had to be reassigned, but the bait and switch is intolerable. Read the fine print. The contract is meaningless. We were planning on renting a second storage unit from Prime Storage. Instead, we will be moving out to another storage facility.
