Why does this arena change names every 2-4 years?!?! Anyways. I came here a few years ago when it was the Foot Print Center. Getting in the door had always been really easy here, I like how they've at least figured out how to stream line the security process. Lots of bars and food vendors to buy super expensive drinks and snacks from. Long lines for the restrooms. But the people working here were friendly. I came here to watch a comedy show featuring Nate Bargatze and it was hilarious. But the restroom situation sucked and even though paying $20 for a drink is the norm, I still don't like it. read more

The arena itself is well-designed, clean, and easy to navigate, with plenty of excellent food options that go beyond the typical stadium fare. Whether you're looking for classic concessions or something a little more elevated, there's a great variety to choose from. The one major downside was the beverage pricing. The drinks are extraordinarily overpriced--a simple whiskey and Coke cost $25, and it was served in what looked to be about a 6-ounce cup, making it difficult to justify the cost. While premium venue pricing is expected, this felt excessive even by arena standards. Aside from that, the overall experience was enjoyable. The arena is impressive, the atmosphere is lively, and the wide selection of food makes it a great place to spend an evening. If beverage prices were a bit more reasonable, it would easily be an exceptional experience. read more

If a genie gave me three wishes, I'd be so, desperately so, tempted to use one on improving the Merc's defense. Seeing it up close and personal definitely adds to the heartbreak. Games are still fun though - the energy of the fans is always loud and exciting. I especially like going on the days where they give out free stuff (I got a crossbody bag recently). The themed nights also do an excellent job of honoring a variety of identities, cultures, and interests. Go Merc! read more

04/17/2026 Took my mom to watch the Phoenix Suns in the playoffs play-in tournament. She had not been there since before the arena was remodeled. Every time I've gone there, getting through security was pretty quick, and the arena was clean. We were very early, so we grabbed food on the second floor in the food court. We both got the Courtside Classic pizza from Spinato's, as well as canned Dasani water. I'm glad the venue added a more affordable option for drinking water. The pizza was hot and fresh. The Team Shop had a lot of shirts on sale, and we bought a couple. It was fan appreciation night as well, so each seat had a free XL purple Suns T-shirt. The halftime show was an exciting duo that performed some dangerous moves! We left the game with about 5 minutes left on the shot clock to beat traffic (lesson learned from the last time I left at the end of the game and got stuck in the parking garage for a long time). On our walk out, one of the crew handed me a free T-shirt! It was one of the shirts they throw or shoot out of the cannon. We had a lot of fun, and I'm so glad my mom had a great experience here. read more

PHX Arena is truly such an amazing experience. First off, the workers are so kind and attentive. It was hard to navigate the entrance I needed to enter through, but everyone was nice and patient when asking for help and directions. The arena is by far the most clean I've ever seen. It's so lively and the entertainment is always great. The lighting is perfect and the monitors and screens are visible and clear. The sound and announcements were a bit low, but maybe that varies depending on the location of your seats. The food was tremendous. My party had access to the Annexus Social Club, which if you are able to, it's worth the hype. Just hope to get invited into the RaRa Room one time! My party ubered but from previous experiences, onsite garages and surrounding garage/area parking is available, easy and convenient. Overall, a 10/10 experience and I can't wait to go attend more events and games here in the future! read more

I've come here for years and have been through the past 2-3 name changes so that is considered my experience with this venue. I've seen many concerts and basketball games here and have continued to be impressed with the seamless process of getting in and out of the arena. There's plenty of staff around every corner so you'll never get lost. Even when you get inside the arena, there's also staff there to guide you to your seats. They're also organized and clean-whether it's the bathroom, food court, or seating. The nosebleed seats are the only minimal issue as it feels very compact and is not quite accessible for everybody. Overall, Mortgage Matchup Center is my favorite venue for concerts because the sound is so nice regardless of where you sit which is hard to experience at other concert venues. I've been to this venue twice now. The first time was for a Mercury game when it was still called PHX Arena. It was so fun and seemed like there wasn't a bad seat. That was proven right a few months later when I went to see the Billie Eilish show. We got nosebleed seats and I was pleasantly surprised how great the view was from there! The seating, the sound, the stage were all great. Like most venues, the food and drinks are overpriced. There aren't a lot of vegetarian/vegan options either. I think the options near our seats were some not-so-great soft pretzels and nachos. I took a rideshare for both events because I didn't want to deal with traffic or expensive parking. There are however, a decent amount of parking garages nearby. read more

Mortgage Matchup Arena runs a tight operation. Crowd control was solid, entry was smooth, and there were no bottlenecks or chaos getting inside, which already puts it ahead of the curve. Even from the higher, nosebleed sections, the sightlines were excellent. No bad seats here. You can still see the action clearly and feel plugged into the game. Now for the reality check. A double margarita ran me $49. Forty. Nine. Dollars. That's not a splurge, that's price gouging with confidence. I'm docking one star solely for that, because at those prices the drink should come with a souvenir cup, a backstory, and a personal thank-you from management. Overall, it's a well-run arena and a great place to catch a game. Just eat beforehand and hydrate responsibly unless you're prepared to refinance your seat. read more

Was invited to watch the Suns-Warriors last In-Game NBA Matchup since I was in town and since the Golden State Warriors won the match over the LA Clippers 2 days prior. A relative is a Season-Ticket holder so I was invited to watch what would be my 2nd NBA game ever watched, LOL! Since I'm a Warriors fan, it was a dream come true. Plus a friend flew in from Hawaii just to see the match so we were both in Heaven!! I was so giddy when we arrived and in anticipation of the game. We had Valet parking and went thru a door and downstairs to the upscale & bougie Annexus Social Club. Big screens all over, free drinks and a nice buffet ranging from Sushi, Oysters, Prawns, Lobster, Crab Claws, Pastas, Charcuterie Boards, Desserts, Fruit/Salads, Popcorn & Snack area w/Canned drinks to bring to the arena. I was too excited to eat but did order some Rum & Cokes that I was able to bring to the floor. I was told to leave at the 2-minute mark before the half and before the game was over so we could hit the bathroom, bar, for more food and to get a table if not at the bar. At gametime, I found my seats and was on the 2nd row on the Warriors side(YAY!!!) below the basket! Dream come true and found myself just amazed, watching the team just feet away, saw myself on the Jumbotron and later on my friends and relatives said they saw me on TV during a closeup with the ref & Suns' player, LOL!! Seats were ample and we got free Suns t-shirts which were laid out on our seat-backs. Ambiance, food, experience even the bathrooms were well-kept. Growing up in the Phoenix area, I have gone to Mortgage Matchup Center on many occasions over the years to watch sporting events, concerts, and special events. I have fond memories of these events and the layout of the Mortgage Matchup Center. I've been in the lower level and in the nosebleed section. The staff who manage the Mortgage Matchup Center have a well-oiled complex which continues to evolve every year. Located in the heart of downtown Phoenix, Mortgage Matchup Center is one of the premier entertainment venues in the Southwest. This multi-purpose arena has hosted countless memorable moments since opening its doors in 1992, from championship basketball games to world-class concerts. The arena's central location makes it easily accessible for both locals and visitors. With over 17,000 seats, this location serves as a huge part of Phoenix's entertainment scene. From its distinctive purple lighting during sporting events to its impressive acoustics for concerts, every detail enhances your experience. Speaking of evolving, for 23 years I remember it only being the America West Arena and the US Airways Center after the airline merger. Since then, there are new names every 1-5 years from the Talking Stick Resort Arena to Phoenix Suns Arena to PHX Arena to Footprint Center before arriving to the current name. My favorite events over the years have been going to Phoenix Suns games, the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament when we hosted the Sweet 16 and Elite 8, and the George Strait concert which had Taylor Swift as an opener. All of these were great events that were well hosted over the years. Nearby are plenty of hotels, restaurants, and even the Arizona State University Downtown Phoenix Campus. Within the complex, there is accessible seating throughout, multiple elevators, family restrooms, and first aid stations. The cashless environment streamlines transactions, with reverse ATMs available if you need to convert cash to a prepaid card. There are also plenty of food, beverage, premium bars, and lounges within the Mortgage Matchup Center. I only wish I could have been there for the Mercury's WNBA championships won there or the two NBA All Star Games (with the next one scheduled in 2027). I'd certainly recommend that anyone visit the "Purple Palace" for an energized experience! read more

THIS PLACE is a PARTY! The entrance is so frenetic and electric I felt like I was entering a pocket city. There's massive screens, a huge bar, and team store as you enter the arena. I went with family for a Suns game and it was an immediate feast for the senses. The lighting, aesthetic, and colors were very hip and trendy. I love an arena that isn't overly bright, the soft lighting was perfect, I got a lounge vibe (in a good way)in some sections of the property. Parts of the concourse level (near the concessions) felt a little too industrial but I still enjoyed the atmosphere. Elevators were narrow and easy to find, however I didn't get a cramped or crowded feeling like some other NBA arenas. Traffic flow was steady as Mortgage Matchup is pretty spacious. Concessions were solid, they had grab-n-go items, a grill, and variety of other arena staples. Most food items are found downstairs, I didn't see much to work with upstairs. The VIP/Suites seemed well-stocked and the food looked yummy. I'd recommend buying a alcoholic beverage at the big bar near the main entrance, they seemed to have the most options. Honestly, it's another excuse to be near the incredible entrance hub (you can tell it was my favorite spot). Seats were surprisingly comfortable, I had a edge seat in the highest nose bleed you can find. I managed to find cheap tickets and a seat straight up the stairs. I had plenty of leg room since I didn't have a seat totally in front of me. My parents seemed to enjoy their seats too. We were able to enjoy our Suns game without obstructions or drunks, there was a family-friendly vibe. My only complaint would be the audio quality of the speakers inside the main auditorium. I couldn't hear the calls given by the officials/refs at all. Additionally, some of the music sounded a little low. I enjoyed the Jumbotron, it was large and I could see most of the stats/game notes. Note: Mortgage Matchup is near plenty of eateries (CityScape, Italian, etc.) and is in the heart of Downtown Phoenix. There's a watch bar nearby too! read more

Last year I saw Def Leppard, Journey and the Steve Miller Band at the PHX arena. Last night I was lucky enough to see Stevie Nicks. As of three days ago, this arena was renamed the Morgage Matchup Center which has close ties with Phoenix Sun's basketball team owner Mat Ishbia. Both of the concerts were great but the "suite" experience took it to the next level sweet! Endless dinner buffet, desserts, bottomless soda, wine, beer and popcorn with all the seasoning shaker toppings. Last nights spread was impressive: loaded mixed green salads with fresh dressing, Asian cold noodle salads, hot sliced meat with rolls, deluxe Mac and cheese, ingredients to build your own tacos, teriyaki seared pork belly and shrimp and a chef slicing tri trip roast offering prickly pear glaze and or sprinkled with fresh black pepper or course salt. For dessert there were fresh cookies, individual mango cheesecake cups, chocolate mint cupcakes and four kinds of dessert bars. Lemon, layered nut and oatmeal among them. I was stuffed by dessert time but had to taste the cupcake which was fresh, minty and satisfying! Parking was a breeze with private security check-in, and the clean, no-wait restrooms nearby were a definite plus. It was an evening of VIP treatment! It will be a delight for me to have a "suite" opportunity again in the future! read more

Stevie Nicks from the iconic musical group Fleetwood Mac put on an amazing solo performance in Phoenix, Arizona. Her vocal skills, stage presence and ability to connect with the crowd was amazing and a true testament to her longevity and why she is loved by so many. Playing to a packed house she sang many of her familiar songs we've grown accustomed to hearing, such as; Stand Back and Dreams. With a legendary voice and a music catalog which, spans over several decades she memorized concertgoers taking us back to when we first heard the songs. Without question, she is and has been one of my favorite artists whose music I thoroughly enjoy listening to. It was a great concert and one I will remember for years to come. Stevie Nicks upcoming concert in Las Vegas is slated for Saturday, October 11th, at T-Mobile Arena. Should you have the opportunity to see her, I highly recommend you do. read more

I've been to this venue a few times and prior the name of it was PHX arena. I blink and it is now this hideous of a name for a venue, but ok whatever. We in the US will sell our soul to capitalism. With that negativity out of the way, let me tell you about the positives. This is a pretty good venue as the sound here is pretty clean, and feels most of the seats in the arena gives you a good view of whatever it is you have come to watch. Lighting and effects have been very good here. I never felt they were off and I am quite sensitive to light. I've seen an electrifying WBNA game here and had a great time. I was also here to see Duran Duran, a UK band from the 80s that really left an impression on my formative years. I just love their style of music, part melancholic, part synth pop, and all very cool. It was truly a trip down memory lane and I enjoyed the concert immensely. Nice large screens too so we could get close up the musicians too. Venue is well signed, lots of vendors here, completely overpriced food and drinks but it is what it is, like $25 for a draft beer? Bathroom lines move quickly and are clean. The big problem with this venue is the parking situation. It is definitely extortion if you want to park anywhere closeby, I refuse. I park about a 20 min walk away and get my steps in too. Overall, a nice venue and would come back again. Id just wish parking, food and drinks didnt cost you uour first born. read more

Different name. Same venue. What used to be PHX Arena, and was previously the Footprint Center, is now the Mortgage Matchup Center. It's the home of the Phoenix Suns and also various events like concerts and comedy shows. There are some things I like about this venue and some things I don't. Here's what I like: I've been to a good number of basketball venues in my day and this is a nice one. In terms of design. And also in terms of the food options. Arena/stadium food is always overpriced and often mediocre. Here, you have some good options. There's a burger joint called Gorilla Burgers I believe which far exceeded my expectations. Getting in and out of the venue is pretty seamless. All good things. On the flip side, it's located downtown so parking is a drag. You can pay too much for parking in a parking garage where you'll be paying event prices. You can look for parking on the street but most metered parking in downtown Phoenix charges until 10 p.m. (including weekends) which is pretty wild. Some areas are two hours only which isn't long enough for a sporting event or a concert. If you're able to swing free parking, it's probably going to be quite a ways away on foot. For concerts, they don't release set times. The vast majority of venues will reveal set times with you if you inquire. Not here for some reason, which is annoying. While there are definite pros and cons, the Mortgage Matchup Center brings in some big acts. I've seen quite a few shows here, in addition to a Suns game. Make sure you don't put PHX Arena into Google Maps! It'll take you to an address downtown which is somewhere else. Old habits die hard, Mortgage Matchup Center it is. read more

We came this time to see Stevie Nicks! She told a story about how the opening act was instrumental in her recovery when she broke her shoulder because she listened to them every day and let me tell you, it must be true what they say about how a lot of sleep aids in recovery because I could barely stay awake! But Stevie? Wow, better and better. She has not lost a step. She sang some of her old songs and some new stuff and, I'm guessing in tribute to him, a Tom Petty song that they did together and one that was just his and she KILLED it. The guy she had doing Tom Petty's part for sure wasn't Petty but that dude rocked it! They sounded great! This was another chance to be in the suite because my company sponsors the Suns so I get to attend a lot of events here and I am so thankful for all the opportunities I have to be here. They always have a big buffet going and the food is very eclectic and there's always something for everyone! I love these shows and I love this place and as a lifetime long Suns fan, I'm so happy we get to see them throughout the year! read more

I had a very disappointing experience at the A$AP Rocky concert. My group and I arrived early that morning to receive GA wristbands and were instructed to return at 7:00 PM. When we arrived back at 6:35 PM, we were told we were "too late" and that our wristbands would not be honored, despite being second in line for GA earlier that day. We were then directed to wait in the regular entry line. Once the doors opened, we spoke with a security guard who informed us that we did not need any additional wristbands to access the GA floor. However, after making our way to the floor, we were stopped and told that we did not have the correct wristbands and that someone should have prevented us from entering in the first place. The lack of communication and consistency among staff was extremely frustrating. We received conflicting information from multiple employees, and the confusion ultimately ruined a significant part of our concert experience. Better communication and organization are clearly needed to prevent other guests from experiencing the same issues. read more

Renamed the Phoenix Arena, but still worth it's weight in gold for concerts, imo. Recently saw a show here; from the "nosebleed" to the "mid" sections sight a sound weren't an issue. The Karen next to me gave those behind her a hard time standing up in front of them for half the show, but besides that, good times! read more

I was in Phoenix in late March and was able to enjoy a Celtics/Suns game on a Wednesday evening. I arrived downtown about two hours prior to tipoff. I was able to find a place to eat and have a drink about five minutes away. Game was a sellout and security was fairly efficient entering the arena. I felt upon entering the fan experience was paramount. The arena is over 30 years old but it is evident there have been a lot of renovations to make the arena current. My seats were in section 116 which were fantastic. I'm quite tall and had ample space. After the game we were able to secure an Uber with a 15-20 minute wait. Uber back to Scottsdale was between 25-30 bucks which is comparable to the trip down. I've been to multiple arenas and this was easily one of my favorites. Concession prices were a little high but outside of that I thoroughly enjoy my visit. read more

Enough with the name changes. This is known as the arena that the Phoenix Suns play basketball in which is located in downtown Phoenix. I am hesitant to name the arena as it has gone through multiple name changes in the last 5 years. The last time I was here was when I saw a Trevor Noah concert when it was known as Talking Stick Resort Arena. Since then, it has been renamed three times. First as Phoenix Suns Arena, then as Footprint Center and lastly the name has changed this year to the current name, PHX Arena, which is an interim name and will change again to something more official. My experience at this arena watching a concert was comparable to those that I saw at Key Arena in Seattle (now known as Climate Pledge Arena) in which the seats are okay, albeit on the tight side for legroom. Cheap seats do have a view of the stage, but you can barely see the performer. I found myself looking at the video screen more often as a result, which kind of defeats the purpose of a live show as it is like watching your phone or TV. I do like that this arena is convenient to public transportation as I was able to catch a Valley Light Rail train after the show, which seems to end early enough to catch a late train. read more

Great venue. First time there and my family and I loved it. The arena isn't too big so even the seats on the 2nd level have a great view for a more affordable price. They do a good job of keeping the fans entertained as well as have a decent spread of restaurants and even have a small food court that are open during the games. The show was great. Our seats were between the screens so we missed out on that. The seats were very small and uncomfortable. The cup holder was on both sides so you were sitting on them- made them useless. There were a good amount of concession stands but needed more bathrooms. Water was over 9 dollars... at least it was convenient to grab and go. The machines to scan tickets took a while so they had to start the show about 30 minutes late. If we go there again we're probably going to get there early and spring for a suite. read more

A lot of mixed emotions about this venue, but overall a positive experience! I came here to see Troye Sivan and Charli XCX during the SWEAT TOUR, and I was not disappointed. Sound quality was decent and my nosebleeds (Section 216) still had a solid view of the stage. There's A LOT of staff here, so it easy to ask for directions if you need to find your seat. However, they weren't great about the vomit that was sitting on the stairs next to our section... Never got cleaned up throughout the entire show unfortunately... The seats are pretty comfortable but they aren't that big which is unfortunate because if you're a plus size individual, and I saw many, it couldn't have been comfortable and you're spilling out of the seat and onto/into people sitting next to you. I understand why the rows are narrow, they want to get as many people in as possible but it does make it challenging when people are constantly getting up and leaving from the middle or coming in. Lots of toe stepping. Acoustics are bananas in here. It's loud to a point during a basketball game that it feels uncomfortable. Overall, not terrible but definite room for improvement. read more
