Given the sizable scale of the project as well our lack of knowledge we were wholly dependent on Ketan's as well as the builder's (Watermark Builders Gary Lee) guidance, expertise, patience as well as significant knowledge and willingness to do the right thing even if it meant higher cost for them which we really appreciated. Ketan was very patient with the initial design process which is a very iterative process and one has to see a lot and he had to go to the drawing board multiple times before we got to what we wanted. He is by nature very pleasant and diligent and is willing to go the extra mile to ensure his customers are satisfied. Once the house started building Ketan worked with us on the interior selections and helped us through the process.. Overall we would recommend Ketan with my eyes closed to anybody wanting to design and build their own home.

Therefore, we had to hire two other architecture firms to come up with a concept that is in line with our needs. Unfortunately, we noticed that he used our concept partially for another project at the same neighborhood without our consent.So, we sent him a polite email asking him for an answer. However, he ignored our request. When we reached out to him after 2 weeks, he indicated that he did not see a reason why he needs to reply. It was a disappointing not to get a courtesy reply to our email as well as hearing him arrogantly saying that he is right and everyone else is wrong by suggesting he has used key part of our concept in another design without our consent. Long story short, my experience was not a good one with Ketan. The latest issue about using of my concept design made me to write this review by saying that I do not recommend him for any custom build project.

I can't speak on the rest of the team because we only dealt with Mark and his assistant. I actually waited a few weeks to post this review so it wouldn't be typed out of anger. He never ran my credit to consider my debt before allowing us do a purchase agreement on for a new build even though we're in a community property state - I had to find that info out on my own. We sent emails after emails / calls after calls once we realized this and he would completely ignore us along with his assistant who I won't name. They wouldn't answer calls from our realtor or respond to our emails - IF they did it was days later they emailed back. There were literally WEEKS before we would hear from him that we can actually post proof of. We did our research and read reviews so we were dumbfounded by the treatment and the situation. What was it about us that caused such carelessness? Why us? We called it a lost and cancelled the purchase agreement losing $2000 on our first ever home buying experience. While we forgive him and have grown stronger from the experience, it's one we will NEVER forget. We now qualify for a home after all the hard honest work and guidance put in by another lender.
