There's so much I hate about this place. It is disgusting, dirty, in poor shape and NOT SAFE! Here's the worst of my list: -Trash, including broken glass everywhere. I hated taking my dogs for a walk because there was no safe ground to walk on. -Noise all hours of the day, people drunk and fighting. Don't expect to sleep. -Bugs and gnats constantly coming out of my sink -WiFi doesn't work. Don't select the pay option. So, I'll explain my stay. It was for around 30 days due to work. It was ok at first. Then crowds of people checked in. I'm 99% sure it's a group of Romanian Gypsies. Just look at the pictures I'm posting. They are everywhere! They let their kids run around all over the place, banging on doors and windows. They congregate, and when you try to walk through, they won't even move to let you by. They are loud. Constant yelling, fighting and no regard for others. They have way too many people per room. Beds pushed together and 6-7 kids sleeping while they leave their doors open. The drunken fights started just a few days ago, and I feel more unsafe than ever. I have to walk through the crowds with my 2 little dogs and get yelled at when the dogs bark because the kids are trying to grab them. I know it's not Motel 6's fault for the people who stay here, but there needs to be some control over these issues. It isn't worth saving money on a room when you have to deal with the stress of this.

Do not stay here, after waking up in the middle of the night I was greeted by cockroaches in the room I was able to kill one get a picture and they would still not issue a refund. The front desk was argumentative and said no refund they don't care how disgusting the room was . Other than cockroaches it had mold and was disgustingly dirty. Do not stay unless it is very literally the very last choice and even then you are probably better off in your car.

Don't. Just don't. Thank me later. I have traveled frequently all over the country and this by far has been the most disgusting and utterly horrifying place I've stayed. Not only is it uncomfortable beyond belief, I do I not feel safe in Room 115 of this building. In fact, due to the sheer severity of uncleanliness in this motel I would feel safer sleeping in my car and that's saying something. At least I know that much is clean. I rarely complain and after driving 10 hrs with a cat at 2am I didn't have much choice and was too tired to fight it. I almost went back to the front desk to request a clean room but was so exhausted I just stayed dressed and tried to fall asleep. This place should be inspected for what I assume are numerals health code violations. I took pictures and video of everything this morning, including but not limited to; smears, stains, tears, and crumbs in the beds, on the nightstands, countertops; some dark liquid dripping from the walls in multiple places, broken lamps/shoddy electrical work; musty dust and smoke smell blasting through the vents; and worst of all, broken hinges on the doors. The metal hinge lock AND the dead bolt hardware was nearly pulled clean off. I will never, and I mean never, stay at a place like this again and not even entertain another Motel 6 no matter how desperate the circumstances. I feel cheated out of 70 some dollars because it didn't even do its basic function of providing rest for a weary, cross-country traveller. In the morning I also realized the TV doesn't even get a signal. Don't waste your money, I'll take my chances in the car next time, beats leaving with bacteria and bugs.

    Toilet paper in bathroom

Right off the bat pulling into the parking lot I noticed a lot of noisy people who appeared to be living there long term. Children riding on scooters who were swearing at us as we got out of the car. Staff seemed friendly enough, and check in was easy. Got to our room and it appeared neat at first glance. Then we noticed the counters and tables were falling apart, the microwave had bugs in it and the shower had sewer flies. We checked the beds for bed bugs and luckily it looks like we managed to avoid that. There was old toilet paper stuffed into corners in the bathroom, almost like paper mache in an attempt to cover something up. The towels were threadbare and all we got was a bar of soap. Honestly we could have dealt with all of that for the few nights we spent there but on the second night a cockroach crawled out from under the microwave and went INTO IT when I went to take my food out. We noped right out of there, and getting a refund was easier than I thought. They didn't even seemed fazed. I guess that's what we get for trying to save a couple bucks!!

Almost sure that's a bed bug.....

Bruh. I get that this is a MOTEL 6. But this is really bad. I'm usually a cheapskate, scratch that, I try to be conscience of my money, so I figured for $41 my expectations were not high. HOWEVER, I did expect my room to be vacuumed but it definitely wasn't. This is how my stay went..... I checked in at 5pm on Sunday November 15,2020. They put me on room 134. The floors were gross and obviously not cleaned. Okay whatever, I'm not sleeping on the floor anyways, I'll let it slide. As I'm inspecting the rest of the room, I find more debris, dead bugs, spider webs, dust, etc. The thing that turned me into a Karen, and complained to the front desk, was when I found a BED BUG in my room. A really live bed bug. I was disgusted, immediately went to the front desk and told him my findings, he was extremely dismissive, almost annoyed and gave me a new room. No apologies, no nothing. Just "you're in room 221 now." Okay.... thanks, I guess? I go to room 221, and it's even dirtier!!!!! Not sure if it was rodent poop but those little dark pebble looking things was all over the floor. But no bed bugs in that room. Okay whatever. It's freaking 28 degrees outside and I'm trying to turn on the heater, but guess what? IT DOESN'T work! So, I had to take my cold ass back to the front desk and tell him that my heater wasn't working. He rolls his eyes and says "come on, I'll help you," as if I'm too stupid to use a GD heater.... he gets to the room and starts pressing all these buttons on the heater and he still can't get it to work. He stared at it puzzled and then finally offered me a new room, again, for the 3rd time. Room 347. Not as dirty as the other rooms and the heater actually works this time. I finally feel okay to grab my bag out of my car to bring it into the room. I go get it, come back, and MY CARD KEY DOESN'T WORK. I had to go to front desk AGAIN to tell the front desk my key isn't working. The lady(at this point, there was a shift change), puts the card into her machine and hands me back the same card. I go back to the room and the damn key STILL doesn't work... I had to GO BACK TO THE FRONT DESK, and she had to escort me to the room with her master key. She tried the key she gave me and it still didn't work. So I am key-less. It is now 1am and I am cold, annoyed, and exhausted. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY, TIME, and SANITY AND STAY SOME WHERE ELSE!!! The cheap rate is NOT worth the headache!!!!

Our stay here added additional "lore" to our already planes trains and automobiles like experience with the infamous ORD airport. In our delirious desperation we chose to retreat to this hotel, which from the outside, is unassuming but unfortunately there is more than meets the eye. While returning from our vacation, and ill equipped, as many travelers are, I stood with vigilance outside in my shorts and sandals in 20 degree weather. However, my waiting proved fruitless as I was informed that the shuttle comes by only once an hour while all others have come roughly 5 times. Naturally we waited another 25 minutes for the shuttle which of course was crammed with all of those with our same misfortune. Check in was a breeze aside from the fact that because of the shuttle schedule the one person up front is unable to check in all 20 of us at the same time thus leading to a long line. After check in we saw our rooms. Because of how many people were in my party we got two rooms. Upon entering the first room, we field stripped the beds to search for bed bugs which came back negative for bugs. The tile however was a different story. Reports of water being underneath the floor and thus squirted from the gaps between the tile came from some members of my group. In my rooms bathroom the towels had strands of hair and black specks littered across the surface. But unbeknownst to me a crime scene awaited me through the door. Upon examination my shower appeared to be the scene of an execution with blood or a similar substance smeared on the walls and floor. I wish I was kidding. After being awake for 45 hours dealing with the nightmare at O'Hare I was ready to sleep so I pulled the sheets back to reveal hair of all varieties littering my sheets which was accompanied by many stains. Stains... Oh! Now that I mention it that reminds me that the blue couch in my room had inconspicuous white stains all over it making certain spots literally look like the couch had polka dots on it. After attempting to decontaminate my bed as much as possible with the tools available, I slept in the cesspool bed. When I woke up I ate "breakfast", which is a strong word for what was provided. Breakfast consisted of what was later determined to be eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, and pancakes. The eggs had the texture of playground rubber and the other things were DOA so to speak as they were undercooked and cold. And this brings our journey to a close... oh wait I lied. After returning to my room from breakfast the fire alarm went off repeatedly. I later learned this was a test which would have been good to know beforehand. After the alarm went off I quickly packed my things to leave not because of panic from the possibility of fire but because I was literally itching to get out of there.

The hotel entrance after the revolving doors is stunning. I went to my co-workers hotel room to drop off my gear and it was very clean. Spacious rooms and the bathroom mirror had an embedded TV. We headed to breakfast where the food was in the hallway and the dining was in the big event room where main speakers were going to be. The room where we had the presentation fit around 30 people in round tables. The AV guy came in to check if we were all tested and ready to go which was all set! In between sessions, the coffee area was packed with coffee, tea, water and soda. The only bad part, there was another conference and you had to pass through this area for the other conference and they were taking our coffee, drinks, etc. The venue finally out signs. We had a formal dinner but the staff seemed very rushed in everything. Before my co-worker was finished eating they were already asking him if he was finished and wanting dessert. I have never experienced such a lack of compassion and basic customer service. I was calling and translating for my father because he does not speak English. He was already exhausted and overwhelmed after a long day of traveling, and what happened made an already terrible situation so much worse. Because of the issues with United Airlines, my father had to wait THREE HOURS outside the airport for the hotel shuttle to come pick him up. Three hours. He was already dealing with canceled flights, missed connections, and an extremely long journey, and then had to stand there waiting for transportation. When he finally arrived at the hotel, the front desk experience was unbelievable. The employee was sitting on her phone and would not even begin helping until people became upset and started speaking up. And when she finally did help, there was absolutely no patience, kindness, or compassion. My father was told at the airport that because of the flight disruption, the hotel would provide him with a meal and transportation to the airport. He had not eaten since lunch. His first flight was canceled, and then his next flight arrived too late for him to make his connection, leaving him stranded in Chicago overnight. His original trip was already supposed to take around 18 hours, and now it had become even longer. I called the front desk and explained that my father had not eaten all day and asked how he could get the meal that he had been told would be provided. The response? "That's not our problem. Contact the airline." Seriously? How is my father supposed to deal with the airline when he doesn't speak English, is exhausted, stranded in a city he doesn't know, and is relying on the hotel for the assistance he was told he would receive? Then I was told that the hotel shuttle would not run until after 6 AM, but my father needed to leave around 4:30 AM for his flight. I explained again that he doesn't speak English and doesn't know how to order a taxi. The employee was clearly annoyed that she had to help him arrange one, and he now has to pay for the taxi out of his own pocket. And honestly, I'm still hoping she actually ordered it for him. I called the front desk myself because I thought maybe speaking directly with someone would finally help. Instead, they hung up on me. I called again. And again. And again. I called SEVEN TIMES before someone finally answered and said they weren't sure what happened. At this point, it isn't even about the money or the inconvenience. It's about basic human decency. My father is someone's dad. He is a person who was exhausted, hungry, stranded, unable to communicate in English, and simply trying to get through an extremely difficult travel situation. He needed a little help. He needed someone to show some compassion. Instead, he was made to feel like he was a burden. I completely understand that flight cancellations and delays are not the hotel's fault. But how you treat someone when they are vulnerable and having a terrible day says everything about your customer service. This was an incredibly upsetting experience, and I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, especially someone traveling alone or someone who doesn't speak English. And after everything my father has been through today, my experience with United Airlines has also been extremely disappointing. He deserved so much better than this
