This was my first Fairfield Inn and it turned out to be a great choice! I used the convenient Marriott mobile app, checked in online, and notified the hotel that I'd be arriving early and indicated the time. When I arrived, a room had already been assigned to me and I scored an upgrade to a Studio King suite. I'm not sure what the regular room looks like but the suite is a very functional set up that includes a small living room with a built-in storage unit, large screen tv, love seat, ottoman/footrest/table, desk and chair. There is an excellent floor lamp as well as a high quality desk lamp if you need some extra light to work. Plugs were easy to find. There's a convenient nook with a shelf, mini-fridge, and a microwave. The bed is comfortable, firm, not bouncy at all. Pillows were in good shape and the room was clean. My ac/heater (window) unit did blow pretty hard and there was no way to redirect the air, though the thermostat was quite responsive. So, as for me, I just ended up with a lot of unnecessary lukewarm air blowing around. No prob. Laramie is only about 15 minutes from corner to corner (the Fairfield is located in one of the corners next to the airport.) The drive to the University is easy and routes you around any possible traffic in town - a quick and easy 10 minutes. Friendly, efficient service, free breakfast (which I didn't eat,) plus 24-hour coffee in the lobby (is this a thing at all Fairfields?) I'd totally stay here again. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Unfortunately, our initial experience with the front desk was deeply disappointing. ​When we asked for extra sheets and blankets, the clerk, Jacob, barely turned around to acknowledge us and claimed there were no sheets available. Later, when we asked again, he brought blankets but kept refusing the sheets, claiming they were reserved for tomorrow's room turn-overs. When we politely questioned that logic, he snapped back with, "I'd beg to argue that, and what do you know..." He was openly rude to us on two separate occasions, put out by basic requests, and his coworker sat right there without trying to help. ​The next morning, we spoke with the manager, Joseph, and the head of housekeeping. They were fantastic--apologetic, professional, and quick to explain that there were plenty of sheets in stock before bringing them right up. Joseph was our saving grace and greeted us with genuine hospitality. ​Front desk staff are the face of the business. While Joseph restored our faith in this hotel, Jacob's terrible attitude almost lost them a long-term customer. I hope ownership addresses this so future guests aren't treated with such disrespect.

We hit the road with a general idea of what we were doing, but no concrete plan for what town we'd end in each night, much less where we'd be staying. On 4th of July weekend, brave or stupid, maybe both. At roughly 1030pm, we noticed our available options had dropped significantly and the remaining availability was down to "suites" - of which, our first 2 attempts sold as we tried to book them. So, yes, this was our 3rd choice from the then remaining options but I'm not at all mad about it. Tho, we definitely overpaid comparatively with other brands, meh, considering the last minute bookingbon a holiday. I landed a slight discount, bringing it to -$20 & it had a whirlpool, which, after 20hrs of driving was a welcome surprise. (We didn't read the room details so not sure if it was supposed to be included or if it was an upgrade). On arrival, the property was fully booked with no vacancies. Whew. The room was spacious & clean tho the halls & rooms did have a musty odor- possibly that pet friendly smell that can stick. Bed was comfy. Pillows and towels are small, but I bring my own pillow, cuz I'm a picky gal. Plenty of outlets. Breakfast room, which we actually went down for this time, was small but efficient & we'll stocked. I don't know if items rotate but today they had biscuits, gravy, scrambled egg-like-substance, pirate & hot sauce available, waffle maker, 2 cold cereals, hot cereals, breads, bagels, muffins, cinnamon rolls.
