When I shopped for mortgage loans for the first time, I didn't know where to begin. So, naturally, I asked my friends, family, and searched the internet for referrals. Through this search, my friends and family recommended: BBVA, Wells Fargo, Chase, and Zeus Mortgage. I stumbled upon Mortgages Direct via BBB's A+ Rating. I called each one of these companies for quotes and information on mortgages and a lot of them were really good at providing good service with good quotes, but there was one person who just took service, product pricing, and professionalism to a level higher than the others. That person was Brian Crawford. Brian works very hard for you because he wants to earn your business. He goes FAR beyond any other business to make sure you are satisfied. He's been a man of his word and really follows through on what he says. He will also take the time to educate you on all the ins-n-outs of the loan so that you understand every thing that is being charged to you, etc. He answers his calls and returns them promptly if he doesn't get it the first time. He's really what you expect out of a mortgage lender, but MORE! I definitely would use Brian Crawford and Mortgages Direct again because of the exemplary service provided and the very competitive pricing on the loans. My only fear is that reviews like this one will drive more business to him and I won't be able to get a hold of him when I want to refinance or something in the future... But, he's one of those good guys that I'll vouch for and really deserve the business for all the good work he does. I've used Brian twice in the past 1.5 years. His rates are competitive. I shopped around on my first mortgage, and it was essentially the same or better than other quotes. He's also very knowledge and explains the whole mortgage process in simple terms, which was appreciated when I was buying my first house. But more important than price and knowledge is customer service. And let me tell you, Brian gets it done. Done on time and done well. I would bet that most if not all of these reviews are fake. I reached out to this company and over the course of 3 weeks had only 1 interaction with the owner William Taylor. I've called at least 20 different mortgage brokers and during this same window and I was able to secure the quotes and details needed within a few days. So the overwhelmed busy argument doesn't seem to be an excuse with the other companies I called. I'm not sure what the deal is here. But total waste of time trying to contact them. I did not use mortgages direct to close on my first time home purchase but worked very closely with Brian Crawford at mortgages direct until I made the mistake of choosing another lender, a big bank. The big bank was horrible in their customer service, communications, and timeliness, whereas Brian really was stellar in each of these in my numerous conversations with him. I shopped around quite a bit and went with the big bank on account of their promotional offer but experienced so many setbacks that I wish i'd gone with Brian instead. As long as the rate they offer you is competitive, go with a good service provider. I underestimated the importance of good service and should've considered lenders like MD that would've closed us on time most likely and would've saved us lots of headaches. In talking to numerous coworkers that have closed on homes recently, they all recommended staying away from big banks due to their poor service, and I wish I'd done that. Did I mention i wish I hadn't chosen the big bank? :) After reaching out to numerous lenders and brokers both locally and nationally and hearing back from them, no one in the mortgage business will be as responsive and patient with you as Brian, I'm convinced. He is a good person to work with, great attitude, honest, and full of integrity.
