Big order for Father's Day, City BBQ hit it out of the park! Ordered Pulled Pork, Brisket, and Ribs with sides. Everyone enjoyed it.

Great place but not quite there for food and flavor. They do know their meats so let's start off with the great. The more cowbell sandwich was sooo good everything about it was perfect, brisket was so tender and flavorful. The Mac and cheese side was lacking in flavor and cheese. There was almost no cheese and the macaroni was discolored in some areas which was kind of off putting. My wife got the nachos and the pulled pork and topping like the pickled onions and cheese were great, sadly the chips were stale you should only use fresh chips. The bowl the nachos were placed in to go was so big. Unfortunately, it was mainly stale chips. Either make the bowl smaller so the ratio works better or add more of the delicious meat and toppings. We will give you another try in a month to see if you've improved on your quality. I have hopes for you. read more

The BBQ was average not bad but not great. The fries were more like the leftover as they were all small scraps, the Mac and cheese was average wish it was cheesier and not so dry, nachos were good but one third of the chips had no toppings or enough cheese on the side to scrap them in so not with the money. All and all it could have been an off day if they fixed these short comings I would come back. read more

This was not my first visit - but it's been awhile, so I am very proud of my order: - 1/2 pound of beef brisket - 6 smoked chicken wings - choose 2 meat platter with 2 sides: sausage, smoked turkey, macaroni & cheese, hush puppies. First off, wow. You may be overwhelmed by the choices. Don't be. Just order a nice array. One suggestion is to upgrade the sides from individual to pint size if you seek to extend the meal to more people. The order above served 2 with about 1/4 lb of brisket leftover and one slice of turkey and 2 hush puppies. The brisket and the hush puppies were our favorite. The brisket is tender and flavorful - and you can ask for dark, no dark, and/or lean. The hush puppies are hands down the best I've ever had. Light and perfectly fried to a delicate crispness without one hint of grease from its frying time. Outstanding. The next favorite was a very close #3 and #4. The sausage is #3 and snaps just right with a nice zesty flavor. The chicken wings are smoky, crisp, and meaty. I'm hard-pressed to suggest which sauce to enjoy with them... you can't go wrong. The smoked turkey is delicious and with the sauces, very good. We also enjoyed the macaroni and cheese but I'm kicking myself for not choosing the collard greens. Next time. Next time... Tips: 1. I had issues with the mobile app and ended up going inside to order. I'm sure it was me - but honestly, the service inside was so great I did not mind. Not one bit. 2. Do not skip the hush puppies. 3. Ditto for brisket. I will be ordering this on every order. 4. Their sauces are excellent. I like the original with brush fire at a 1:1 ratio. I haven't been to City barbecue in years since I'm pretty picky when it comes to barbecue. My friends suggested this place since their son really loves the sausage. The menu has expanded! I got a salad with brisket and the Chipotle ranch dressing. Great flavors! And it's a pretty big salad with a decent amount of meat. I was impressed! Staff was nice. Really helpful giving their suggestions from the menu. Tons of parking too. Since it's right by Costco, I stopped over there for gas. Great location! read more

I normally patronize the city BBQ on miller Lane in Dayton Ohio, and as much as I love the brisket sandwich at city BBQ, I will no longer accept and/or patronize this establishment for two pieces of bread with McDonald's kids meal hamburger patty thin slice sandwich at the ridiculous price of $11.50. It infuriates me that anyone will even serve a sandwich so thin. Never again. read more

I was nearby and I needed some snacks to take to work, so I swung through. They have a two lane drive-through like McDonald's, which I'm sure helps at busy times. Obviously BBQ can't always be prepared quickly, so you might have to wait. Plus they have spaces off to the side. Very nice digital menu boards. All the usual suspects. One thing about City is that their sides are as good as their meats, so I got a three side plate, which gets you a small discount. Went with my standards: baked beans, corn pudding, greens. I already know I like their versions of all these things. Baked beans have brisket in them. Greens have turkey. I would've gotten meats if I was actually getting lunch, or eating there. It's not the best barbecue in the world, but it's pretty good. It's comfort food. Also got a sweet tea, because theirs is actually sweet. Service was pretty quick. Prices are reasonable. The place is brand new, and I'm sure it's nice inside too. A handy location for me, and good to see some more food options out this way. read more

Went to city bbq for dinner with the family and got the smokehouse salad with pulled chicken. It was delicious. The chicken was tender and full of flavor. Lots of great food choices from sandwiches to salads and lots of choices for sides. Their kids menus only had 2 choices. They also server beer as well. The inside was pretty clean and it was seat yourself kind of dinning experience. There were lots of tables for large or small groups. We will definitely go back. read more

Parking: Be careful, the parking spots are lined up with the double drive-thru lanes. The parking lot layout is an accident waiting to happen, as cars have to back out of their parking spots right into the drive-thru lane. Not the best design, but the restaurant does have plenty of parking. Staff: We walked to the front to place our order, the staff were friendly, nothing above and beyond, but average and acceptable. Food: I was a little disappointed in the food. I just had eaten 2 days prior at a different location of the same franchise, the other location had amazing food, so I expected since it is a franchise for the food to be consistent, I was wrong. I ordered the pulled pork, brisket, fries, and corn bread. Everything here was deserving of 3 stars. Bathrooms: Single use only, but they were clean and did the job. Ambiance: The ambience here was very casual. The restaurant was a little loud and well lit. Doesn't feel super clean, but it seems like a good place to have lunch with friends. read more

Went during opening weekend and was impressed with how smoothly they had things running! Awesome location right off 33 at Post Rd. Staff was friendly; food was great! I love their green beans and potato salad as side dishes...and you can't go wrong with any of the meats. Love that they have a various sauces. My fave is the sweet. read more

Modernized City Bbq when compared to other locations. Love the open updated vibe. Food is great and maintains the bbq goodness found at other locations. What can I say , CITY BARBECUE is one of the most consistent Barbecue restaurant chains UA , Grove City and my favorite the newest in Dublin/ Plain City . To Go or eat there you can't go wrong. Wow, this place used to be good..not anymore. The brisket was bad and the ribs were so tough I couldn't even eat them. Sides are still good but the quality of meat has changed in my opinion. It's a Tuesday night. Came to get my curbside order and after over 10 minutes no one came out so I went inside to see if I did something wrong. I waited another 5 minutes before anyone helped me in which I asked the cashier if anyone was working the curbside line. She then said yes and I could wait in my car for the order to come out. This whole process was almost 30 minutes and not even close to the convenient curbside order I thought I was getting. Do not recommend if you are thinking this will be a quick to go order. Have eaten at city bbq many times .the restaurant in Powell is closest to me.always fresh and assembled in front of you.large portions.all of there sides are wonderful with that made at home taste.all of their meats are smoked to perfection. I've tried CBB before and was not a fan (my fave Ray Rays is hard to beat), but CBB's Cue tacos with their pickled onion goodness are probably the best new dish I've tried in a long time, and the side of Cue baked beans was darn good as well. I used curbside pickup and parked in the wrong place due to a lack of signage, so CBB apologized with some delicious chocolate cake with what tasted like a sour cream frosting. That kind of service is always appreciated and never forgotten. My previous complaint about lackluster service (No napkins with barbecue! Items packaged upside down so they spilled all over me when I took them out of the bag), are a distant memory. In fact I went back today and will probably become a regular. Nice people and great food. I might even take time to go in and enjoy the restaurant's rustic charm. Oh and did I mention they open at 10:30 am? This means you can order an 11:00 lunch and beat the crowd. If you haven't been to the Dublin/Plain City location lately, give it a try. read more

We love City BBQ but tried this location and we're disappointed. It was very expensive (I know, inflation), but then our food came out barely warm. I didn't get my side so I had to go back to the counter, where I was ignored for the better part of 5 minutes, it was not busy. The flavor of the food was on point, even if the temperature was not. Ok food for a decent price, just not overly impressed. Note: I have only gotten takeout. My biggest issue: it's supposed to be a bbq place and you get very little bbq sauce. I have ordered 5 individual meals from here on 3 separate occasions and the meat is barely sauced and they give you one small container of sauce that holds around 3 tablespoons. Thank goodness I keep sauce on hand. I would consider dining in but I won't order takeout again. read more

I've been here several times now and the staff has always been nice and pleasant. I had a bad experience with an employee being very rude and missing an item and not finding out til I get home. I have never received the correct catering order EVER from City Barbecue. And when I say it's off, the order is at least half missing or wrong. I spent $275 on a take out order. I got to my car and maybe had $150 worth in my bag. I went in and stood at the counter for 20 min with no one asking if I needed help. Half of my order was missing and was not even prepared. They forgot my gallon of tea. They brought me one that was opened! 1/4 of the tea was missing like a worker drank it. I ordered hush puppies. I got fries instead. My order had No barbecue sauce --- and no desserts that I ordered. It was all a complete disaster. There was no manager in sight who even asked what was going on and they offered me nothing -- no discount-- nothing extra -- nothing. Order was to be ready at 5:30 pm and I didn't leave the store until 6:30. Food was so cold when I got home. read more
