I was moving into another apartment within my complex last week and needed a good service I could trust who also had great prices and these guys were just that. Lamar and his crew showed up in their designated time frame, were fast, friendly, professional and excellent at what they do. Even the process of setting everything up with Ms. Carol in the front office was smooth and professional. ***BEWARE*** I scheduled a move with RMC movers last week as the closing on our house was moved up and we had only a few days to move out. I had heard many horror stories involving moving companies but against their better advice I hired RMC due to their great reviews. That was the worst decision I could have made throughout this whole process. 1. After a great conversation with Carol in the office, I was assured she would be sending experienced movers with over 11 years of experience after reading another review mentioning inexperienced movers. The contract stated that they would be supplying 3 movers and they brought 4 movers instead but the team leader (Lamar) was very clearly the only experienced mover on this job. One mover stated that he had never even worked on a moving job before so the team leader was training him which slowed down the process and cost me more $$$. The 2 other movers also did not seem experienced as the team leader kept yelling at them for wrapping furniture incorrectly which again ended up costing me more time and MORE $$$ in redo work. The team leader mentioned that he had to bring a Uhaul truck since his other crew had the company truck on another job, I can only believe that this is the experienced crew that I was promised. If I knew I would not be getting the experienced crew, I would have NEVER chosen this company. 2. Inexperienced movers also led to broken furniture. Even more than the broken furniture was the general apathy towards my broken furniture. At one point, I noticed that the team leader had taken out glue and tried to glue a leg back to the dining room table without even consulting with me first!! When I asked what he was doing, I was told that the leg had came apart as if it was simply unscrewed but upon further inspection it was very clearly broken by his guys. He jokingly mentioned that he was not going to say anything to me at first and hoped that I would not notice. How would I not notice MY broken table?!?! He kept mentioning that it's not that bad and no one is going to look under the table to notice a broken table leg. He assured me that I would not even notice after it was glued back together. From the picture attached, anyone would be able to notice this broken table leg. I was originally told that the furniture would be disassembled and then individually wrapped which would have made it easier and safer to transport this table. The team leader opted to not disassemble and advised me to spend an extra $40 on boxes to help keep the furniture safe which still lead to broken pieces. He kept mentioning that it is not that big of a deal and I did not buy the full coverage insurance (which costs an extra $300 dollars by the way). That is an absurd amount for insurance, I would rather have used that $300 towards buying a brand new table than towards insurance which is what I'm going to do anyways without having to go through the hassle of insurance. In addition to the broken table leg, the glass from our china cabinet was also broken but he offered $60 off of the cost to replace the broken glass. They also unscrewed the door of the dining room cabinet and then lost the screws. The team leader told me I can replace the screws and screw it back on myself... isn't that what I am paying you for! I am not naive enough to believe that during a move nothing will end up scratched or possibly even broken but customers are spending their hard earned money for EXPERIENCED movers to treat their belongings with care. At the whopping cost of $160 PER HOUR (way more than some other moving companies), I deserve experienced guys or I could have just hired several inexperienced guys myself to do the job for less than half of what I paid. 3. We requested one living room set, a dining set, 3 dressers, a table, 2 refrigerators, washer/dryer and absolutely NO boxes to be moved 8 minutes down the road. I was told this would not take long but this job took 6 HOURS AND cost ALMOST $1000 ($960 to be exact) which is absolutely egregious!!! It took these guys over 4 hours just to wrap the furniture (again the team leader was the only experienced one and was wrapping very efficiently with nothing broken). It took the other 2 guys over an hour to do a shoddy job at wrapping just the dining room cabinet which still ended up broken. Basically inexperience lead to a higher cost and broken furniture. We have moved all of the same furniture on our own before with nothing broken. As the saying goes, don't expect others to care for your belongings as much as you. When our new home is ready I will most definitely NOT be giving RMC movers a call BUT LET THIS SERVE AS YOUR WARNING!!! read more

A few red flags. 1. They claim to be licensed, but they're not registered on the GA licensure board for movers. And I was stood up. No one called or called by. The representative called me today, and profusely apologized, and I reluctantly gave them another chance. He actually told me that they intentionally overbook and choose the customers who will pay the most. And, today, I've been stood up again!!! So, I seriously question their good reviews. A few years back I decided I was fed up with the U-Haul, do-it-yourself type of moving experience and decided I would hire some guys to do it for me. I looked up reviews and found a RMC. Everything from booking the move through the entire experience was a breeze and I have since used them several more times to the same great success. For my most recent move I got it in my head to call around and price check some different places, each business was more infuriating than the last. At least 2 businesses just answered the phone with a gruff "hello" or "yes,' leaving me confused as to whether I had even called a business or the wrong number. Dudes were rather short and rude when taking my details and each quoted me numbers that far exceeded RMC. One even wanted to charge is double for travel time, which would have been an additional $170 for a short drive down 285. I finally woke up and have RMC a call. The women in the office that do the booking and confirmation are spectacular; nice, professional, and kind. I got 3 guys this time around for a lesser rate than any other business quoted me and a $55 charge for the travel distance (far less than $170!) As always, the guys were friendly and fast, moving things with ease while being careful with all of our things. We moved to the 4th floor at our new place, which was a lot of work for these guys on a hot July day but they got it done in amazing time. I cannot recommend these guys enough. They take great care of you and your things while remaining courteous and professional the whole time. They're well worth the price and more! read more

The move did not go well. The crew were very polite, had a good attitude, and worked extremely hard, however it was very obvious that they were inexperienced and had not been properly trained. As a result I had a good bit of damage to both my property and furnishings, and the move took much longer than it should. read more

HORRIBLE !! UNRELIABLE !! RUDE !! " UNLICENSED COMPANY " I contacted this company the end of February to prepare for a move March 21, 2017. The owner Lamar came to my house and surveyed everything. He quoted me a fair price, however I told him I would consider and get back with him. I excepted the agreement and signed a contract. We spoke numerous time, so we could be in agreement. The price included packing the entire downstairs and finish packing my master bedroom. I had packed the majority of my upstairs, Lamar told me to sit down and they would pack and handle everything, which is what I did. I see several doctors because I have health issue. March 16, my doctor told me he need to run a rest before he transfer my records to Florida. I immediately contacted Lamar to explain and told him I would be back home by 1:00 on the 21st. He complained and was inconsiderate , and I finally told him my health is my priority. He then asked me to let the movers come in my house and pack while I was not there. I told him I was not taking that risk...I do not know these people. I am glad I did not because there is a negative review on record about a lady's ring got stolen and he did nothing. I have to many expensive things to risk that. I contacted Lamar as I was walking out of my doctor appointment at 12:20. He said the crew is on the way. I waited hours for them to come. Called Lamar to inform him. The movers called me and I told them it was to late. They came anyway and arrived at my house at 5:30 pm over 4 hours late. Had no remorse, apology or nothing. I told them I could not be up all night and leave early to go drive to Florida. They came the next day without calling in advance and I had took medicine a was sleep. Lamar had said he do not charge deposits, but got angry and wanted me to pay $2800,00 deposit. He told me to talk to the lady in office Rosilyn who is rude ,nasty and QUEEN & OF MEAN. I agreed to pay deposit, then she started about me paying balance after first truck was unloaded. I told her I refused. They were constantly changing. I am in a 3200 sq,ft. house and have over $150.000 in antiques and over $60.00 in statues, sculptors, and different imports from around the world. I finally realized these people are not who I want to trust my belonging to. They are selfish and only consider themselves. They are total idiots, because I could have easily paid $7200.00. Rosilyn tried to insult me saying they did not want to involve the police in Florida, like I was not going to pay. I was not going to pay before my things were unloaded , because I have about 40 x $ 7200.00 at risk. They did not consider my property at risk to loose much more that the cost of the move...totally insane, and selfish . These people are a total nuisance and will have you stressed out , jerked around, andupset for lack of professionalism and honesty. I got sick I was so stressed out, and had to delay my move for 3 weeks,and get another company. This company word is about as creditable as a three dollar bill. These people are a NIGHTMARE !! I google on line and located this company on Saturday ( 10/1/16). Originally I was scheduled for a move time on Monday. I very professional gentleman named Louis called back the same day to let me know that they could fit me in. I needed a very heavy office desk moved into my home office. Although there were some logistical issues, the two movers Bailey and (I forgot the other name) we able to maneuver some things around and get the desk moved. These guys were very professional and took very good care of the article being moved (wrapping it before attempting to move it.) The price of the job was reasonable. We moved the week before Thanksgiving 2015 and were very happy with Lamar and his crew! They were very professional and efficient. They moved us out of our house quickly and kept our belongings on the truck in storage (we ended up keeping it on the truck for 2 extra days due to drama with our lender). I can not even begin to describe how awful my experience was with RMC Movers. Hands down the worse moving experience I have ever had or likely will ever have in the future as well. The movers Tyson and Joseph were very friendly, respectful and apologetic. However, the owner Lamar is extremely unprofessional, disrespectful and completely out of control. He showed up at my apartment to handle complaints and instead of being apologetic and helpful and concerned he lashed out at my boyfriend and I. Not only did his lashing out include screaming, degrading personalized comments and a extensive vocabulary of obscene words, but he caused such a horrific scene that my neighbors called the leasing office management on him. Long story short after Lamar repeatedly threatened my boyfriend, threatened to steal my things and take my money we ended up having to call the police. An officer had to supervise the second half of my move to ensure my personal belongings were not broken or stolen by RMC. I feel it is my duty to the rest of the public to warn you of what can be expected from Lamar and how he runs a business or lack there of. Please save yourself the headache and hardship and hire a legitimate moving company that will treat you, your family and your belongings with the care and respect you deserve!! read more
