Everyone we met was super nice and cared about finding the perfect family for the puppy, without being off putting. We brought our reactive 5 yr old dog for a meet and greet. First we had them on opposite sides of the fence on leash. Once that went well, we moved our dog inside the fence, still of leash. Once that went well, we took a short walk together. After that, we went back to an exam room(they are a vet too) and got them both drinks. We filled out the final paperwork and took him home. What set them apart were the things they gave us to make the transition easier for the puppy- dog bed from his foster and crate, balance of his bag of food so we can transition, toys, and starter doses of flea/tic/heartworm meds. I found a cat I liked and asked about him. I was told he needed to see vet first. I thought ok, then asked when he will be available. In a few days was the best I could get out if her. I then asked to adopt him now and pay all necessary fees etc. and I would pick him up when ready. I was told no. First come first served she replied in an imperious manner. I said I am first why can't I arrange adoption now. I could tell she just wanted to get rid of me and just said "NO!!!" And dismissed me. I asked.if I could be called or emailed when he is available. Again a big fat NO. Just look on our site. Firstly, why can't a pet be adopted prior to vet procedure, if the applicant is willing to wait and pay all fees ahead if time? Secondly, they need to find a more courteous person to deal with the public. These animals are not her personal property and she is not god.

I love cats and follow a lot of local cat rescues on social media so I can see photos of cute cats…read more I saw that Second Chance Cats of West Michigan was having a party for their 4th anniversary so Nate and I stopped by with some cans to donate. The facility is pretty large and has three rooms for the cats, but they also have many cats in foster homes. We got a tour from a friendly volunteer who introduced us to all the cats and let us hang out with the kittens. Since it was their anniversary party, they also had food and refreshments. We loved seeing all the cute cats and most were very friendly, although some were (understandably) napping. They take donations throughout the year, so I'm planning on saving up more cans to drop off. They also host events and you can visit them during their open hours on the weekends. They do have a suggested donation of $10 for visiting, which I think is really reasonable for the good work they are doing for these cute furry friends!

My dogs bad habit(s) changed instantly when I began using the "tools/strategies/tips" that were given. The corrections are easy and only require consistency from us. I also really appreciated that one piece of the training was solely focused on "understanding" your dog(s) and why they behave in certain ways. This helped us so much!!!! Also, Erin was So GREAT! She is highly knowledgeable, caring, patient and so easy to work with. You can tell she has a ton of experience and understands dogs and dogs within family structures. I like the idea of it, but personally I liked it better before they separated it until a business within multiple little businesses of dog groomers. My dogs see Tonya and she never disappoints. The kennel is clean and heated. The space for each dog is good. Ours were placed in a larger space to allow them both to be with each other. This made us feel better, thinking they would have each other while we were gone. They do not intermingle with other dogs, which we liked. You just don't know how new dogs will behave around each other. It also limits any spreading of diseases, potentially. We were allowed to bring in our own bedding and home comforts. The price was very reasonable. If you don't mind traveling, this kennel is a definite repeat.
