To fix the stopper, just pull it out and lay it behind the faucet!

Well, the heat was either "off" or "full blast inferno" with that kind of dry electric heat that makes it impossible to breathe through your nose, so I had to get up several times in the night and open the door to let the sub-freezing weather cool off the room. I told the maintenance guy the stopper in the sink wasn't working and, since the faucet was leaking, it was going to overflow. When I returned, they'd fixed the stopper at least (see pic for the bang-up job they did), but the sink still drips at a steady trickle, so there is that annoying noise and waste. Then, you get to listen to CNN while you check in, so there is THAT annoying noise before you even get in the room. Then there is the trash in the parking lot, the cop sitting outside your room for hours with his/her lights flashing, and the charming touch of ghetto authenticity of the old mattress leaning against the stair railing. But, what do you expect for $35 per night? Oh wait, for a minute I was thinking the owners were decent, rational human beings. They actually charge $90 per night.

My room was just old and had so many issues and I ended up having to literally get on my hands and knees to clean .. no exaggeration! From the couch which had dust mites to the bathroom and overall upkeep of the room I was super disappointed. I've worked at Marriott so I know the standard and I always stay at residence inns which are my fav hotels. The staff tried to accommodate me and switch rooms but the other room wasn't any better and I was already settled into my room and it was late when I returned from running errands. I always stay at this property several times before and other Residence Inns and this was by far the worst as far as cleanliness goes. Again stay was amazing and super helpful. I stayed 3 nights and received 20,000 points for this issue which doesn't even equate to a full nights stay at this property. Super disappointed and won't be returning here. The pictures explain it all! The only reason they are getting 3 starts is because of the wonderful staff!

Residence Inn by Marriott Upper Marlboro Joint Base Andrews…read moreMy stay at this hotel was pleasant in terms of the room and comfort; however, the front desk experience and billing issue were extremely concerning and overshadowed the entire stay. Upon arrival, no staff was present at the front desk. When someone finally appeared, they failed to follow standard check-in procedures, including not requesting a credit card for incidentals, which is customary at Marriott properties. After three days, at the time of checkout, I was suddenly stopped by staff and treated as though I had done something wrong, despite the oversight being entirely on their end. I was then asked to place my card on hold for incidentals on the day of checkout, rather than at check-in. Weeks later, I discovered that $596.81 was charged to my card, even though the entire stay had already been paid for using Marriott points. This charge was not authorized as a room payment and was never clearly explained. As a result, I am now disputing the charge with my bank, and the process has taken weeks to resolve. While the physical stay itself was nice, the lack of professionalism, poor front desk management, and unresolved billing practices are unacceptable. Being treated like a criminal for an internal staff error, followed by an unexplained charge, has completely damaged my trust in this location. I strongly recommend that management review staff training, check-in protocols, and billing controls to prevent this from happening to future guests. This hotels charged me for the entire stay which is very disturbing to the highest extent. When I called the representative at the front said, "Nothing was taken out and I needed to call my bank." One star is way too generous.

I believe this was considered the handicap accessible room based on the low hooks and how the sink was arranged with toiletries towards the front of the counter. It had a spacious bathroom, separate living room, and a bedroom with its own doorways. Two TVs, automated blinds, a large wardrobe with a safe, mini fridge, and coffee machine made this an incredibly well equipped room. The slippers and bathrobe were both a nice touch - I liked the bathrobe so much I wish I knew where to buy one! The Le Labo toiletries in the bathroom were amazing too. It was such a nice room I hardly wanted to leave! A couple quick notes for improvement: 1. The phone in the room was not operating correctly. I called down for utensils and got disconnected several times before the front desk forwarded my call to dining services. The phone then just rang and rang and rang with no one answering. 2. The temperature in the hotel in general was pretty warm. I was sweating my butt off in the lobby! Temp in the room stayed fairly stable but wouldn't get cooler than 70/69. 3. I wanted a glass of wine from the hotel bar to take up to my room. The bartender seemed puzzled by this request and mentioned that I'd need to bring my wine glass back down myself. Not a big deal but just seems like an oversight for a hotel with it's own onsite restaurant. Of course some guests are going to want to enjoy a drink in their rooms.

The hotel is extremely expensive, yet it doesn't include complimentary breakfast or many of the perks you'd expect at that price point. I had breakfast by myself, and a simple meal of bacon, eggs, and coffee came to nearly $50. There is also no sundry shop on-site and no traditional vending machines--only a wine vending kiosk, which I didn't even know existed. Parking is another added expense. Valet parking is the only option and costs $65 per night, plus tax. Overall, I'd rate this property a 7/10. While the accommodations are comfortable and well maintained, the numerous extra charges and lack of included amenities make the overall value disappointing.

Two full bedrooms, plenty of room to spread out, and it made a big difference not feeling cramped for a whole week. The full kitchen and separate living area came in handy, especially with kids, being able to cook, snack, and just relax without always going out was a plus. The location is hard to beat. You're right at National Harbor, so everything is walkable....restaurants, shops, the waterfront. It made the trip feel easy and low stress. I will say, while the suite is spacious and comfortable. They have made renovations but some areas could use a little updating. Things like the countertops and faucets felt a bit dated compared to everything else. Not a dealbreaker at all, just something you notice. There is a daily parking fee that guests are responsible for, $25 a day. Service was good overall, staff was friendly and check-in/check-out was smooth. All in all, I'd stay here again. Great for families, great location, and the extra space really makes the difference for a longer stay.

As soon as we entered the room I wanted to leave immediately because I felt physically ill that we were being charged $250 dollars. The carpet was worn down and stained with god knows what in many places and smelled so bad of cigarette smoke that the clothes we did not even take out of our bags reeked and we had to wash them. The bed was broken and leaning, there was mold and cigarette burns on the upholstered headboard and stains we could not identify. The back of the bed was held together by duct and painter's tape and there was a large gaping hole in the middle of the bed's headboard. There were multiple young men standing in the front door to the hotel and we felt unsafe using the main doors, so we found a back door that was held open with a small dirty towel that we used. The heater/AC had coffee (or old blood) stains all over the front of it. The worst part is, we booked the room specifically for a heart shaped tub as advertised and when we showed up, we received a jacuzzi room that was not heart shaped. The staff was rude and unhelpful so we just decided to straight up not spend the night.

I figured it might be okay, and pretty cheap... I was wrong. $95 a night is not inexpensive, especially for the area. But, I'm assuming it was due to being right next to the metro. But, for that price, I should feel comfortable enough to hold the remote. Lets go through my night. I go up to my room, and walk into what smelled like a cloud of bum deodorant. After adapting to the smell, I reach for the remote, which is sticky. I put it down, but after I turned on the TV. The porn that was left on, was the only semi-clean thing about that room. Exhausted, I pull back the covers. I got a good corner back before the open condom wrapper made me throw the covers back on. The microwave wasn't too dirty, but that may be because of the neat freak time-traveler that brought it from 1992. The towels to shower with looked like something people wash their car with; or clean a slave's wounds with. It may seem like an exaggeration, but trust me when I say that this was the filthiest hotel I've ever slept in. The homeless man at the end of my hallway looked to be getting good shut eye while I was leaving this morning.
