I was referred to Mory by my sons middle school teacher (who was a student of Morys). I first went to Mory for a simple saxophone inspection. (I've been back several times since). From the very first moment I met him when he opened the door I immediately felt how amazing he is. There's just something about him thats impossible to describe, but you just know he's has a genuinely good soul. Mory is friendly, welcoming, patient, detail oriented and extremely knowledgeable. Mory's repair skills are unmatched, he is a literal instrument wizard. On top of that his pricing is very reasonable. I dropped off a cheap old beaten up Tenor Sax body at Mory's, to be straightened out as much as possible, The results were much better than I anticipated. The professionalism of not only his work, but customer service is top notch, and I highly recommend him. We met Mory when we bought a used Trumphet a couple years ago. He fixed what needed fixing and polished it up (took out a couple of dents too). It looked brand new! Mory has since removed a jammed mouth piece a couple of times. Great customer service! Thank you Mory! read more

I found this store thru yelp as I was looking for a place that repairs flutes. I decided to give this place a try since it got good reviews and was local. I'm glad I did. Mory knew what was wrong with my daughter's flute and was able to fix it for me. His prices are also reasonable as well. If I need to get further repairs on my daughter's music instrument, I will definitely be coming back here. I highly recommend this place. read more

I took my selmer series 9 clarinet here to be serviced - mostly for new cork. I knew something wasn't quite right with the upper register, and Mory quickly diagnosed the air leaks (and demonstrated!) He was able to repair my clarinet in one day, and charged a reasonable amount. I'll be a loyal customer going forward! read more

3 years ago needed the cork on my soprano replaced... found Mory at Sam Ash... Liked his work and gave him my '58 Selmer Mark VI Alto to overhaul...I'm a Pro player and have had the best repairmen in Los Angeles work on my saxes... and I'll put Mory right up there with them. Well... I'm going to bring my '65 Selmer Mark VI Tenor to have Mory do his thing on it... right now it's in a closet... and needs some TLC. He's a SUPER repairman who knows what he's doing... and I know I'll be more than pleased when he does my Tenor. read more

Mory did an amazing job on my Miraphone tuba... the valves needed fixing, he found the right parts and he even ordered me extras. He removed many dents from my bell and lubed up all of my slides. My horn is in way better condition than it has ever been! I highly reccomend this place. His prices are beyond reasonable and he's a super nice guy! read more

Mory is made of some kind of magic! His prices are reasonable and his love for all the instruments he works on is evident in his craftsmanship. I don't think you can find another repair man that loves what he does as much as Mory. My son was presented with a family heirloom that needed a complete restoration. It's my grandmother's silver saxophone built in 1928. I brought it in to him in December and less than two weeks later my son was teaching himself how to play it. Just in time to play a Christmas song for my dad who also played this instrument as a kid. We recorded the song and sent it to my grandma who was super pleased to see him play it. None of this could have happened without Mory. Many thanks to you Mory. 4 generations of my family are very grateful for what you do. read more

Mory Music Shop was highly recommended by the place we bought our Trombone. Mory was able to take us in immediately and fix the broken spit valve while we waited. He took extra care to put the instrument in prime shape. He also took extra care to not only fix the problem, but make slight modifications to ensure that the repair will last. I thought his workmanship and price were excellent. Given that both my boys are in band playing wind instruments, this is going to be a valuable resource for me! I recently purchased a trumpet off of ShopGoodwill.com. It arrived a few hours ago and I realized that the piston valves and slides were stuck and not moving at all. I panicked. First thing I did was Yelp a trumpet repair shop in Woodland Hills and up popped Mory's Music Shop in Canoga Park...minutes away. I called first, and Mory was super nice and said to drop by anytime. I did...20 minutes later. And Mory was there. With a smile. I explained that it was my first instrument ever and that I bought it blind online. He didn't laugh or judge me...he explained how it worked and why it wasn't working. He fixed it in less than 10 minutes. It was amazing to watch this man at work. This guy is a pro. 40 years in the business clearly shows. He's a passionate guy who loves what he does. The repair cost was much less than I had anticipated. I've been a professional musician for over 30 years, and having dealt with my fair share of techs and repair people, I have to say that Mory is such a breath of fresh air! I don't hesitate to recommend him. Aside from being highly skilled and caring about the instruments I've brought to him for repair (bass clarinet, clarinet, and bassoon) he's just the nicest guy! Great find! At our local music store it would have taken weeks to get our instrument repaired. Mory fixed it in a timely manner, was reasonably priced, and the instrument is even better looking than when we brought it in! I love Mory's! Bought a vintage King double French Horn online. Found Mory's online. He sounded experienced and was patient with my questions. Took it over and was so very pleased I did. I had done some research before taking it over there and I couldn't be happier. He gave it a complete cleaning- minor dents, some soldering, restringing. He gave me a reasonable price and it was ready the next day. It looks and sounds great! Happy to have found a great place to take my children's instruments. read more

I rented a saxophone here for my son. We got a beat up old thing which I wasn't too happy about but…read moresince my son was just beginning, I thought it would be ok. Well after a few months things started just falling off the instrument and my son couldn't hit some of the notes because it was in such bad condition. Then a piece kept falling off so we finally took it in for repair. The owner, Jeff (I believe) took one look and started accusing my son of denting it and not taking care of it. He exclaimed that the instrument was like new and my son created all these new dents! I honestly couldn't believe how he was accusing my son, all arrogant and condescending. Telling my son how irresponsible he was! How would he know, Jeff wasn't the person that rented us the beat up old instrument in the first place. He never inspected it, and this instrument was a piece of crap when rented to us! Because I had the insurance, I paid the $50 deductible for the repair and they gave us another instrument. One that was in better condition (but not great). But my son still had trouble with it and he still couldn't hit some of the low notes. My son started to get discouraged and thought about switching instruments (to trumpet) because he thought he was a terrible saxophone player. My son told me all the other students had really nice saxophones rented from Nick Rails. So we decided to switch. When we turned in the crappy saxophone, Jeff then accused my son of denting this saxophone! The dent was there previously but Jeff refused to acknowledge that and insisted (quite rudely) that my son dented it. Then he exclaimed the sax was corroded! It was NOT. Can you believe this guy? He took my deposit for this and I was so sick of dealing with this rude, arrogant guy over the past several months I didn't bother arguing anymore. I'm so glad we took our business elsewhere. Nick Rails in Agoura Hills rents superior good quality instruments. My son is so happy with his new sax from Nick Rails. He can hit all the low notes, no problems at all. The issue wasn't my son's skills, it was those crappy instruments from West Valley Music Center!

When I had a question they said it was a flute teacher question and gave me wrong information. The cost was affordable, but you pay for what you get.

I am a professional brass player and recently my bass trumpet was bumped off its stand and sustained serious damage. I took it to Mory and after talking about what needed to be done I felt comfortable that he would do a good job for me. I left the horn expecting to pick it up in a few days. I am extremely impressed with Mory's craftsmanship. He determined what was wrong with my Selmer Mark VII tenor saxophone and made necessary repairs which included key adjustments and pad replacements to correct air leaks. He even removed small dents in the body and the bell. All this work was done at a super reasonable price. I can't believe how much better it plays and sounds. I can't wait to play it at my next gig.
