This hotel is a fantastic bargain, in the very center of Vienna's fabulous inner city, walking distance to all metro, right by the world famous Vienna Oper (opera house.) It could not be more convenient! Walk to Karlsplatz, the Musikverin, Hofburg, Stefansdom, Graben, all the great sights. Quick
u-bahn ride to Schoenbrunn, or anywhere. The lobby is just beautiful and a great place to meet your people for a drink. Very good breakfast buffet for $11 US extra. I just spent 9 nights there over Christmas 2018, and want to share just a few caveats. First, there are no room phones. If you do not have cell service in Europe, and have forgotten your alarm clock, this is a real problem. Also, there are no bellboys, no room service, not such a problem. Those, you can live with. To be really picky, could use another waste basket besides the one in the bathroom...and room a bit small with little storage space....but these cuts are how they keep such a terrific hotel so reasonably priced. It is a great place to stay full stop. The rooms are very very clean and comfy, terrific bed with cozy duvees and lots of nice pillows, reception staff exceedingly helpful, especially Vladimir. Very quiet. Lovely restful decor in the wide hallways. My room even had its own little balcony. Big TV, which actually had a wake-up feature. I'm so glad I found this hotel and would definitely stay there again. I love Vienna, and am regularly there, so I may see you at Motel One on Elisabethstrasse 5 !! Also - it's right by a fabulous steak house called Maredo, where I had a steak dinner that rivals anything you would have in Texas. I mean that! Wow, and right in the middle of Wien. You do not HAVE to eat Wienerschnitzel ! Enjoyed my stay. read more
