Having lived out of the area for several years it was a pain trying to find a good butcher shop and relying on big box stores for meat. Now that I'm back in the area it's nice to have Mosiers as a go to. We bought roasts there for the holidays, buy all of our steaks and chops there. Everything is great. only place I buy my meat, but like today with the New York strips, they were horrible, I was so embarrassed while having friends over, the meat was so tuff and I had to excuse myself from the table to spit it out! very disappointing! and I felt so bad for my guest that couldn't eat it either! luckily I had some hamburgers I threw on the grill but it was after the fact when every thing else was done! read more

Mosier's Market is definitely a hidden gem. Living in Delaware I get the town saver every month, Mosier's always has a full page ad about specials and deals. What drew me to Mosier's was the price for boneless skinless chicken breast at $1.59 a lb, which is a steal. I was very impressed with the meat selection here, the website states over 100 years of meat cutting experience. Deli salads (Ham, Macaroni, etc) are made on site and while I didn't buy any they were very tempting. I was treated like family here at Mosier's and I really appreciate that, the market is a smaller IGA with locally made pies and Smith's dairy products. I will be shopping for my chicken and other items now at Mosier's. Make a trip out to Raymond and visit Mosier's you won't be disappointed! read more

I went to this place to buy meat and they overcharged me on all my items. First item $9.17, after I ask them to fix $ $7.17, 2nd item $9.63, after I asked them to fix $7.46. 3rd item charged $22.85, after I asked them to fix $16.53. After that Adjustment was made, I ordered a Sandwich. Charged $4.40, after they fixed it, real price $3.40. That $11+ overcharged Please check the price tag they place on your items at the meat counter. The price tag on the item is not what's being charged when they ring up the item. I put picture showing what I was charge initially , and what the correct price was. Notice also how all my items became miraculously heavier when they re-weight it to fix the price. read more

Don't let the exterior gas station appearance fool you as to the delicious treasures stocked inside. This is THE place to go for meat. In fact, it is the only place I go to shop for meat. And to be completely honest, it is a large reason why I decided not to become a vegetarian. But I digress. The butcher shop is a real, true butcher shop staffed by folks who are experienced in yielding beautiful cuts of beef and pork from the cleaver blade. A butcher, however, is only as good as his meat and the meat here is fresh. Really fresh. All their meat - especially their steaks, their bacon, and their smoked pork chops - are completely a cut above anything you will find elsewhere. I am not sure if the high quality comes from cows and pigs that have led unusually happy, carefree lives or because the butcher shop is a small, non-corporate operation, but the difference is really there and something you can taste as you sink your teeth into a juicy cut of sirloin or crunch into a smoky, savory strip of bacon. I have family in Dayton that request packages of their bacon as Christmas presents and other family that drive from Gahanna just to get their kielbasa and ground beef. Seriously. They do that. Just. This is just for the gas station: good prices, but absolutely awful layout. Too many pumps for too little space, essentially. I'm sure they're there for the Honda rush; I wasn't there then, but it still sucked. Hard to get in and out, nowhere to park that you're not in the way. Inoperative pumps with no sign. read more

Buddies at work have been telling me about it for years. I drove from Columbus, it was Really Worth it. Bought Pork Cutlets, an Cube Steaks, both cut easily with a Butter knife. Mosiers has very well versed staff, the Store reiminds me of the ones in the 60's an 70's, which is good from my point of view. It will be my place for all the Meat Products. read more

Consistantly inconsistant. I sometimes wonder about the meat. The ground beef, in the past, to me is iffy. I always make them wrap me new ground beef that hasn't been sitting in wrappers because the inside is brown and smells horrible when you brown it up. Someone told me at one point they dipped the beef in blood to give it the red tint. Gene, one of the owners, lied to me several times about the brown beef by saying that "that's what happens when the air doesn't get to it".... it was a line of crap, and I stopped going there for a long time. Great butcher counter and deli meat selection. They will make you a fresh deli sub or you can get stuff to take home. Locally run and opperated its a family affair. It is small but it packs a punch. Gas station, IGA grocery store, convience shop, butcher shop and fresh hot pizza by the slice. Great prices on pretty much everything, very busy at the begining of the month and very popular at Honda traffic time. Its a great place to shop! read more

Once upon a time the people behind the meat counter were very nice and helpful. THEN as money was coming in (my opinion) they got to be less helpful and at times act as if the customers was wasting their time. Ham Salad would be already in cartons. At times with brown showing. If ask to have "fresh" from near case, was told ALL is fresh and.begrudgingly spooned me up some! My opinion? NOT the nice friendly market it once was. read more

Ground Beef Color - Red versus Gray-Purple Meat The bright red color of ground beef is often used by consumers as a selection factor when purchasing hamburger, but a dark gray-purple color may not necessarily be a bad thing. All warm-blooded animals contain a pigment called myoglobin in meat tissues. This pigment is normally a dark grayish-purple but when it comes in contact with oxygen, it becomes oxymyoglobin and reacts by turning a deep red color. Meats that are vacuum-packed have not been exposed to oxygen long enough to turn red. It is for that eye-pleasing coloration that most fresh ground beef sold in clear packages at the market is packaged using a clear film that is oxygen permeable. The oxygen goes through the film and allows the meat to turn that pretty red color we associate with fresh beef. This is why it is not recommended to freeze meat in store packaging. FYI- They DO NOT dip the meat in a bucket of blood to give it the red tint! read more
