On 11/25 at 2 p.m., I was dispatched to winch out a vehicle that had crossed onto a company's…read moreproperty and become stuck in mud where a water line had recently been repaired. I finished my current call and arrived on-site at 3 p.m. The customer was waiting with the business owner. I greeted both of them and went over the situation. The customer was very humble and apologetic, fully taking responsibility for the mistake. The business owner then told me that when I winched the truck out, he didn't want any mud on his concrete. I explained that I would not be driving onto the grass/mud and would only be winching from the concrete, so I wouldn't be tracking any mud onto it. However, I also let him know that the customer's truck would likely drag mud onto the concrete when he drove away. At that point, the business owner told me that I would need to load the customer's truck onto my bed and tow it off the property so that no mud touched his concrete. I told him I was only authorized and paid to perform a winch-out, nothing more. He then told me that if I wasn't going to do what he said, I needed to leave his property. I replied that the only way I could remove the vehicle was by completing the winch-out from his side. He then approached me aggressively. I stood my ground while we exchanged words, and then I left that side of the property and attempted to access the truck from the other side. From there, I was unable to winch the customer's vehicle because it was sunk about half a rim deep in mud and pressed against the concrete foundation. Edmond PD arrived shortly after. As they pulled up, I received a call from my boss saying that the business owner had reported that I spit on him and physically assaulted him. I was shocked. I told my boss that not only did I not do that -- I would never do something that could jeopardize my family's security. Right after I hung up, the officer approached me and told me he had read the dispatch notes. He said the man reported to dispatch that I assaulted him and spit on him. However, when speaking to the officer in person, the man changed his story and claimed that spit "hit him" while I we exchanged words. I explained to the officer that this would not have happened had the man not walked directly into my face yelling at me. The business owner then told the officer, "I didn't know what to do. It was just little old me and this big Black man." If I were truly such a threat, he wouldn't have approached me so aggressively in the first place. The truth is that he became aggressive with me, and I simply stood my ground. He stepped into my personal space yelling, and when I didn't back down, he became angry. He then made a false police report claiming I assaulted him, clearly hoping I would be arrested. After that, he called my job, dragged my name through the mud, told my boss he wanted me sent to jail, and demanded I be fired. All I do is work hard and go home to my family. Today, I almost didn't make it home because I came in to work on my day off. This situation was stressful, unnecessary, and deeply unfair. My wife is 6 months pregnant and has preeclampsia. I had to spend most of my night monitoring her blood pressure and making sure we didn't need to go the ER......No one should be treated this way for simply trying to do their job....

So I felt good about entrusting my old truck to them. I explained to Brian the new MGR that I had already replaced the Complete tail lights with brand new LEDs. I had also replaced the Brake light switch 2 days earlier and it did not fix the problem. I told Brian that I had reached my mechanical limits and I didn't know what to do next. First thing Brian said was " its going to be $192 for us to diagnose it and what ever has to be done will be an additional charge. This caught me off guard a little bit. Most of the time they will ask more questions Like " when did you notice this or did something happen to cause this? You know warm up a bit before you start throwing big numbers at me without even asking any questions. I thought oh well he must just be having a hard day at 9:00am. So I reluctantly signed the paper that said "WE ARE NOT RESPONCIBLE FOR LOST OR STOLEN ITEMS FROM YOUR CAR OR ACCIDENTS". There are 5 large signs lined up for you to see when you walk in. These signs all say what they are not responsible for. Later that day Brian called me and said they figured out what was wrong. It needs a "brake light switch" and its going to cost $360. I asked him if he meant the same brake light switch I spent 5 minutes installing just 2 days earlier? He said well this switch does not look new to him. I said ok how many brake light switches are there on my truck. He said just one. I asked him if he puts another one in and it doesn't fix the problem will it still cost me $360? He said let me talk with the mechanic (turns out there is only one mechanic at Dons auto electric) So I didn't hear anything back until the next day. Brian calls me and said it turns out the brake light switch was new and that was not the problem. He says now I "Me" need to go to ORiellys and pick up a turn signal indicator. My turn signal indicator also controls my Cruise control as well as emergency flashers So this part was not cheap $115. My wife picked it up and delivered it to Brian because as you know my trucks on a lift at Dons auto electric. Brian told her it would be ready by 2:00pm that day. I called about 3:30pm I asked Brian how it was going? He said "we got everything working except the brake lights"...... The brake lights were the reason I brought it in. Nothing else was broken I didn't understand What he meant by "everything else". but I bit my tong and said ok. Brian said let me check the one and only mechanics progress and Ill call you right back. I didn't hear from him again until I called at 10:45am the next day. Brian said we got everything fixed and the mechanic is putting it back together I can pick it up in an hour. 3 hours later I called an Uber and went to pick up my truck. I got there and the truck was still being worked on. I asked Brian what's up? He said his mechanic is at lunch and would be back in an hour. This is 2:00pm now. Now I'm getting a little POed but still calling Brian sir and making small talk as I stand in the waiting room with no chairs, TV, radio, just a 5' by 6' tile floor to pace. Brian calls his mechanic and asks when he will be back the mechanic said I'm pulling up right now. The mechanic walks in with Brian's burger king lunch. then walks out and crawls under my truck. About 5 minutes later two guys walk in the shop and lay down on the floor (see pictures) and have a 45 minute conversation with the mechanic as he lays on his creeper and talks. One hour later I asked Brian What was going one with my truck. He said it turns out that who ever hooked up my trailer light plug "two years ago" messed up the wiring to the brake lights. I guess it slipped Brian's mind that just yesterday he told me it was my turn signal indicator (that cost me $115 from ORiellys. I might be getting a little more PO'ed about now but still being very polite calling him sir. About 45 minutes later Brian drops a clip board on the counter right next to the big sign that says debit card users will be charged 3.99% of the bill as a service fee. He looks at me and says that'll be $686. I pulled out my wallet nd slid My debit card to him. He says " Our credit card machine has been broke for months we only except cash. Now this might have been nice to know Before I took an Uber back to his shop. I told him I didn't have $700 on me and I came here in an Uber. Did he have any options for me? He said Ill have my new office girl run you to an ATM just go outside and wait for her to come out. As you know its July in Oklahoma and was 106 degrees. I walked out to wait some more. Finally walked back in to the standing room. He said she will be right out.
