The smoked cheddar is out of this world. They make all their own sausage and have many German specialties, including Braunschweiger, liver pudding, and knockwurst. They sometimes have beef products from OSU AG School. They're only open three days per week, and for abbreviated hours (as of this writing, their website says they're open Thursday 8a-6p, Friday 8a-6p, and Saturday 7a-1p - AND IMPORTANT - THEY ONLY TAKE CASH, but there is an ATM. Thurns is a true Columbus treasure for which you need to make a trip to the Southside to sample all their great products from a family business.

I could smell the grill from a ways off, especially the Chicago style Italian beef he had sitting there marinading. The menu offered for regular options and two specials, one being a Veggie sandwich. I went with the Italian sandwich, which had a thick slice of Genoa salami and pepperoni on it and a pile of the Italian beef covered in veggies and spicy mayo. This.. should have been enough for me, but I had to get the Corby Dog too which was a 1/4 lb hot dog topped with pulled pork and homemade BBQ sauce and purple slaw. All the meats are local, and the awesome bread that it comes on is too. I downed that Italian sandwich pretty quick even though it was quite a bit of food and started to get the meat sweats. It was so good, but Kenny's not messing around with his meat, and you'll probably want to take it slow. As far as the Corby Dog, I saved that for later. About 15 minutes later. It was absolutely delicious, and the BBQ sauce mixed in with the sweet peppers and grilled onions was really tasty. I wanted to get this review out here before I fell asleep at work, because the food was just so good. I see now why he won an award at the Columbus Food Truck festival. He's also selling OH Chips! Located in the Main Street through downtown, it's a small storefront with a lot of character. The footprint isn't huge, but they've got a lot to look at and choose from. The meat selections range from some delicious brats and hot links, to chicken, pork and lamb, and topped with some next level beef! We're legit always looking for good beef and this is some of the best we've seen anywhere. They had 45 day aged Tomahawks, aged Wagyu loins, and more cuts than you can shake a stick at! We ended up with some NY strips and a 45 day aged ribeye - they were magical! As good as we've had anywhere and the owner was super cool to boot! We grabbed some wine for dinner - from a Yakima/Zillah winery nonetheless! I even grabbed a shirt. This place is a gem and one that the area is lucky to have!
