This is a nice little rest area. There are shaded areas and covered picnic tables. You can view the information boards. It has an area for pets to do their business. The restroom I went into has 4 stalls, of which one is for Handicap.Clean restroms. Doors are maybe 3 ft long and are placed at about 5'2" at the top, interesting for privacy. There were vending machines with drinks and snacks. If you are headed west and need a quick place to stretch, this is more than decent. I prefer Travel Centers, but this was good. Travel on safely! Obey the speed limit, there were Police cars down the road.

Not one of the restrooms are open. Not cool.

Located just a few miles from the AZ, NM border, this is a beautiful looking rest stop that has a spacious dog park area where your furry ones can roam. There are also some vending machines there, which accept both cash and credit/debit cards. Unfortunately, during my visit, there seemed to be a septic tank problem, which meant that all of the bathrooms were closed. Thankfully, I didn't need to go bad enough, and I was able to move on to the next rest stop. Still, it's a beautiful area, and there are some nice photo opportunities at the very least.

I think Arizona provides much better facilities compared to many other states IMHO. This was one of the nicer rest areas I ever used during all of my travels in the US. It was that good, and we really appreciated it very much. This facility is very close to AZ/NM boarder. If anyone has used any NM rest areas, you certainly know how this one is a much better one. The warning sign for poisonous snakes and insects are somewhat disheartening, but fortunately I didn't witness any of these critters while I was there. Since there's a nice pet area, you want to make sure your pets will not encounter any of these pests for their safety and yours. Thanks Arizona for providing a very nice and clean rest area!

One of three rest stop 'stops' on a road trip crossing Arizona. A basic rest area with restrooms and a few vending machines behind heavy gauge wire gates. Clean restrooms and grounds. Groomed and cared for regularly. Area information posted along with emergency contact instructions that include specific location. A pet poop area; gravel and rock, no grass or vegetation for comfortable K9 movements. My pup had a tough time relieving in such terrain. Be safe, drive smart, and take frequent breaks.

The San Simon Rest area is close to the Arizona/ New Mexico border. It's very clean and pet friendly, an area is designated for pet exercise to prevent poisonous snakes. The view of the mountains is beautiful. At night, bats fly over the lights.

As a traveller, my preferred method is biketouring upon my Doublevision, but often use other means:…read moretrains/trolleys/planes/(motor)vehicles/etc. It was the occasion of a quick family reunion in Los AngelesCA-USA which necessitated the need for a motor vehicle West on I-10 from home inn El PasoTX-USA. Whilst prepping my truck for the 700mile/960km trip, I had knocked the schrader valve needle ajar, causing a whisper of an air leak. My solution was to cap it; no more sound, no more leak. However, my most favorite son was driving when the idiot light came on, alerting him to pull off at the next exit with services. This superior site not only had free air (once we figured out how to operate the nozzle), but he also made the small adjustment to the needle--no more leakage, however minor! The next most important feature was that of nutrition, and server Rayleen in the Subway sandwiches area. Please understand that significance of this super Subway; both my favorite son and his fiancee are vegetarian and Subway is my number one choice of foodstops when biketouring. In fact, Subway is the third photo in my 4th book when I biketoured between El Paso & Houston in 2011! This reflects upon another aspect of this terrific Travel Center: it is at a critical location for when I eventually biketour this route--the shoulder of I-10 is quite useful (and often the only available route) rural road for bicycles transiting the Southern tier of the USA, although some sections (urban) are unacceptable. The most notable unacceptable section is between Texas exit 72 and New Mexico exit 139. However, this gap is extremely well made up for by the "International Ft. Hancock-Las Cruces I-10 Bicycle Bypass" ; which is even more enhanced with your valid passport (greatly facilitates re-entry into the USA) as you pedal through this "Hidden Gem of the World, Crossroads of North America, anchored by El Paso, Cd. Juarez & Las Cruces!" (additional details available at my website: www.juanitohayburg.com) Whatever you do, you can count on excellent vehicle service and needed nutrition at this fantastic Travel Center! It certainly has my "Wheel of Approval!"

Had the call been earlier we probably would have changed hotels but it was a little late to find a place at that point. I was assuted someone would help with luggage. So we agreed to climb to the third floor. There was no one to assist with luggage When I entered the room I went to adjust the thermostat on the air conditioning system and the cover for the controls fell off in my hand. It was broken. Then I went into the bathroom and found there was no toilet paper holder. It had been pulled from the wall and removed from the room. When I advised the desk clerk that the holder was missing she said she would note it for maintenance. I think maintenance already knew or would have still been in the room. The bed must have been in that room for 15 years to have depressions as deep as it does. Likewise the pillows are little balls of something that are not very comfortable. There are no longer any amenities in the room such as makeup mirrors. We ask for at the front desk for a mirror but there were not available. It's as if the rooms have been stripped of all the things that used to be there for the convenience of the traveler. Primarily because of the elevator when we checked in we asked it was possible to get a discount on the room. We were advised that it would be difficult since we had paid in advance but that she would check with the manager. When I called about the toilet paper holder being missing again requested a discount because of the condition of the room and the elevator I got the same sndwer. At this point I've heard from no one about anything. None of these things would have been true in any of the Hampton inns I've stayed in before. It was very disappointing and my last day in a Hampton Inn.
