I'm sorry to have to do this, but this was a very bad experience for me and my wife. I don't care if a place is old and even run down a little but I do care that it's clean and free of bugs. This place was not. I want to emphatically state that I did NOT find any evidence of bed bugs. It was the other bugs. Ants, some sort of flies, and the largest beetle that I've ever seen inside a building. I gave this place two stars as we were exhausted and was still able to sleep without getting bit. read more

I do not recommend this hotel. It was a very bad experience we stayed downstairs and there was two rooms across the hall that had dogs. Obviously the owners were not picking up after the dogs. The smell was absolutely horrendously horrific not to mention the nonstop barking. At least I thought we were safe from the animals in our room but it turns out I was wrong because there was rats running around freely, going into our bags and eating what little food we had on the counter. I grew up in LA and I've stayed in the worst neighborhoods in the worst hotels near Skid Row in this place into their consequences is worse. I don't want to think what was crawling around the bed. I'm sure there was all kinds of bedbugs and scabies so if you came to truth or consequences to see some wildlife just go to Motel 6 and you can have all the creepy crawlies and Rat you want..! read more

Got our room with low expectations cause it was the cheapest place around but it was pretty much the worst hotel I've been in. There was still poop in our clogged toilet from the previous guest, the sheets didn't seemed washed and the room smells like pee and cigarette smoke read more

This place motel 6 in Truth or consequences is the worst place in the world. There's cat and dog piss and poop smell up and down the hallway, rats running around and the House keeper's and management are all drugged up and straight up unprofessional and disgusting place to stay. read more

So the plus was the price and that they have smoking rooms. The front desk was friendly and quick checking me in. The room was clean. Downside was the TV did not work. The ac was just on and could not be adjusted. And last the bed was not that comfortable. read more

Beds are super uncomfortable, window has cracks that are taped up. Almost all of the doors look as if someone has broke into them, I know for sure our room was cause the swing lock has been ripped off the door and wall and there is indents that are obviously from someone prying it open. Had I known then what I know now, I would have gone somewhere else. It's obvious that the management cares nothing about traveler.... $69 got us a room with a faulty room door, extremely noisy air conditioner, and ugly room. Think about it -- paintings on the wall were crooked and couldn't be straightened... they were fixed in their crooked location. Or the fact that our room door was a 1/2 inch too small, and even when closed there was a floor to ceiling crack that let us see out and other see in.... seriously! The place is sad. I would have gone elsewhere, but I was pooped after a long day of driving. My advice -- arrive late and leave early. be as tired as possible when checking in. And, lastly don't stay more than 1 night. unless you have to. read more

If you want low prices and are willing to sacrifice quality this is the place to be. My visit cost me $62 which I think is the 2nd lowest rate in town. Only one lower is Ace Lodge at $40 - my friend stayed there though and had to leave (got his money back) because they didn't clean the room properly. Staff was friendly, didn't really have to much interaction. Called after I had been in my room for a few minutes to make sure everything was up to par. My only issue was that I had reserved a room with a "Micro-Fridge" and that's not the room I got. I'm curious if that room even exist, but it was all the same price in the end. Old and loud air conditioner, but walls are thin so it helps prevent you from hearing other tenants - plus it did get the room nice and cold. TVs are still standard old ones from 10 years ago, not digital. Bed and other furniture isn't very comfortable. Chairs feel like you're in a grade school library and the table is very small. In the end, for the price, it's not a bad Motel. We didn't have any issues that wouldn't make us come back again, but if you want higher quality probably have to pay about 40 bucks more in this town. read more

The manager uses cuss words to the public I reserved a room on Expedia and the manager saw I had more people in another car and cussed at me telling me hes not giving me the room because i told them 2 adults and two children. Was staying there. In fact there was only going to be 1 adult and 2 kids. He refused to give my money back then he started to cuss more and more in front of a 4 year old and i asked to speak to the owner he told me he was the owner which hes clearly not. Great value. As a long haul traveler, I really appreciate the little things. Clean room, gracious host, bath tub with seemingly endless hot water. The fridge was a bonus for my veggies . The area is nice and quiet too. Definitely will be one of my saved places. read more

We had an overnight stay while visiting the Butte so we booked two rooms. We were not happy with our experience AT ALL. While the rate was good and wasn't too far from the lake and some restaurants and shops, it wasn't worth our stay. My biggest complaint is that my room did not have a room key. I was given keys and when they didn't work, I was told that it was a hard key and the person went to get it from (I'm assuming) the owner or manager. The woman let me in the room and said that they wouldn't give me the key because there is only one copy. She then proceeded to tell me that if we needed to leave the room, one person needed to stay in the room at all times so that we don't get locked out because they were going to bed and couldn't let us in our room if we did get locked out. I was appalled about the customer service and the lack of consideration. Other complaints: 1. The door to the room looked like it was part of a burglary because the door from both sides was incredibly damaged and looked like it had been kicked in. 2. My brother's room had a booger in the sink. 3. There were bugs in my bathroom. 4. The hairdryer would only stay on for about 30 second intervals before overheating. 5. There is very poor sound insulation and we could hear everything from doors slamming and conversations from neighbors and passersby. 5. The shower curtain wasn't installed properly so it wouldn't stay shut on either side and hung in the middle of the rod so there ended up being water all over the bathroom. 6. The towel racks were cubbies. It didn't affect us because we were only staying overnight, but putting towels in cubbies doesn't allow them to dry properly. 7. The hotel had a very strong scent of curry. read more

You get what you pay for...is all I can say about this place. 43.00 with aarp card. If I could've drove further I would have. However, the staff was eager to please so thats why I gave it 2 stars. Otherwise, I would've gave it 1 star. The owner needs to update the beds badly, old tvs, but hey we got free wifi. Dont stay unless you have to. Honestly, I booked this place online because I like staying at Motel 6s normally. But I pulled up to this place and initiate my thought about canceling. It looked very run down. But I said, maybe it's just the outside. So I walked in to se what it looked like. I was not impressed, it had a stench coming from the building and the inside looked just as run down as the outside. I still went up to the counter to talk to the lady working. I said I had a reservation for that night. She began to tell me that unfortunately that room that we reserved didn't have a working key. She said that whenever we left the room, in order to get back in we had to stop by the front desk and have them let us in... At this moment I decided I had to cancel my reservation.. Nothing against the lady, but I couldn't stay in a building where I had no control over who came into my room, and I didn't even have access to the room myself... I would not recommend this Motel 6! read more

My husband and I are Motel 6 fans, have stayed in Motel 6 for years literally from coast-to-coast and have enjoyed rooms from acceptable to outstanding. We weren't traveling with our dog this time, but in the past we preferred Motel 6 because of their open and generous pet policy. We stayed one night at Motel 6 in Truth or Consequences on our way to a visit to Albuquerque. We don't expect elegance, just a decent place to stay without paying for over-priced real estate. But this Motel 6 was the worst I've ever seen. The building was in a state of disrepair, it reeked of stale cigarette smoke wherever you walked, the furnishings looked like something the thrift store threw out. The staff and manager, Lorena, are lovely people who will go out of their way to be helpful. They will give you 20% off coupon for Denny's which is walking distance from the hotel. The housekeepers probably try to clean the hallways and the rooms, but the building is so old and so decrepit that no amount of scrubbing would make it clean. We should have just left as soon as we discovered our "non-smoking" room had such strong odors of cigarette smoke and ??? because I spent the next two days wheezing, but we figured, "Well, it's only overnight". After that one overnight, I'm afraid this Motel 6 will never be on our agenda again. Homeless people hang out in the area, but apparently have the good sense not to stay here. A flop house in the slums would be safer and have better amenities. Our recommendation: either stay in one of the other T or C hotels, or keep driving. I feel badly for the very nice staff because working day in and day out in that environment cannot possibly be good for their health and certainly there are safety hazards. The only reason this hotel gets two stars is because of the staff. Tom Bodett would be ashamed if he saw this very poor representation of Motel 6 quality. read more

My experience at this motel has tainted me for motel 6's everywhere! Drunk people fighting outside the door, extremely loud the first night, bugs, such as very large spiders on the bed. . . Then second day a mouse runs over my feet and headed for my suitcase!! I checked out and forgot my charger in the room. I go back later to retrieve it and the guy who cleaned my room had taken it home!!! Management had to make him go get it and give it back to me. . And in response to being told there was a mouse in my room, I was told. . . Well there is a big field very close to us!!! No bueno!! read more

I cannot disagree with the other reviews. We stayed here one night on our way to Tucson. We felt the room was clean but nothing fancy or particularly nice about it. $62 got us the room. We only used it to sleep after a long day of driving. It worked for us but is not a place I would stay again. read more
