Sold last year to a large corporation. Used to be a great shop especially for enthusiasts as the owner was a race car driver. It is now the worst type of establishment that preys on vulnerable consumers. Most people have no idea what to do about their tires and rely on someone to keep them safe and hopefully not use an emergency as an opportunistic sale. These guys are not only negligent but also flat out lie to consumers. They "aligned" my M3 track car and the steering wheel was not aligned properly. They had the nerve to try to charge me for the fix. With a different sports car of mine they tried to sell me four new tires when they absolutely had plenty of tread. I'm very knowledgeable about tread depth so thankfully I called them out on it. If this is how they treat a man with enthusiast cars, I can imagine how they would prey on my girlfriend or my daughters in an emergency situation. Absolutely disgusting business ethics. Check other reviews here and on Google and you'll find similar stories. Run, don't walk away from these clowns. Pacific Coast Tire up the street gets all my business and my referrals now. These guys are great! I stopped in without an appointment because I was pretty sure I had a slow leak in one of my tires, and hoped someone might have time to take a look. Not only did Juan and Jimmy check out all 4 tires right away, but they removed a nail in one and had it patched up and ready to go in under 30 minutes free of charge (the last tire place I went to took over 2 hours, then charged $50 to place a patch)! Been to Stokes several times over many years and always felt so good about their seeming honesty. But, in the past few months both my husband and myself had very questionable experiences. Each of us, separately, got sold a warranty we did not want when buying tires. We have never bought a warranty on anything in our lives. We did not want a warranty on the tires. We were each told that somehow we had agreed to it. First time I thought maybe I mistakenly had agreed. But 2nd time, when same thing happened to my husband, makes me cringe with red flags. One of my daughters was rear-ended on the 405 and we had to think of where to bring the car when AAA towed it and we brought it to Stokes and I'm so happy we did. We left it with a note in the parking lot and put the keys in the mail slot and early the next morning, they totally took care of us. They put on our little donut tire so that I could take the car home and plan which body shop to take it to. They also put it up on that rack and inspected the damage for me. They totally took care of us and they were so kind. In the end, they didn't even charge us and they turned a stressful day into a manageable one. read more

We always used to like this place - but last time we took our car in they recommended service that I realize now was probably unnecessary (new shocks).
