i recently stayed at your hotel in Ashland Virginia,And there's a few things I'd like to let you know. First of all , I was only allowed to towels and to wash cloth for 2 days 2 adults and two children. The water did not wanna work.It was basically room temperature the whole time. I began to have a rash before I left and found out it was bedbug bites , they're on me , my wife really bad and my two children. Anytime I let the hotel know about any problems.They just told me it was my fault or made it.My fault. I would like a full refund for my stay.I will attach my reservation number from my stay. I'd like to do this the professional way without posting pictures and making a bad Google review or worse with the situation, but I contacted the hotel itself in Ashland Virginia, and they told me I was dirty and it was my fault even though I only stayed in that hotel for the last 3 days read more

Highly recommend going somewhere else. Walls are paper thin so you can hear all the fighting and dogs. They have a napkin duct taped over the peephole on the door so people can't see inside. My bedding was not washed dirty and had stains. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra 20 dollars and go somewhere else. read more

Motel6 at Ashland ,VA is located at a convenient location. it has a great rate and alway is of my first choice when I travel or pass by to Richmond area. the staffs there are very nice . For people on the road all the time , it is a good plus. I would highly recommend this motel. read more

The room is not in accord to standard. The bedding was stains with rust. The illows horrible with stains which should be throwed away. First off I was traveling from Florida to Maine with my daughter, 2 Boxers and kitten. I was exhausted and just needed somewhere to rest my head and that would allow my pets. Motel 6 allows pets with no pet fee, they don't ask if they're friendly, what breed, if they're UTD on shots, nothing. So just be aware. I requested a bottom floor room that I could back up to. Sold out. So I got room 129. Close to parking which was great. I lug the huge cat carrier, the two Boxers and our bags to the room. Had I not done this already I would've demanded a refund and left. But I was tired. It was New Year's Eve so there was an up-charge too. $10. $67.97 for one night. We open the door. The first thing I noticed were the stains on the walls. The ceiling. Mold. Water marks. The smell. Not sure what it was of. The floors were atrocious. I used some Lysol wipes on the floors before I even allowed my dogs to step foot inside. They were black immediately. There was a pile of who knows what swept into the corner. I guess they don't clean corners but rather cut them. I also wiped down the sink counter top which was covered in soap scum, hair, and other various unknown substances. The towels were damp and mismatched. Some had stains on them too and hair. Not mine as I didn't even use them to dry my hands or wash my face, instead I used facial wipes. I did find the towels useful for my dogs dishes to be set upon so that they would not be forced to eat off the dirty floors. There are no tissues. Use toilet paper. It's 1 ply. The real good stuff that you need handfuls just to wipe yourself. The bathroom was nasty - there was pubic hair in the tub. Black pubic hair to be specific. The toilet looked like it was from 1950 and also that was the last time it was cleaned. No one bends here to clean. I did notice that there are soap bars only, no shampoo or conditioner. Bring your own. That is if you decide you want to stay there. The soap bar on the sink counter appeared to have been thrown from the doorway. The placement of it was quite unusual. I failed to take a photo of it. The heating and Ac vent was missing. I didn't dare to operate it but rather used my very thin semi white sheet to keep myself warm. The two beds were interesting. One had a very large brown colored stain. We were left to wonder what could've caused such a stain. The pillows are useless. I slept with a hoody sweatshirt on covering my face as much as possible as I laid in bed wondering what the little black bug in the corner was. Bed bug? Roach? I decided to shut the lights off in fear of what it might be and how many friends it had. I didn't sleep for a moment. My dogs enjoyed barking and growling at the various people who decided to walk and hang out outside of my lovely picture window which was covered with a disgusting orange curtain that had quite a bit of dust on it. At all hours of the night. I could hear other people near by during the night too. Paper thin walls. No real privacy. I did peek inside the fridge but be aware that I was scared. It was very moldy. The microwave had enough leftovers in it to feed a family. The furniture is dated. Dirty. Water damaged. Mismatched. Lights are dusty. The tv had cobwebs on it. WiFi has issues. My kitten resided in the bathroom for the night and developed a sneezing issue for the rest of our ride home. That was not fun. He was quite traumatized. My child also hasn't stopped sneezing since our stay and it's quite annoying. If you enjoy cats there are several strays or feral cats that roam around to catch mice or whatever other creatures live at this Motel. If you decide to stay enjoy it. It's an experience to last a life time. read more

Gross!!! We got a room with 2 beds...it was like a choose your own adventure game. Bed 1 contained period blood stained sheets and we managed to find a blunt roach in bed 2 as well as various other crumbs of who knows what. As if that wasn't enough to make this stay horrible...in the morning I was so pumped to take a shower after sleeping in that pool of unwashed bedding. There were countless cigarette burns all over the tub but I figured I'd chance it. Then I saw this little blue blob of soap on the curtain with human hair stuck to it. Only if you have no other choice in the world!!! I only stopped because I sat in construction traffic for 2 hours at 2am and when I finally got rolling saw another sign for construction. First, the sign says 39.95 which the lady says they don't have that rate anymore. The company just hasn't purchased new signs. WTH??? Then she is staring in my car like I'm lying about traveling alone. I get the AAA rate of 44.95. She copies my license (they still do that?). The whole transaction is conducted through a small window because you can't get into the lobby. The towels were so crunchy, I just skipped a bath and went with wet wipes (Gross). I am hoping they were crunchy because they were hung up damp. The toilet needed a good cleaning (around where those plugs are) - yuck build up. The comforter was yuck and I was scared to take my shoes off. The thin blanket on top of the see through sheets had been attacked by moth or something. This place is a shitshow. It's disgusting. They overcharge. We booked with booking.com and it was supposed to be $49. Go upfront to check in and he charges $63. I have NEVER paid a dime more than what booking.com said. The rude man at the front desk flat out insulted my intelligence and told me I wasn't overcharged. Um,yes I was. They are super stingy with towels. Like they are made of gold or something. The floors are filthy. The bottoms of my slides were clean, then they got wet from the bathroom floor and like there were black shoe prints everywhere. The shoes had only been worn in that room and were filthy!!! There were pubic hairs all over the shower. Black pubic hairs. Thank god I had spray bleach in my car! It's like they took random pieces of furniture from anywhere they could get it and threw it in a room. The heat either worked too well or not at all. I'm not a princess by any means and know how to "rough" it but this.. this is too much! They should be ashamed! Also, the room next to us had a man about mid to late 30's, with 4or 5 kids, oldest one being like 11, and an elderly woman who could barely move. Oh and a pit bull and a chihuahua. But the guy did not know how to speak in a Normal tone. He screamed the entire time we were there. At his mom, at the kids, at the dogs, everyone. I work nights so his screaming and slamming stuff into walls and just non stop chaos. Oh and there was 3 big black nasty smelling trash bags outside his room that just hung out on the sidewalk. This place is a dump. The wifi doesn't work, even with password. The rooms are huge - but it's all just wasted space. The place has never been updated our renovated. The carpets are at least 50 years old and ... moist. Peeling paint, broken doors, crazy old furniture. Toilet ran all night but did not flush when called upon to do so. I only had one light bulb in the entire place, literally did not have light bulbs in the rest of the fixtures. Even the ice maker did not work, but standing in there with the spiders and cockroaches was too freaky anyway. I feel sorry for the people that work there, it does seem that they do try. For what it was, it was relatively clean - not clean enough for me to risk taking a shower, but not outright filthy. When I told them about the leaky toilet and light bulbs they were there immediately, except for the tiny detail of me trying to check out of the room while two big guys were coming in, it was nice to see the hustle. read more

Okay so they say you get what you pay for. In this case we got worse than we paid for. How many hotel chains do you know don't serve some type of breakfast? This motel 6 does not. The owner told us of you want me to serve you breakfast you will have to pay me 10 dollars extra with the grin of a hyena. He was proud the had free coffee in the morning though . We got in our room and it stunk really bad. It hadn't been cleaned since the stone ages. There was no alarm clock in the room. That was minor because I'm glad I brought my own sheet because the bed had dirt all over it and the comforter was stained. We were there two nights and had paid for that. They wouldn't take AAA which hotels don't do that, this one. They have people living there and one guy was walking his vicious pit bull. The dog started started barking and wanted to charge at our car. They didn't clean the room or bring fresh towels the second day. The owner said that "if you want towels you will have to come get them." I saiid no I need you to bring them. Thirty minutes later he brought towels and they weren't big enough for a toddler to use. Had the worst experience when we were trying to check-in and treated very poorly by the girl named Danielle Henderson that we ended up cancelling our reservation even tho we were exhausted after driving over 500 miles. We decided to book our reservation over the phone because we tried 4 different hotels with no luck since it was a last minute decision and we're trying to avoid getting into an accident since we started feeling sleepy.. we ended up in motel 6. I booked 2 double beds for 2 adults over the phone. And received the confirmation via email. We got there little after midnight and Danielle greeted us with such a nasty attitude. Before she check my reservation in the system, she asked if i booked it for 2 adults, and i said yes. She took my ID and checked my reservation, she then smiled and had a smirk on her face and told us that "you only booked for 1 person and now my job is in jeopardy". I asked her "how is your job in jeopardy? If it's booked incorrectly by an agent, i dont mind paying the difference" she kept talking and giving us such an attitude, to the point where i asked for a manager, she gave us a business card and we asked for her name, she stated "what else do you want? My last name? My employee number? My DOB? My SSN #?" And we said, your employee number is fine too, and she replied in such a sarcastic way "no, i dont have that".. after giving the card, she said "im gonna tell my manager what happened, and that you can no longer stay here, so you better leave now". I travel a lot and it was the worst experience ever! The place was sketchy but we had no choice but to stop and get some rest. But it was the worst decision ever.. as exhausted as i was.. Hi I stayed in your motel 6, as I have many times over the years, so I generally know what to expect. However, I stayed there on Oct 16th in room 152, and it was shockingly awful. the phone did not work, the floor was cover in a slime, where I had to walk in shoes as not to catch something from the floor. It was cracks in the walls where insect, roaches, and mice droppings on the floor, photo below. I was just to tired after driving from New York City to leave so I endured it. But I simply can't stay there again after this dreadful experience. I'm letting you know so others won't have to suffer what I did. I even asked if I could have a late check out since I didn't check in until after 1 am, and was told no I had to be out by 11. maybe 11,30 yet the motel was empty, now I see why... shocking. read more

The hotel has nice large rooms with king size beds. The other (longterm) guests are cool, and the area feels very safe. One side of the hotel is reserved for dogs. The only downfall is the annoying staff who call regularly to ensure that you get out of there before 11am. Without Kristen at the front desk pushing us out of there, for the value, this place would be a four or a five star hotel. read more

The room was very decent for the price. Spaceous and quiet. However, there was a shortage of working electrical outlets in my room and NO internet, as in no WiFi or wired which is absolutely ridiculous in the year 2010. Last night we stayed at the Motel 6 in Ashland VA. We had been there a few other times, usually because we were too exhausted to travel any further, and needed a motel with walk in abilities for my disabled husband. Normally we end up on the left side of the building, where the website photo is taken. Behind that is low income housing, which contributes to foot and car traffic throughout the night. Last time, the person in the next room had several pit bulls. This past visit was the worst. The sign on the entrance said masks must be worn, otherwise use the night window. I entered, having a mask, and saw they also sold masks at the desk. None of the staff wore masks. None of the staff I saw walking from building to building wore masks. There was a bottle of hand sanitizer at the desk, which had a very slimy consistency. When I mentioned this to the check out clerk, she laughed and said many commented on it. There was no wiping of the desk or counter area after my transaction. We went to the right side of the building first, since I had asked for a handicapped room. At the front of this wing is a cluster of large paned bow windows, with one large pane broken, and old mattresses stacked. The room turned out not to have two beds, so the clerk changed it for us. We were placed on the interior of the left side, which seemed safer, but the room was far for my husband to walk. I had to live park, and also carry our luggage a ways. There was a used condom greeting me in the driveway. I went in the room to spray disinfectant, and wipe down hard areas. When I started up the air conditioner, the room filled with the smell of mold and warm rubber. It was so bad we left our room door ajar for over an hour. The floor molding was cut in small pieces in the dressing area, and many portions of the walls had a shoddy repair job from bowing out and other water damage. It was one of the worst places I had ever stayed. Trying to hide disrepair in such a cheap way, was insulting. The clerk was very friendly. The other male staff never smiled or said hello. They would stand behind the walls and peek, which was flat out creepy. To make their hostile attitude worse, there was a flashy Mercedes parked in the entrance with the vanity plate Motel 6 on the license. I felt I helped pay for it while they let the place fall into disrepair. After three years, the ice machine is still broken, but no one will say so. They just give directions to it. My dog got ill from the moldy airconditioner, so I took him out twice in the middle of the night. Naturally there was a staff lurker quickly walking into the main building. I will never get that tired on the drive to Florida again, I would rather stay in a McDonalds parking lot and risk getting arrrested for loitering. This was a horrible place to stay, and it's only going down hill. The only solution to this shamble of a building is a homeless shelter read more

If I could rate a zero, I would. This room was beyond dirty. Pulled beds out and crumbs and dirt and dead bugs underneath was disgusting. Smoke alarm needed a new battery as it was hanging from the wall. Toilet bowl cover was cracked, curtain for shower was hanging on by a thread and the bathroom door wouldnt shut because it had no latch. Very disgusting, would not recommend it at all. For the price it's hard to complain. The room was clean and the Wifi worked well. The facility is definitely older and could use a remodel as well as some normal upkeep. Front desk service was adequate. We got locked out of our room at one point and were helped quickly. Water damage everywhere and water dripping into the ceiling esp. in the bathroom which caused a massive mildew and musty odor. Have been congested and sick for 2 days now ever since I woke up there. Also, the sheets were not clean and smelled, only one light worked, no phone, no clock, half the furniture like the chairs were missing, huge hole in the wall behind the bed the size of someone's head, u name it! An older facility, to be sure, but the rooms are clean, the grounds are well-kept, and the pool is clear and cool. The staff is friendly and accommodating and very service oriented. Just off the highway and easy to find. A short walk across a quiet side street is a shopping center where you can get groceries and find shops. For restaurants there's a nice little Mexican place and a Starbucks, among others. When you come back, you can relax by the pool in the shade of a big tree. In my room the king size bed was some kind of Serta with a pillow top -- very comfy. There was also a microwave and a mini fridge that came in handy. When you're ready to leave, there are gas stations in every direction. This is a good basic place to stay. The prices can't be beat. They welcome travelers with pets. The building shows its age in the details: the paint and trim, the less-than-expert repairs here and there, the wear from years of guests passing through. If you're going to complain about every little imperfection, by all means, go spend an extra thousand a week at some 5 star. read more

Worst experience I have ever had being at a hotel. First when I check in to the hotel room I paid for the room smelled like animal urine. A very strong smell came from the room. I called the employee at the front desk over and told them that the room smelled very bad and the guy apologized and moved me to another room. Once moved to the second room the key card for the lock didn't work. Then once he gives me a new card I go into the room and realize that the sheets are the same sheets as the prior guests. There was still hair and stains in the sheets that I again pointed out to the employee. Then my card doesn't work again and I call the employee, I then get new sheets put on my bed and another apology. Then when I go to use the bathroom the bathroom is still very dirty. There are bugs all over the room. Then the worst part, the towels which are still wet and there's hair on them and look like they have been used by the prior customer. I look at them and it looks like they were picked up off the floor and refolded. I let the guy that does the room service know what's going on he apologizes and said it will be fixed right away. Me and my wife leave to DC and drive back and get back to Virginia around midnight that day. Little to my surprise the key card doesn't work again. Then when I call the guy at the front desk again he apologizes and opens the door for me. When I opened the door the room still had the same towels thrown on the floor. Same sheets nothing was made or cleaned. The room was exactly as I left it. I was furious but when I asked why I was told by the guy that does the room service, "I shouldn't have taken my day off today" and then told that if I wanted room service I had to request it. Then to top things off I wait 30 minutes for new towels and sheets and then the guy that does the room service's wife knocks on the door and says. "I don't work here but my husband does and I wanted to know if you wanted me to make your bed for you?" And then she asked me if I wanted towels. I call getaroom.com and was on the phone with them until 2am.Then when I ask for a refund I am told by getaroom.com the place that I booked the room through which by the way suck. That I needed to wait until the next morning before I can check out because they need the supervisors permission for me to get my money back and if I leave before then that I will not get my money back. I then get curious and lift the sheets off the mattress to find what looks like feces stains from what id like to think a dog. Then immediately I check into another hotel down the road for a better price and an actual room where they treat their guests like people and not animals and for the same price I was paying here. I wait til that morning and checkout like getaroom had told me to do. Then the guy on the phone tells me that they spoke to the supervisor and because I technically spent a night at the hotel I am not entitled to a refund. I paid 235 dollars for 3 days. These guys are thieves and should be shut down. I should have read the reviews before going to this dump but it was my error. I have already reported these guys to Motel 6 Corporate as well as am in the process of reporting them to the health department. read more

The receptionists were very nice and pleasant. Rooms were clean with good beds. Airconditioning worked so well I had to turn it down. It had everything we needed and there was even a very inviting looking pool. The fridge and microwave both worked well. One star only because ZERO stars is not an option. I have stayed in different Motel 6s while driving across the country. This is by far the worst. They had to change my room 4 times to find a room that was clean, had towels, the tv and wifi worked. There was a couple at the desk who had checked in before me that were teying to get a refund.
