They patched the tire (poorly), and tried to steal my valve stem cap saying I didn't come in with one. Very creative. They replaced it with a broken plastic one until I requested they take an extra look around. A-HA, Victor "found one lying around" that happened to be exactly the one I drove in with. Super cute, guys! They parked my car a block away from the shop and loosened my lug bolts. So when I drove off and took my first turn onto the 10 freeway, my vehicle started shaking violently. Luckily I was able to exit a couple exits down and found a shop not run by basic juveniles. They were appalled by American Tires' behavior and kindly rebalanced and tightened the lug bolts. I appreciate Paul for noting my disappointment for not being acknowledged when entering the shop. And taking a valve stem cap is whatever, fine. Not very original but you made your point. But loosening lug bolts isn't just a punk prank. It's one with actual material consequences had I gotten into a wreck. All the other people waiting for their cars had children under the age of 5 or 6. I hope they didn't mess with their cars too. On Mother's Day. Granted... the repair was free! Which I didn't expect when I arrived. But the cost of the subsequent repair was not. I need new tires and definitely won't get them here. And these guys will still get their pay without my business. But it seems like a better business practice to just be like normal and nice and not vindictive.

I was able to make the trip but once I hit a LA every time I hit the break a scraping noise would happen. i came in about a tire and explain what was going on with the break. Andy gave me the bad news easy that the front left brake caliper had become dislodged because a bracket bolt was missing, which was causing the abnormal noise. Well i'm not very knowledgeable about cars, so it meant a lot that he showed me what was happening and walked me through the repairs. He literally made a drawing for me as I'm a visual learner. The whole experience could have been really stressful, but Andy was patient, transparent, and made me feel like my car was in good hands. I'm really thankful they caught the issue when they did. I 100% absolutely recommend Andy and this Big O Tires location. They got you!

Here's the story: my girlfriend comes in with a flat that any half-conscious human could have patched. Instead, Pep Boys' resident tire scholar declares it a run-flat (it wasn't), says run-flats can't be patched (also not how any of this works), and sells her a brand new tire. How generous. Fast forward to today. Another flat, same tire. We take it to American Tire, who informs us the ONLY run-flat on the car is, plot twist, the exact tire Pep Boys swapped in. The one they sold her. So either their guy was so bad at his job he diagnosed a regular tire as a run-flat and then installed an actual run-flat by accident, or he knew exactly what he was doing and saw a woman walk in alone and smelled commission. Either way, the options are scam or stupidity, and honestly neither one is a great pitch for a tire shop. Save your money, save your time, and go literally anywhere else. American Tire didn't try to sell us a submarine. Low bar, but Pep Boys limboed right under it.

Earlier that day, I had taken my car to the dealership, where I was given nearly $3,000 worth of recommended repairs. They even told me there was a chance my car (Toyota Corolla 2023) might not start the next time I drove it and recommended replacing all four tires. Wanting a second opinion, I came to Just Tires. Dale listened to my concerns, carefully inspected everything the dealership had recommended, and took the time to explain everything in a way that actually made sense. He never pressured me or tried to upsell me. Instead, he gave me an honest assessment and confirmed that only one tire needed replacement. A few hours later, I walked out having spent only $160 instead of thousands. I was honestly blown away. Finding an auto shop you can trust is hard, and Dale earned mine. Because of this experience, Just Tires will be my first stop for future service. I only hope Dale gets the recognition he deserves because employees like him are the reason customers come back.

They called maybe an hour or so later and couldn't find the wheel lock key (which I didn't even know I had /needed). Long story short, we found it (the worker showed me where it is typically stored with the spare and other tools - which was very helpful and I honestly had no idea). The tire ended up having a nail so they patched it. $50. I can't remember price of my last patch but it seemed relatively inexpensive to me. I did ask them if they do smog checks because my car is due, but they do not. I would bring my car back here for anything tire related. Friendly & helpful staff.

The Good - Cook said the nail didn't fully puncture the tire and it didn't need to be replaced. So I appreciate the honesty for this part. 2. The Bad - Replacement of the front brakes. After a few months the brakes were still squeaking and I called to mention this and they said to drive the car longer and it will stop. A year later and they still squeak. I took the car to a mechanic for in inspection and was told that Cook used Oreilly brakes and did not use OEM BWM brakes. Cook did not offer it as an option. It is a 2022 BMW and the brakes the used are unsatisfactory. Had I known they would not use original parts or offer it, I would have had this service done elsewhere. I should have went to a BMW specialized mechanic.

I didnt realize its that hard for a business to help customers with a single 1-2 page form that literally lists the vehicle details, date sold, and the sale amount. If you open at 7a and you know someone has an appt at 7a, maybe schedule your bathroom break accordingly? Like before you open? Leave a sign somewhere that says .. "be right back" ?? Anything? Side note; the mechanic seemed like a woman hater.

My engine light suddenly came on a few days ago and then the engine started to make a funny noise…read more Due to a combination of a crazy schedule and having been frustrated with my most recent experiences with local dealerships, I decided to try out Mobile Mechanic. It's one of the best decisions I have made this year. Will was able to come out with a day or so and run a diagnostics check, quickly locating the issue and showing me the results. He explained to me what the issue was, discussed options, gave me a full quote and a price - highly competitive. With me agreeing to what needed to be done, he ordered the part (Saturday) and came back the next day (Sunday) to install it. Incredibly helpful and so polite, he showed me the new part, walked me through what he was going to do and afterward even showed me the part he removed and explained the wear and why it was actually perfect timing. Within hours I was up and running again, good as new. I have NEVER had service like this from a dealership in all my years of being a car owner and driver (and that's several decades). Will also flagged other things that I needed to be aware of (including needing an oil change - which I will be getting him to come and do) but at no point pushed for me to do them there and then - zero pressure, just guidance. He repeatedly asked if I had any questions and was keen for me to understand what was happening and why - superb! He even cleared up the work area after he'd finished. Flawless. Aside from the convenience and Will just being an incredibly nice guy, his attention to detail and service are second to none. Friendly and knowledgable, he works hard to make sure you understand what he's doing, and is professional and polite at every step along the way. Will clearly cares and takes great pride in what he does. He's the only person I will be going to for my automotive service needs from now on. Highly recommended.

I use my 1999 Honda Accord V6 to travel to my clients six days a week. It is my office and my livelihood its important that I keep my car running in excellent condition. I was recommended to Morris Automotive by the local VW dealer two years ago, and have been taking my car to Morris Automotive for all major tuneups and miscellaneous repairs since then. About 6 months ago I had a funny rattle coming from the right rear of my car; rattles from older cars are difficult if not impossible to fix, and Dave made at least 3 attempts to locate and remedy the problem without charging me for the time spent trying to diagnose the problem. I have dropped in several times with minor problems they have interrupted their work flow and he is willing to take the 20 minutes to deal them and send me one my way, often without charge. Once, because a repair had to be modified, through no fault of Morris Automotive, they were not going to charge me for the parts and labor. When I couldn't him to charge me for the job, I at least got him to let me pay for the part! If I have to leave my car, they provide a driver to take me home. I've used many auto service companies in the past 25 years, and none are more satisfying and fair to deal with. I find the prices fair and the response to my concerns excellent. I have absolute confidence in their workmanship, and I highly recommend Morris Automotive to all who care about their cars, and want to be treated with courtesy, fairness and honesty. read more

So happy this fine repair shop was recommended to me by my trusted, longtime mechanic in Sarasota, FL (whom i shall review next -Beiler's Automotive). My daughter was new to L.A. when her reliable Honda was totaled, and after replacing it with a used car from a driving school, soon learned that seller's advertised claims of "new parts, excellent condition, no repairs needed" were untrue. Furthermore, whenever she went to full-service gas stations, to check out problems with fluid levels & dashboard lights, she'd get charged $20 extra, but no real clue. But when she contacted Morris Automotive, they scheduled her right away, for diagnostic and thorough looking-over. Although they found the car needed more than she could afford, they helped her prioritize immediate from which items could wait a while. They are HONEST and when giving estimates, didn't pressure her, but gave her time to consider whether car was worth further investment. Both owner, Dave Morris and shop manager, Rich Donohue are on-site and always helpful, informative and more than considerate. They absolutely guarantee their work so don't charge if a follow-up is needed. As a bonus, right next door is an old fashioned, great place to eat -- the Tulip Cafe. User Rating: 5 out of 5 stars by Corky 08/27/2010 Ever since I discovered Morris automotive on a list of AAA-approved car servicers, they have always given me very satisfactory solutions to my car problems, even better than Bliss & Bothwell had given me over the years before they retired. When I have a small repair, I make an appointment and they attend to it promptly while I wait and their charges are most reasonable. When I contacted them about fixing my Engine Malfunction Indicator, which wasn't lighting and thus preventing the car from passing its Smog Test, Richard told me about the Consumer Assistance Program available through the Bureau of Automotive Repair-- even though I would have had to get the repair done elsewhere at a "Gold Shield" station. I followed his tip and saved almost $200. My car is elderly and they are very willing to discuss the relative cost benefits of various repairs or improvements and help me prioritize necessary maintenance expenses. They are always friendly and pleasant. I would recommend Morris Automotive to anyone as they seem to be able to handle a wide variety of cars, to judge from the ones I see there. read more

These guys are amazing, hard working, honest, and gentlemen! I say gentlemen because I am a woman, traveling by myself, and always have the concern of being taken advantage of. I came to Santa Monica fr AZ for one night only. On my way through the CA desert, my car flat out died. AAA found the closest mechanic to my Santa Monica hotel, and praise God, it was Morris Automotive. I explained to Bruce, manager, my need to be back in AZ by Thursday. Not knowing what was causing the complete electrical failure I expected the worst. By 3:30 the next day I got a call that my car was back up and running. These guys didn't have to focus on my car the way they did, I know that, but they persevered and got her back up & running insuring I'd be back in AZ on time. Thank you Bruce and the entire staff! The clutch on my Corolla finally gave up yesterday and had it towed to Morris. As I never had a problem with this car before and so I've never had to use a mechanic since moving to LA. As I sat on the side of the 405, and without an iphone, I had my dad in NY get online to pick a place off the ol' Google. Luckily he picked Morris Automotive. My family back in NY always used the same crew on all of our vehicles, so I know what a good and honest mechanic is when I come across one. I took my vehicle in to get the power steering gearbox replaced. It's an older 1999 Dodge van and I was glad they accepted it because it requires about a gallon of elbow grease to turn without the power steering, especially at slow LA traffic speeds. They had to keep it over the weekend and were able to quote me a price for parts and labor and then confirm with me that it would be okay to perform all the necessary work. you'll never find a more competent, nor more honest, mechanic. Dave Morris stays current by taking endless training courses and knows more about cars than megan fox knows about boys. been using him for 20 years and have sent everyone I know there without a single complaint. amazing - truly amazing - in this day and age of greedy businesses. efficient, more than fair (if not under-priced) fees, and extremely ethical about every aspect of his business practices. very humble guy - deserves utmost respect - he can work miracles - but he won't every tell you so. read more

Highly recommend!! Have Bruce, Rod, and their guys do all the work on my car as well as my fiance's. Very thorough, conscientious, high quality. Dial things in properly that other shops miss our are too lazy to get into. Quick service and always keep me updated regarding status. Great auto mechanics are really tough to find, but the folks at Morris are fantastic and both our rides purr. Excellent! Search no further. They treat my car as if it were their own. They're totally professional and wait there's more: They're a delight to deal with! Wait there's more: They do email. And I never feel nervous about their fees. Good prices, location, attitude, and I've met 15-yr customers. The mechanic with the most integrity ever: David Morris at Morris Automotive in Santa Monica. He opened his own shop because he was tired of getting pressured by all of his bosses to pad people's bills and charge for work that had never been done. He is honest and fair - treats women and men equally, and he really knows his stuff. this place charged me $160 for a diagnostic, I then took my car elsewhere to fix what was said to be not functioning correctly in the diagnostic. Come to find out there's more he didn't inform me of. & while yes, one could say the 2nd mechanic was lying, he actually showed me for my own knowledge what these other things leaking in the car that Morris automotive hadn't bothered to mention. I had such a great experience with Morris Automotive and truly can't recommend them enough. I brought my car in for a coolant leak, and they were incredibly quick to diagnose and fix the issue. I took my son's VW to another local shop and the owner showed me the printout of the maintenance codes from the car's computer. All-in, everything was going to cost about $2,500. My wife found European One, read the positive reviews, and suggested I bring the car there for a second opinion. Edwin (along with his brother and father) were super friendly and after reviewing the computer codes suggested I bring it to the dealer so they could update the software before assuming the codes were correct. By doing so, it turned out that the car didn't need ANY of the major repairs that the other shop was ready to do. Instead, Edwin gave me a great deal on general service which the car needed, and was happy to see me save the money. It's SO EASY for mechanics to rip you off and/or perform unnecessary service. I'll be bringing in our Volvo next and encourage everyone to support this family-owned shop. Thanks Edwin!

To make matters worse, when I got my car back, several parts that I had spent a lot of money on were missing. This was an extremely disappointing experience, and I cannot recommend this shop.
