Ac didn't work, toilet wasn't stable, just overall tacky motel 6 compared to the nice one back in Utah! Wouldn't stay here again!

My partner and I just stayed at this motel, this past week. We stayed two nights. The location of the hotel is close to the highway, and about 8-9 minutes drive from downtown. That part is decent, for sure. However, we had a fairly deal-breaking issue with our room, and that is that it was NOT clean. The linens were all changed, yes. But our socks were covered with short dark hairs, like a dog's fur. Neither of us has dark hair, and we don't have a dog. The bathroom walls, mirror and floor all had visible dirty spots on them too. While I think this is gross and wrong to have us stay on a room that wasn't actually clean, we had been told by Ginger at the front desk, that the motel was sold out, and so we knew we couldn't be moved to another room, and we just sucked it up. But I would NOT stay again, if it was dirty like that, and we had another place to stay. The rate was $99/night!! We only paid closer to $85, because of discounts, but no room, no matter how cheap, should be dirty like that. read more

We stay at cheap hotels and laugh at bad reviews. That said, this motel sucked. The floors were worn out, lean but worn out, The room was cold and stayed cold all night. It wasn't that cold outside, like 50s but the room had no heat and no hot water. I don't expect much staying at cheapest hotel and use Motel 6 a lot. But I won't stay here again. read more

Not sure which was more Horrible! The Desk man and Lady or the Room. my poor daughter and teenage son were traveling by themselves. They rented them a room and the AC didn't work. The neighbor said they've been out for weeks and that the front desk lied to them. Then they went down there to ask for their money back. The front desk guy proceeded to try to assault my 13-year-old because they were in the middle of nowhere and wanted their money back for the room. they had to sleep in their car, but it was definitely safer than this motel. read more

This is a very tiny room, clean, but in poor upkeep as far as the flooring was curling up and the air conditioning stopped working around 2am. No amenities as far as microwave, fridge. The tv and cable were good. Just overall disappointed that a room at this cost was so minimal. Biggest complaint was lack of control on the ac. It must be a system installed in the 1960's. My room was clean, but the floor was buckled and peeling up - I suppose from too much water. The bed was not the normal motel 6 bed - it was uncomfortable. The grounds are in very poor shape - weeds and dirt where there should be grass. Employees that I encountered were all very nice and helpful. read more

Friendly! Helpful! Clean! Why a 5-star "great"? If you can afford to stop at a more expensive place, enjoy what you get for that money. I wanted to SLEEP in a decent room in the middle of a 1400 mile trip. The room was clean (I used a UV blacklight to check for less-visible problems). It had all the things I needed--wifi, good lighting, warm bed, decent blackout curtains, good locks, a shower I kinda want for my own place, plenty of towels. If I wanted TV, it's a big one with good cable channels, though I only had it on the weather channel long enough to get the info I needed (then switched to the Internet). Slept through the night, woke up early and feeling just fine, which for someone whose body likes to get cantankerous in the morning, was a pleasant exception to the norm. Some things that you might want to know if you're trying to decide if it meets your standards: Yes, it's old, but what they've chosen to spend their upgrade money on was what you'd hope for. The floor is old. I'm not sleeping on the floor. I have to bring pets back this way, and when I do, this would be perfect, because a hotel that allows pets is not common--and one where there are no carpets to worry about with furry companions who aren't great travelers is a plus, not a minus. Oh, and they knocked the price down with AAA, so that was cool. Make note when you plan your arrival: the turn onto the road can be a bit sneaky. If you're headed east-to-west, you'll get off the freeway, turn left onto the overpass, and stay in the left turn lane. There's the onramp for east-bound traffic and almost immediately after that is the left turn. read more

Trains. So many trains. I'm fairly certain one would hear fewer train sounds in the sleeper car in Amtrak. Highway noises were clearly audible from our room, and I'm not sure if it was tractor trailers or trains honking all night. All I know was I woke up in the middle of the night thinking "why is this happening?" As if the horns weren't enough, we had the *bonus* experience of our neighbors leaving at 4:30AM and yelling loudly and honking their horn repeatedly. This is really a freak incident and not reflective of the motel, but I'm so titled by it that I have to mention it. read more

WHO in the heck is writing good reviews on this place??!!!! To list the negatives I hardly know where to start. 1. *queen* bed looked like an old standard bed to me, shoved up against the wall and obviously one must climb over the other to get to that coveted location 2. Sounds like its ON I-80 itself, ...right smack i the middle of it...even with door shut. 3. Tiniest hotel room I've ever seen. Don't bring two suitcases unless you want to hang one from the ceiling 4. Cracked linoleum floor 5. I didn't even get to 5 because I left in about 1 minute. Do yourself a favor. I've spent many nights at various Motel 6's across the Western part of the US. This is one of the worst! Check out time is 11 am and it is STRICTLY enforced. There is NO exception for any late checkout. That was annoying as hell! I checked in at 10:30 pm. I wanted a half hour extension to 11:30 am checkout time as I was running late. NO exception. Some folks particularly like Motel 6 because of their FREE pet stay policy. Well I hate it! The room I stayed in reeked of kitty litter. It stunk up the room. By the time I left the next morning, everything I had in the room stunk of kitty litter. For the life of me, motels are for people! There not pet kennels! I don't want to reek of pet litter! Worst experience I've ever had at a Motel 6. And I'm not knocking down Motel 6s. I LOVE Motel 6's. For cheap lodging, there is nothing better than a renovated Motel 6! I stay at Motel 6's all the time. I specifically search for Motel 6s to stay. You can say I almost exclusively only look for Motel 6 to stay. But this particular one with NO EXCEPTION to late checkouts was horrible. I will certainly NEVER stay at this one again. read more

This was a great little oasis on 80. (I actually drove on to the Laramie Motel 6, after the Cheyenne Motel 6 promised that my face would end up on a milk carton before the week was out.) Susan was at the front desk, and after a numbing day on the road, she was the perfect kind of friendly. She even played with my old-man dog, which is its own kind of awesome. The room fit the bill, too: clean and newly renovated, it And the area seems very safe: I felt completely at ease walking my dog around the hotel. This hotel was our saving grace! We had a horrible experience at another local motel that resulted in police being call on fighting staff (for details - see my other reviews!). We called Motel 6 at 3am and they found us a room. We were greeted by a concerned, sympathetic staff member and shown directly to our room. The room: The room had obviously been remodeled recently. It was stylish and clean. The bed was a bit hard, but that is just personal taste. The bathroom, again, very clean. There is a shower only but the water was hot and lovely. Housekeeping: The housekeeping staff was wonderful. We returned to our rooms every day with fresh linens and towels waiting for us. Very nice! Location: This little motel is right off of I80. Even though it is right off the highway, we didn't notice any highway noise. The area is a little run down, but still seemed safe enough. Overall: We definitely will stay here again! read more

Laramie Motel 6 was my home away from home for about six weeks. The property is kept clean and in order. Any time I left my key in my room or my cell phone demagnetized it, the front desk staff were always kind and laughed with me at myself. It's a Motel 6, so understand you're not getting a high end hotel, however, it'll do the trick and the price is right. It's also a benefit that the police station is a block away. This keeps the riffraff element to a minimum. read more

I stayed here on a cross-country road trip with my 70-pound dog. The staff were very friendly, and the room was clean and modern (and, predictably, inexpensive: one of the virtues of this chain). I was able to sleep sufficiently well (the beds at these places aren't the most comfortable; you get what you pay for) without being bothered by trains or highway noise. As at least one other reviewer has noted, it's a bit of a drive to get any kind of food. The surrounding area was also a little sketchy in terms of getting a good dog walk in while also feeling safe. So, one star lost there, but overall we had a fine stay here. read more

$50 a night for a clean modern room. No usual gross straight out of package motel breakfast but they have coffee and tea. Lose a star because it was cold in the room and temp control did nothing and I couldn't find a spare blanket. read more

My first stay last week was perfect. Today was not. I noticed it was warm in the lobby but just assumed it was because it was closed off to the check in area part and thought nothing of it. I'm traveling with my oxygen dependent mother who cannot get hot. Went to the room and turned the air on to make it less hot. Ordered dinner and a few minutes later I noticed it wasn't any cooler. I called to get a new room when the desk agent said our air isn't working at all. What? They can't tell people about this? If it were me I could have settled for an open window. Windows don't Open. I asked for a refund. She said she could give it. I get to the desk again and she said no I can't issue a refund but my boss will be here in the morning and he can. She wouldn't contact him or anything for me. Not acceptable at all. The clerks lack of Concern was very evident. I will be calling to speak to management in the am. read more

I'm giving four stars because the AC was broken in room 140. Other than that, I loved the stay. Plenty of parking for my car and U-Haul trailer. My dog was allowed to stay for free. There was free coffee in the morning. Plenty of hot water for showers for two people! Never heard a sound from neighboring guests. The desk personnel were polite, especially the morning lady! If I ever travel through Laramie, Wyoming again, I'll stay here again! In the morning, it appeared most of the guests were people like myself, just traveling the road and needed a place to sleep and shower! Pizza Hut delivered very quickly to this location! read more

Our company booked us a room at the motel 6 in Laramie Wyoming for the past couple of days. I must say this has been the best motel 6 we have ever stayed in. The management has been wonderful to us. Almost like family. The room was very clean when we checked in. A bit on the small side but the beds are fairly comfortable. We were provided with refrigerator and microwave in the room. Although the bath room only provided a shower it was very clean and modern. I personally appreciated the laminate flooring since we has dogs. I highly recommend this motel if your looking for a cheaper alternative. read more

This place was so gross. We requested a non-smoking room, but it was obvious as soon as we walked in that the room had been a smoking room at some point recently. The walls must have been oozing old cigarette smoke. I had trouble sleeping, and found myself gagging from the smell. When I walked into the bathroom to shower I turned on the fan, and was blasted in the face with more cigarette smells. We opted to stay here because it is very inexpensive read more

After a horrible experience at the Ramada ( just in front of the motel 6 in Laramie) we decided to stay at the motel 6. We were very pleased with our room. They were newly renovated and super clean. They were perfect for the 4 of us. The rate was amazing and the customer service was fantastic. The rooms were an amazing value. They did not have a microwave in the rooms but that was ok because they did offer one in the hotel lobby. They do not have breakfast but for the price we paid for the room, we still had money left over from eating breakfast and lunch compared to the nightly price at the moldy Ramada. We will definitely be staying there again for our future soccer tournaments. read more

It was only $50 for the night, so I'm not expecting much. However, even with my lowered expectations, it still fell short. PROS: -The front desk lady was very nice. -The price was great. -They allowed our dog in the room at no extra charge. CONS: -We asked for a non-smoking rooms, but we're pretty sure we were in a strictly smoking room. It smelled really bad. -There was no air, fan or screen on the window. In winter, I don't suppose that would matter much. However, we were there for a very hot July night. It was just weird having the window wide open to try to air-out the stench at heat while having no screen on the window. People could have easily walked by and thrown things at me in my sleep. -Really lame futuristic shower. It must be a Motel 6 thing, but I hate their stupid showers! You have a curtain covering two sides of the tiny shower, and when you bend over to wash your feet, your stuck letting either your head or your butt touch the gross shower curtain. Yikes! -Trains: There were trains going up and down the track right across from the motel all night long. It seemed non-stop. Again, with no air conditioning or a fan, we had to sleep with the window open all night, which meant we had front row seats to the train show. read more

We travel back and forth from California and Arkansas several times a year, taking different routes at times, with all of our fur babies in tow. We almost always stay in a Motel 6. We like them for their budget prices and the fact that they are pet friendly. Overall, we have good experiences with this chain. On this particular trip so far, we have stayed in a Motel 6 in Winnemucca, NV, Evanston, WY, and Laramie, WY. The first two stays were wonderful and the employees were friendly. That being said, I can't say the same for the Motel 6 in Laramie. We checked in last night around 8 p.m. The woman at the front desk was very courteous and accommodating. The room was semi-clean, with pet stains (I am assuming) on one of the pillows and sheets. The room was very cool, so we just turned the fan down to low. Sometime in the very early morning, the unit was blowing hot air. We turned the unit onto the lowest setting to cool, but it just continued to heat the room. We ended up turning the unit off altogether and opened the window hoping to cool the room down. The water pressure here is very low, and by 7 a.m., there was no hot water whatsoever to be had for a shower. The door handle kept falling off, making it difficult to open and close the door. It was a very frustrating stay to say the least. When we checked out about an hour and a half ago, I informed the woman at the desk (older, with red hair) of all the problems with the room. She took notes and very matter of factly thanked me for letting her know, but offered no compensation for the undesirable conditions of the room. I also bet that room 123 will be just what it was for us for the next person(s) who rent it tonight. We will be taking the Laramie Motel 6 off our list for a descent place to stay in the future. read more

This motel 6 is very clean and great priced- best deal when traveling with my dog. Normally that would have sold me right there but my back says otherwise this morning. Between hearing 3 trains, every car go by on the interstate, and both my upstairs and next door neighbors conversations there was little time to sleep. When I finally could fall asleep I would awake to an aching back and hips. These beds are very uncomfortable. Also beware that if you want any food its a bit of a drive to get to the fast food. I don't think I would stay here again even though it is so updated. I would spend the extra cash to stay at a different hotel. read more

What a great place! My family and I were stuck in Laramie after our car broke down, so this was a nice little place to stay while it was getting fixed. The staff was very friendly and was happy to accommodate our needs. One of the staff members even looks like Johnny Depp's twin! Probably the only downfall was there was no refrigerator, but we actually used the windowsill to keep our drinks cool (in January). read more
