I had gotten a late start from El PasoTX-USA, which precluded my stopping/overnighting in helpful HachitaNM-USA [Southern World HQ for the CDT; see either JEFF there! (It's also a critical stop for East-West cross-country cyclists who want to stay closer to the border with ¡MAGNIFICENT MEXICO!)], so I sped West on I-10, getting to the Westernmost large community in New Mexico. I've overnighted in this thriving gateway before biketouring/motoring onto or from: Silver City/Hachita/Animus/Rodeo/Douglas-Agua Prieta/Deming/Willcox/Chiricahua National Monument/Paradise/etc. Now, I needed a bed for a quick/good night's rest on my way back to the Bay Area, and I often go to where they leave the light on for me: Motel 6. I was lucky that receptionist NICOLAS was on duty; he checked me into the last room available, though I would happily have given it up to an immigrant family on the run [These are terrifying times under TREASONOUS/"divider-in-chief"/(USA)Constitution-trampling DJT]. Anyway, it was a much-needed stop, and certainly met my requirements: TV-remote/mini fridge/microwave excellent bed-mattress/ice. In fact, I lived a bit better this night because I was able to buy a few provisions at the fabulous Saucedo Market just before they closed. I really like this community; several years ago, while biketouring through, I was able to make critical bike repairs on my beloved Doublevision with parts from the Second Chance Lumber shop! This was not our first choice but it was the first hotel that had availability between two towns. It was late and we were desperate. For what it was, it could have been a whole lot worse. I cannot remember what time we checked in, I want to say it was after midnight. We just wanted a place to sleep and shower. Luckily, parking was available close to our room. Unfortunately, we had a bunch of stuff to take in so they wouldn't melt or they were valuables. I must admit, I am always anxious when entering a hotel room of this tier because you really never know how bad it can be and nobody gives a crap about it. Surprisingly enough, we have stayed in way worse of a place. It was late and we just wanted to settle in and get ready for bed but everything looked pretty normal and decent. The room was warmer than I would have liked but we were able to get some rest. I am not even sure if there was a breakfast included because we were way too tired to even care in the morning. The shower was okay but honestly, I cannot remember a time where a shower was perfect in a hotel room. For the price and availability, it was not bad. It was definitely not my first choice but not horrible for this tier of hotel. read more

Love this throwback kind of motel. Not your typical Motel 6 as it is all single story with large/long rooms that feel like individual accommodations. Each room has either a Queen bed or two Full beds with a fridge and a microwave. Easy to park in front of your own room and there is also parking for larger vehicles like RVs, trucks, etc. There are places to eat literally right next door and across the street. We always patronize the convenience store directly across the street. The people in the front office are friendly and helpful with knowledge of the local area. We've stayed here a few times as a stop on our way to somewhere further into New Mexico or even Texas, but most recently stayed when we attended the Hidalgo County Fair in Lordsburg itself. Always a comfortable stay with a nice hot shower and a TV full of channels. Hard to go wrong with that. read more

Would not recommend....attempted to stay here for an overnight quick stay while traveling from CA to FL with my dog. This motel is right next to an abandoned dilapidated gas station which was eerie and reflective of the area. Decided to proceed against my better judgement....the entire place was very old and just had a general sketchy vibe. Lordsburg itself felt really abandoned and in general I didn't really feel safe at this motel. There was a man riding around on an old bike in the parking lot that looked homeless and maybe scouting for unlocked cars. Who knows. Told myself I'd be fine and just needed a place to sleep. The room was old, musty, and looked clean to the eye but just didn't feel clean. I moved my mattress onto the floor so my older dog wouldn't have to jump, and out came the bugs including a cockroach. That was the deal breaker. On the plus side, the man at the front was so sweet and apologetic and refunded my money without question. Five stars for service and kindness. I love this motel 6 because it's really clean. The bathroom was on tip top shape. The employees were nice at the counter, and the area around the motel and office were clean. The "we will leave the light on' took a new meaning last night. The light was not the only thing that was lit. I am extremely sensitive to Marijuana smell. It hit me like a wall when I entered the building to check in. I had to take my room key back twice because it would not open the door. He finally gave me a different room and the key worked. The elderly man never made eye contact with me and did not apologize for the messed up key situation. (I can say that because I am almost 70) When I pulled the covers back on the first bed it looked as if it had been slept in. Not freshly made at all. Attaching photo of the bed. Two stars for the incredibly gross bathroom; other people's hair and such. We waited to shower at our next stop. That said, the bedding, DirectTV, fridge, and microwave functioned as expected. No coffee pot, nor breakfast but the lobby does have complimentary coffee in the early morning. Assuredly, we will never be back. read more

We canceled our motel 6 for the next few states and will never be staying with this chain again. They are so dirty and disappointing. My family wouldn't let me take pictures of their room because it was just embarrassing. We will be seeking our money back. There's no reason to have SO MANY HAIRS EVERYWHERE!!!!! Upon getting to our room we found what looked to be blood stains on the bed sheets, trash on the floor, and hair in the tub and sink.

This has to be the worst hotel in New Mexico , don't stay here the maids don't clean anything dirt on the floor bugs in the rooms black widows , rat poop , the chairs have stains on them I literally changed rooms 4 times I had her show me every vacant room on the property all the rooms where dirty , really filthy , the reception staff is nice but there rooms are horrible don't stay here !!!! Check in was easy. Front desk was very attentive and friendly. Honored the Expedia price for a two-bed room. Not too crowded and quiet. Pets welcome. Wood floors so no danky carpet that holds bad smells. Room was clean and overall a good place to stay when passing through. This is the first motel 6 I've stayed in and I'm impressed. Awesome price, lots of parking, taking measures during Covid. Bed linens clean and soft, not the old static covers that itch. Soft pillows. No breakfast or coffee during the pandemic but for a good room at a more than fair price, I'm okay with that. Very clean room, extremely quiet, and felt safe. Typical motel, doesnt have the super nice amenities like breakfast, good wifi, shampoo, etc..but for a one night stay my husband, dog and I were VERY comfortable. We got to pack our car right in front of our room, AC worked very well, it was so quiet (which was nice after 12 hours of driving), the beds were pretty comfortable, and they offer a military discount, plus a no pet fee. I give it at least a one star for the modern look of the hotel and the counter lady!! Room looked clean and presentable we got into to bed. Our adult daughter was traveling with us so we got a room with two beds, one of the beds seemed ok but the second bed that my wife and I slept on was broken! It cracked, squeaked and made all kind if noises but I said I can deal with the noise because I was tired as I rolled into my bed I kept rolling towards the center the mattress had a caved in center!!! And sunk about a foot!!! I called the front desk and asked for another room and the front counter lady said that they were all sold out. I asked for a refund and the lady said that would be possible. Approximately 10 minutes latter I get a call from a person with an Indian accent telling me that these rooms get rented everyday and that we just have to deal with it and that if I wanted I could leave! I told him that I understand that that rooms are used everyday but that someone needs to inspect the beds and provide maintenance to them since this is what their business is all about renting beds!! He got upset and said that I could stay if I wanted but he was not gonna refund me my money or give me another room since they were sold out!! NOTE; LAST PICTURE IS OF THE OTHER BED THIS ROOM HAS AND ITS OK. If you stay at this hotel beware of room 32 has a broken bed!!! read more

This is definitely a "Motel 6". Ensure that you check for crickets, as the doors to several rooms aren't sealed well. Due to this issue, the insects find an in room sanctuary from the heat and beaming sun. Once they make their way into the room under the door they don't leave. I don't blame them either. Outside of the free protein snacks, the room is ok. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean with nice water pressure and temperature. Its a one niter location IMHO. read more

I stayed at the location in Lordsburg, New Mexico, on June 15, 2019, with a check in time of approximately 9:15 PM. I entered the room, and went to bed, at approximately 10:30 PM. At 10:45 PM, I felt things crawling on my legs and back. Within seconds, I felt 2 bites on my left leg behind my calf muscle and on my thigh. I pulled the sheets back and saw several brown little bugs in the bed on the sheet. I also saw a large black ant near my left leg. I immediately got dressed and went to the office to let the owner / manager know what had happened and to request a refund. I showed the owner the bite mark on the back of my calf and asked him to come to the room to view the bugs that were presently on the sheet. He became irate and insisted that his hotel did not have bedbugs. He went on to tell me that when I open the door to go into the room I must have let bugs into the room and that is how they got into the bed on the sheet. I took photos of the bugs, and checked out of the room, without receiving my refund. read more

My wife, dog, and I were in the middle of a cross country drive and needed a place to stay in this sparsely-populated part of the world. We read some reviews and decided to give it a try. It met our expectations: no more, no less. I'm at odds with some of the other reviews here. We found our room, while economically furnished, to be clean and comfortably appointed with single king bed, television, refrigerator, microwave, table and two chairs. However, to bring about the cost savings this place offers, cuts have been made. The first and most obvious is in the complimentary travel items. We were provided precisely two small bars of Motel 6 soap, no shampoo, or other supplies typically found in a hotel. The place is definitely pet friendly. There was no pet fee and the receptionist didn't even blink when I told her that we were traveling with a dog. Our pup seems to have gotten a good night sleep as well. Be a little careful checking in late. We checked in at about 9:00pm and the two adjacent restaurants were already closed for the night. Was passing through this town as a hiker on the CDT. the bed had long hair in it from somebody other than me in the sheets. They gave me one bar of soap and no shampoo. No tissues in the tissue container.and the owner wanted me to leave the room so they can clean it every day even though I wanted to stay there more than two days. The only con about our room was that our bed was squeaky and felt like if our kids would jump on it or a couple wanted to be intimate , that it would break apart . I was very surprised when I walked in to my room. This place is very clean and simple. Hardwood floors are very nice touch. Everything looks fresh including the paint on the walls. My husband and I had a room with a king bed. The bed is very nice and came with 5 fluffy pillows. Nice, clean little fridge and microwave. Large vanity with sink and plenty of counter space. There is also a nice sink inside the large bathroom. Single story, plenty of parking. AC works great, very cold. Wifi has great signal in room. There is even a little breakfast table in the room. But room is good size so feels spacy. Pool was closed in October because of the season, which doesn't make sense cause its pretty hot here. Front desk staff didn't seem very happy. Wasn't rude or anything just not cheerful. Cost for the two of us, one king bed, one night, in October 2017 was $60 + tax. read more

Stayed here when traveling across the country. The rate was decent and the staff friendly. The standard double room was spacious and comfortable, but the bathroom was dirty - obvious hair on the toilet. The towels were typical scratchy. The fridge was a necessity and much appreciated, as was the free ice. The noisy neighbors leaving at 530am killed my morning with music, slamming doors and diesel truck. The motel was convenient, right off the interstate. It was extremely easy to check in. The room was very clean and large. The price was right and they excepted my dog. The restaurant was next door, yummy options and very easy to order from. The thing that got me to write my first yelp is that I left my diamond ring on the counter when I left. I didn't notice it missing for 6 hours. I called the motel and they had it. They also sent it to me immediately. That was above and beyond my expectations. read more
