She sounds and looks scary, which makes most people tense up and that makes the situation worse. This usually happens even at vets offices. But for the first time in her long life she was made to feel comfortable at a vet office! Both the vet tech (so sorry I don't remember her name - she was WONDERFUL) and Dr. Lynn were so good with her. The got down on here level, approached from the side (something we will advise others to try going forward) and were patient and gave her treats. After just a little bit of working with and on her, my nervous dog happily left the exam room WITH Dr. Lynn without even looking back at us. I've NEVER seen her do that ... even with people she knows. Now for the important stuff. Her stomach is better. They did testing, but before getting all of the results gave me some things and suggestions to help her at home. And it all worked wonderfully. She's gaining weight again. Her stomach is good. She sleeps through the night again. AND as an added bonus, after months of trying everything under the sun they also gave me a solution to the fleas that actually worked! Which is a huge relief for us and the dog. Love this place. Prices weren't the cheapest but very reasonable for all they did.

Dr. Quatmann was highly recommend to me by *three* different friends, so I was curious to see if a holistic vet could help me. I'll be honest- I didn't know what to expect. I saw Chinese medicine and acupressure on the website and wondered if I was gonna be taken for a ride. But my experience with Dr. Quatmann was hands-down the best vet experience I've had, with any animal, in 41 years. She started by sitting on the floor on the opposite side of the room from my stressed-out pup, talking to me about her symptoms and taking notes, letting my dog go at her own pace. When she conducted a physical exam, she had me hand my dog over, back end first, so that it didn't look like she was looming (brilliant!) and although my pup was nervous at first, she eventually relaxed into Dr. Quatmann's capable hands. At every step of the way, Dr. Quatmann told me what she was doing and why. She told me what she liked and didn't like about Chinese medicine and Western medicine approaches, and was approachable, intelligent, and kind despite me struggling to keep up. Toward the end, she let my dog "shop" by picking up whatever supplements she felt drawn to (all at 'sniff level'). My dog really got into it! I've never seen her engaged in her environment like that, and it was delightful. In the end, we went with one supplement (wanting to address each symptom individually), which my dog loves taking (truly...she thinks it's a treat). I've already seen improvement! Overall, this was a great experience and I highly recommend this vet practice (though be careful with the parking lot, which is a bit tight).

Wally got sick over the weekend and had to see the emergency vet in Roanoke on Saturday. He seemed to have a UTI for which he was given an antibiotic. Today, Monday, he became extremely sick with both vomiting and diarrhea. When I called his vet they refused see him or even give me advice. They told me to call the emergency vet back. His doctor's refused him when he was extremely sick. If it'd been anything non emergency I would certainly have understood. We will never go back.

From the moment we arrived, the staff at Emergency Veterinary & Specialty Services of Roanoke treated us with an incredible amount of compassion, kindness, and respect. They understood that this was not just a pet we were losing. Roxy was family. They gave us a private, comfortable room where we could spend our final moments together with her without feeling rushed or pressured. Every member of the team was patient, gentle, and genuinely caring. They explained everything clearly, gave us all the time we needed, and made an unbearable situation as peaceful as it could possibly be. Nothing can make losing a beloved fur baby easy, especially after so many years of love and memories together. But this team helped carry some of that burden on the worst day imaginable. The compassion they showed our family and the dignity they showed Roxy will never be forgotten. It has taken me a couple of months to write this review because the pain of losing her is still very real. However, this hospital deserves recognition for the incredible care they provide, not only to their patients but also to the families who love them. I should've known during the…read moreinitial phone call when I scheduled the appt for my puppy that I should go elsewhere, but alas, I kept the appt. The day of the appt I walked in and was greeted with a stagnant, "who do we have?" as a response to my "good morning! How are you?" Any questions I had were responded to with irritation and I was told to "just wait over there, they'll get you when they're ready." The vet tech I had interaction with was amazing, friendly, knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. The vet wasn't the most personable person, but he wasn't rude either. He did answer my questions, but I feel like he barely looked at my puppy, and then we were charged $160 for a visit. My husband took our puppy back yesterday to get a shot - he was also given meds for diarrhea (which we had brought in a stool sample that was CLEARLY not diarrhea) - confused he asked the front desk why he was prescribed that med if the stool sample wasn't loose - the person at the front says "oh. you can refuse it if you want..." He refused and the bill dropped $55. Needless to say, we will not be back and we will be finding another vet. It's a shame because it is close to home. But I am sure we will find better elsewhere.

But Brambleton Vet said "we can squeeze him in today!" THANK YOU! When we arrived the reception area was clear, clean and the vet tech was understanding when my Dane was super nervous. She walked us to a room and was totaled patient with my dog. I was so worried that he would be stressed out even more when the Doctor came, but Dr. Sisk was so patient and great at handling my nervous fur baby. I am happy to report that my dog is on the mend and they were so accommodating in every way. We moved to the area about a year ago and honestly, I had put my dog's vaccinations on pause because every time I had called a vet in the area, they were 2-3 weeks out at best. Once I had called for an emergency because my dogs tongue had split and this other vet (and 3 others) STILL said they couldn't get him in for another 3 weeks! If you are new to the area give them a try! Tell them Sole (so-lay) the Great Dane sent you!
