The Fairfield Inn is a pink building with no other building close to it. It is next to the road, but you wouldn't know from the rooms. The parking lot is a little small, but Ilno issues on the night I stayed. The lobby has a bar and place to watch TV. I can't speak for how it is as a bar, but on checkout they had the water the breakfast room was lacking. The breakfast room was otherwise full with all the staples - eggs, cheese, coffee, etc. Except cold water. The room was very clean - I stayed in a long, and although the bed was a little high, was pretty comfortable. I prefer a firmer mattress. There was a couch and table for dinner, and the TV had a reasonable amount of cable channel. There was also a coffee machine in room. Bathroom was also clean with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Like all hotel showers, the hot and cold was not intuitive. Also it had plenty of towels for just me. read more

Very weird experience. I wanted to stay an extra night. I stay in hotels all the time and this is always accomplished through a simple phone call. I went to the front desk as I knew I would need a new key. I had my room key and credit card, but the manager insisted on seeing my ID even though he could have easily verified who I was with the information in question. I shook my head, said "this is unbelievable" and went to get my key. When I returned, the manager was visibly angry and tried to provoke a confrontation, which I ignored. This is what happens when good hotels franchise their operations out to angry and untrained people who are too lazy to do their jobs. This guy is a problem waiting to happen. Route 20 isn't exactly a major thoroughfare, so this property location seems a little odd. I don't quite know why it's here. But here it is and it was inexpensive compared to others in the Marlborough. The hotel has a few ballroom/meeting rooms set up including one that is used as overflow for the free breakfast. The breakfast is nothing particularly special but it is consistent across the Fairfield chain with scrambled eggs, some sort of breakfast meat (something pork and something not pork), yogurts, breads and a toaster, coffee and juice. It's not great, but it is good. My room on the third floor was quiet and comfortable with a firm mattress and a work table that had enough electrical outlets to power my devices. The room cleaning was good too. Wifi was terrible in the evening hours, but my T-Mobile had four bars so I was able to use that for backup. Overall, a good property. I'm a fan. read more

Hotel is clean and was convenient. However, the walls and floors are extremely thin. Didn't appreciate having TWO dogs above my room horsing around at 6am. Just inconsiderate in my opinion. Also heard a quick bark in the middle of the night. I'd prob try a different place in the future . read more

This is such a wonderful Inn. Everything from booking over the phone with their Customer Service, the Staff on the premises, to the lovely appointed rooms, cleanliness and QUIET. The Exterior is charming and perfectly constructed for the area which includes some wonderful historic landmarks of early New England/Boston area. The Old Gristmill, Country Store, Wayside Inn are just a few miles away. The room charge(s) are reasonable, I think higher in the Summer months but still reasonable in my opinion and in all seasons they include a really nice breakfast - oatmeal, juices, coffee, eggs, breakfast sandwiches, cold cereal and more. There are also some restaurants nearby that the staff there can tell you about that deliver. There's also a restaurant a few doors down from the Country Store (the Store is with some other stores) that offers a to-die for Burger and fries - no delivery that I know of. The only suggestion I might make is to change out the bath towels so they're not so rough. I of course don't expect them to be super fancy but maybe softer? But, honestly, this suggestion is being nit-picky because if you're planning a trip to the area, THIS is where you should stay!! read more

This is the quietest hotel I've ever stayed in. You'd get five stars just for that even if something else was wrong, it's easily the thing I care about most. Most of the rest of the stay was generically pleasant and unremarkable, though, so nothing was even wrong. The one thing I want to remark on is the service, which was exemplary - I saw three different front desk workers while I was there (at respectively 1am, ~noon, and 10pm - guessing we managed to hit all three shifts?) and they were all extremely competent, helpful, friendly, and generally everything you could ask of a hotel front desk person. read more

Best Fairfield I've ever stayed in by far. It easily outranks many more expensive hotels and was a welcomed retreat after a long day of travel. The location is near the Wayside Inn complex which is a beautiful example of New England's best. The hotel is tastefully decorated in traditional New England style. Breakfast was included and while fairly standard fare, it was fresh and nicely presented in a peaceful dining area. Service was outstanding. We will return if ever in the area. read more

My husband and I got married in August at Wayside Inn, just a mile away. Since almost all my guests were coming from out of town, I set up a room block for the wedding guests at Fairfield Inn. (We had too many people to fit at Wayside Inn.) We stayed there before and after the wedding as well. Trish, the salesperson who I worked with, couldn't have been nicer. The whole weekend, I kept having guests approach me to tell me how I chose such a great hotel. Everyone loved it! Rooms were clean and comfortable, breakfast was great, and the staff are very nice. I'm not gluten-free, but we noticed they have Udi's brand gf muffins, etc. at breakfast. They provide a free shuttle to Wayside Inn as well. We appreciated the 24/7 coffee in the lobby when I woke up at 4am to get my hair done. Highly recommend. read more

It was great to stay here at this hotel in the suburbs of boston. It's a smaller hotel with a smaller parking lot. Upon arrival I picked up my keys after mobile checking in via the Marriott App. The Room was great, big bathroom, tv is flat screen and the overall room is modern. The door does not close shut sometimes, and you need to shut the door manually. The walls are a bit thin but I turn on the fan on the HVAC to filter. Also take a room facing away from the street for a quieter sleep. Breakfast is great with lots of choices. Lots of room to sit down too. read more

We had our wedding at the Wayside Inn and stayed at the Fairfield Inn down the road. We had a block of about 12 rooms and everyone enjoyed their stay. The staff was wonderful and the rooms were very nice. Their complimentary breakfast was good and it was a convenient way to meet up with everyone in our group that was staying there. I live close by so I can't imagine another occasion I'll need a hotel room in Sudbury but I would highly recommend this hotel to other people. read more

I booked Fairfield Inn through my travel time-share points. Excellent service: front desk very helpful and friendly (Sanjeev), complimentary breakfast is good with fresh fruit, English muffins, breads/toaster, fresh oatmeal, cereals, pork & turkey sausage, bacon, yogurts, coffee, tea, and soy milk. Debbie & Yolanda had a greeting and "hello" for every guests at every breakfast. Room cleanup was punctual and orderly (Paul Mitchell toiletries). Lobby always had fruit-infused water in the p.m. and coffee/tea service all day. I'll return to this hotel when in the area. read more

Do not book this hotel for an event. We attended a wedding and the bride asked us to share a special moment after the wedding with her in a hotel room. There were less than 10 people in one hotel room chatting and the hotel called the police for a noise violation. I have planned many events in hotels previously and have never encountered the amount of ignorance and rudeness in the staff at this hotel. read more

This hotel was perfectly suited for all of our needs. We were traveling with a lacrosse team from the east coast, so we needed spacious rooms, full breakfast included, space for team meetings or lunches/snacks, and easy access to Boston. The Fairfield Inn met these expectations and provided stellar service. The front desk staff gave us fantastic recommendations for food nearby, which also delivered to the hotel, and they let us use the breakfast room for these team meals. The cleaning staff had their hands full with 20 plus lacrosse boys, but the rooms had fresh towels and when we needed extra sheets or pillows, they were quick to respond. Everyone was always very pleasant and helpful and the hotel was very nicely appointed and super clean. read more
