The owner is horrible. My dog pooped and I asked him for a bag to pick it up and he wouldn't listen to me and started to corner me and yell at me.Then when I finally got a bag to clean it. First time staying at a motel. Lady at checkin was really nice. The room was pretty up to date and clean. Laminated hardwood style floor with flat screen tv hung on wall. Beds were comfy. Coffee and tea serve in check in area every morning (I didn't check it out, lady at check in told us) Considering this is basically the only place in the area for visitors to stay, they've done well to upkeep the place. Thank goodness we did not experience anything remotely similar to past guests encounters or problems. After already booking the room, we were informed by the locals we spoke to, that we probably should re- consider staying elsewhere overnight based on the reputation this hotel has. Since it was already too late to cancel the reservation, I prepared myself for a restless nights sleep. When we arrived at the hotel, I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't appear as awful as I had imagined. The room was very clean and modern looking. The facility overall was nicely maintained. Friendly staff eased the check-in process. Not sure if this was a former hotel chain or not, but I didn't expect to see an outdoor pool, ice machines, or even a laundry room at a Motel 6. The facility itself seemed much larger than other Motel 6 locations I stayed in. Unlike other guests decisions , I would opt to stay here again. It was a comfortable stay. Motel 6 has a saying " The lowest price of any national chain". They should add " The lousiest internet of any national chain" I try to book Motel 6 because we like to travel with our pet. I don't mind paying a little extra for internet but the code is only good for one devise. If I use the code on another computer it kicks the last one out. We travel with two tablets and two computers and the way Motel 6 internet works, it is not convenient for us. Enough about the Internet, the room... the sink will not drain, the maid did not remove the trash from the room, the water is luke warm so no shower and every morning the traffic makes it very noisy. Consider staying here only if budget or work demands it. Update: the towel bar fell off the wall when I grabbed for a towel in the shower. read more

A friend needed a place to stay due to unforeseen circumstances out of his control. The counter staff were very polite and accommodating. He moved into a clean and renovated room. He has been waiting for someone to re-home his dog but was unable to do so and had to bring the dog with him. He notified the front desk ASAP and informed them that this was temporary and the dog will be picked up in a day or two. The next day the GM (he believes) came to his room and said that he can't have the dog in this room and would have to change rooms but we don't have any of those rooms available. So my friend asked "What can I do?" The GM said you have to be out by noon today. With no place to go he checked out. What kind of place kicks out a paying customer with no place to go?! read more

After staying there for 3 weeks while waiting for our apartment, we stayed here for 3 weeks. We were not offered room service once. We had to ask for clean towels, sheets, etc. We took out our own garbage. Nobody was ever at the front desk. It was overall a terrible experience. read more

Where to begin.....did this reservation through booking.com and went with it because of the 7.5 stars out of 10, seemed to me to be ok...picts on the site even looked ok, that's what I did wrong instead of coming to the trusted yelpers. I've uploaded some pics. These don't do justice until you see it in person, and by all means go ahead and book a room and see for yourself. Went to the Dennys next door, ( good food, but run down looking, but that's another review coming) and chatted up a few older locals, and it was brought up where I was staying....these guys didn't hold back, what a horrible reputation this place has, and it was sure confirming my short hour getting settled into our room before heading over to Dennys. The plain sight drug deals, the cars in and out ( yes I get that its a motel, but you don't have to be a genius to see and hear what is going on). The section I was in looked like it should be condemned or a major overhaul. The old locals told me that a few well known "Ladies of the Night" frequent here ALOT or even at times run a room a few weeks at a time. Was told a local gang has a lot of dealings in the motel.....left Dennys went back to the room, sat down to do some work from the office that I brought with me, and low and behold you have to pay for internet ( I frequent a decent amount of hotels/motels for work and have NEVER paid for internet, what a joke..) It is $2.99 per device, per day....ok, I was going to cave and do it because I needed my work done before I went to bed that night. BUT you have to get a prepaid code at the office to use it....I called the front office and the lady offered to "Comp. Me a code for the night, that I needed to go to the office and get it. I once again reluctantly went back out ( into the drug dealers and hookers ) to get said code. Got onto the internet and was immediately greeted by the sounds of stereo bass car competition taking place right outside my door. This went on and off for a good 2.5 hours. I was throwing in the towel, and just tried to get to sleep as soon as I could just to get morning quicker, and could leave. Best of luck anyone looking to book here. P.s also no bathroom fan, and small. The amount of steam that you will unleash and hang with will want you to open the window, but you can't.....because its screwed shut ( see pics. ) read more

Fair warning: I didn't end up staying here, but here're my thoughts anyhow. Pro: Cheap, which should go without saying. It was basically $60 for a one night stay for one person for a queen size bed. Also, from a distance, the outdoor pool seemed clean and moderately-sized. Con: 1. Mad sketchy people hanging around the motel, which basically negates the idea of using the pool 2. Well meaning, but hard to understand receptionists 3. Slightly smelly non-smoking room 4. Hairs in the bathroom of my "clean room" 5. Since nobody else apparently wanted to share their opinions on this place, I guess I will be the first. I stayed here awhile back in 2010 in the area and had to stay here because all of the other hotels were booked. I would give this place probably 2 1/2 stars. The beds were reasonably comfy (but I did notice cigarette burns in the covers) the TV worked as well as the air conditioning. Maybe it is just me, but has anybody else noticed that most budget motels have a Denny's/IHOP next to them? For a one night stay and if you are on a budget, It's not too bad. I can't comment on if the motel had breakfast or not because we left before/ after breakfast if they had it. So to sum it up, it's not too bad if your on a budget and need a place to stay. Stayed here for a week while waiting on our apt lease to start, here are a few of the issues we experienced: 1. WiFi isn't included...wtf? Had to pay $5 per day, PER DEVICE just to have Internet access in our room...which is usually free at every other hotel/motel. Absolutely ridiculous. 2. No fan in the tiny bathrooms which sucked 3. Very limited number of tv channels, although they did have hbo 4. Had to hold down the washer in the vending area because it wobbled so bad that it would just shut the machine off with about 3 minutes left. The place is dirty I had to have my PCA clean my room every day I am disabled and then they came in my room and confiscated a bottle of alcohol and then called my family to tell them that they had confiscated a bottle of alcohol mind you I was paying $900 a week to stay there and I was not walking around drunk like the shelter people that live on the third and fourth floor that are shooting up heroin and coming in completely smashed I kept myself stayed in my room I'm very sick so once in a while I like to have a drink at night before bed and Alex came in my room and took my bottle of alcohol and then proceeded to do room checks on me that's the day that I left I went to the manager and he lied right to my face the place is just dirty Alex actually said why don't you have your PCA clean your room they never once came in my room and cleaned it in the laundry lady Lisa yells and screams at everyone including my PCA I do not recommend anyone staying there at all oh and it's privately owned and there was Covid going through the whole building and they were still allowing customers to come and go and letting the people that had Covid use the elevator along with the people that were paying $900 a week to stay there read more

I had to book a hotel for 2 days for my sisters wedding and based on prices and proximity ended up choosing Motel 6. As soon as we pulled up I was concerned as there were tons of people wandering around in the parking lot and drinking on out front of their rooms. We checked in and went to our room, it was fairly clean minus the burn marks all over the bath tub of our non smoking room. After a couple of hours we heard a commotion and when we went outside there were lots police and a K9 dog in the parking lot. I went back inside the room as it was concerning. After awhile I had to go to my car, and as I went to go out there were 2 employees out in the parking lot talking to a friend of theirs. Turns out one of the hotel guests robbed the Shell gas station at gunpoint and was hiding on the property hence the police. They had arrested the man. But his girlfriend who he had rented the room with was still hiding out somewhere. After seeing me stand there the lady continued to say how the only people who rent here are junkies and dopeheads and the staff laughed and agreed. I chimed in stating some of us were just not from the area and I was just there for a wedding. They all laughed and one commented yeah right. I was super offended honestly and appalled that not one of the hotel staff apologized for the comment. The next night was just as stressful we arrived back to the room around 9:30-10 pm after the wedding, dressed in our wedding party attire and guests yelled and made comments. I will personally never stay at a motel 6 again. So insane. At check out when asked how my stay was I explained what happened and was simply told sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. My room was clean, very affordable. I only had one washcloth in my room however and when I called down to the front desk, the woman working was less than helpful. Shortage in washcloths. No big deal. The motel is in an ideal location, I walked right over to JC Penny and bought a new set of cloths. Very nice steaming hot showers. The WIFI is NOT free however, false advertising for sure. All in all I would say the staff need an attitude adjustment. I'm pretty sure they hate their lives. Not friendly at all and not helpful, staring blankly off into space when I asked them where the nearest Walmart was. Very clean comfy rooms.I will stay here in the future. The good - the room was relatively inexpensive for the area and check in/check out went quick and smoothly. The bad - First off, we got a non-smoking room and as soon as we walked in, it REEKED like weed. No other rooms were available and nothing was done about it. Our door had a chain, but no latch for it, so the chain just hung loose AND the deadbolt lock DIDN'T WORK. We only had the electronic key lock and because of the unbelievably sketchy stuff going on throughout the night, right outside of our room, I ended up pushing the small table in our room up against the door because we had no other working locks to keep the door secure. Next, they required additional money (besides the room fee which was WAY too high for the horrendously low quality room) to use the wifi, which is absurd in this day and age considering every McDonald's, coffe shop and library have free wifi. The water in the shower kept fluctuating between extremely hot and extremely cold, so showering was very unpleasant. The sink SPRAYED water horizontally (instead of pouring vertically like normal faucets do) right from the faucet and soaked me. The bed was horribly uncomfortable, so much so that we BARELY slept at all and woke up extremely stiff. If I could give it zero stars, I would. You do get what you pay for but what we got actually exceeded the price, in my opinion. When you pay that little, I was expecting MUCH worse. For 3 nights, we paid roughly $250 for one room, double beds, 2 adults, 3 teenagers. We bought a cot from Walmart (4 miles away) for $50 for our son (Tip: This Walmart closes at 10, it is not a 24 hour Supercenter). The room was worn but it had been cleaned, bed sheets were clean, no bedbugs! AC worked perfectly. Low water pressure with toilet, shower water pressure was pretty good. Everything worked, much to my surprise. Small flat screen TV with HBO. Tracey at the front desk was awesome, I called to let them know we would be there much later than check-in time (4:30pm), she was very nice. She even scored us a room with microwave and microfridge, which wasn't available when I made reservations. Be mindful, when making the reservations, I thought I paid for the whole stay but it did not charge me, it just used my card to hold the reservation. I don't travel much, so maybe this is the norm. They accept cash/credit. The back side is MUCH more quiet than the front, we are on the ground floor in front of the pool. Good parking. WiFi is EXTRA, and not FREE, like the sign leads you to believe. The Whitney's Field Mall/Petco/Strip Mall/places to eat are in very close walking distance. Dennys is across the street, the husband and kids are there last night and really enjoyed it. There is free coffee available in the lobby from 7a-10a, washer/dryer, ice machine also in the lobby. Kids are happy, Husband is happy, and I am happy with our choice, we are on a tight budget and we are not hard to please. Picky people will probably not like it here. For people who said it wasn't safe, for us (I can only speak of my experience) for a very paranoid Mother who is 11 + hours away from home, I actually felt safe and slept just fine. It was sketchy at first, after reading previous reviews, but apparently a ton of college kids were here and I was worried at first but we had no problems, I wasn't scared to open the door or run to the car. read more

after a bad experience with the super 8, we wisked away to this palace, amazing how contrast change your perceptions. at $60 and available, we were very happy with a room that was worse, far worse than our house. we're used to motels being nicer than our house! very basic room, very cheap, near fast food for breakfast. wifi is paid there were noises outside, but they appeared to be benign, and the checkin was pretty friendly and helpful, or so it seemed. no bed bugs. no rats, and no bugs. read more

We made a reservation in advance for a queen room, but it reeked of cigarette smoke (100% smoke free?!) so they moved us to a double room that smelled like an entire hockey team and all of their gear was decomposing in it. We were very tired and really wanted to take a hot shower and go to sleep, but the smell was so bad we couldn't. Finally they put us in an odor free double room. It was small and sparsely furnished, but met our basic needs though we weren't thrilled with the choice between sleeping in separate beds or sharing one double bed. We were just happy to finally be able to breathe and sleep in the same room... until we tried to use the bathroom. Apparently we were put in a handicapped room, which meant the highest point the shower head could reach was my shoulder and even then the holder was loose and drooped slowly until the head fell out and hit me, so my boyfriend and I had to hold the shower head up for each other while we washed! The worst part was that for the first couple of minutes the water ran dark brown, then light brown, then rust colored until finally clear- it was so bad there was a greasy orange stain left in the basin. (It was like a scene out of a movie, I didn't think that really happened!) The towels were like sandpaper, and had several different human hairs in them that were definitely not ours, but they smelled faintly of bleach so I figured they were at least sanitary. When we finally made it to bed the sheets were rough, but clean and we slept well despite the fact that his feet overhung the end of the bed by a several inches. The icing on the cake came the next morning when housekeeping banged on the door so loudly and aggressively that it sounded like we were being raided by the FBI. It was extreme, to the point that we both jumped out of bed and my hands were shaking I was so startled. We asked the woman to go away because we were sleeping and still had plenty of time before checkout, but a couple minutes later she did it again! That was my breaking point. I went to the office and complained to the manager who did sincerely apologize and assured me he would speak with the housekeeper and discounted my rate, but in the end I think we would have been better off sleeping in the car at a highway rest stop. I mean that sincerely. I have to mention though, that with the obvious exception of the housekeeper, the staff was very gracious and courteous throughout our ordeal and this alone kept this from being a one star rating. read more
